I’ve been on babby duty since 4. She hasn’t napped at all. I’m about to get her in her jammies and make her bedtime bottle.
Baby-raising is a job for the young, for sure!

:o I have a hard time remembering if I ever posted to my actual page; usually just a reply to someone else on their page or the Protestant football group. I just never could get into Facebook that much. Nothing against it but I just never got the bug.
Went to Alcosan after visiting our favorite dive diner nearby; sort of promoting the “after=food=chain”. Hit a yard sale and got a cool deal on yet another pocket knife I don’t really need. Went to a church roast beef dinner and found out the Pastor’s son is a rollercoaster nut like us so an hour meal became a 3 hour visit. All in all not a bad day off at all. And I stopped past my favorite motorcycle repairman and met his new dog; a cute active little Boston Terrier he rescued. Tomorrow is being a volunteer ride op so tonight will be much sleeping unless I get one of those toe cramps. Change of seasons plays heck with the muscles in my feet for some reason.
Red - it did occur to me the letter could be fake. You never know.
I certainly get enough phone calls telling me I am going to be arrested at any minute if I don’t settle my tax debt.
FCM - babies are surely for the young. It makes me tired to even thing about caring for one, but then again, they are so cute.
They closed the stores at 6, so I got out at a decent time. Back to work tomorrow.
Power is always good.
Jameson?
red, first customer was a dude buying $20 of lottery tickets.
Hang in there, Midget.
Blurf.
Was out from 0700-1530 today with soccer in 93F heat, so by the time I got home I was toasted-in more ways than one. A 2-hour nap and a shower (not quite as long) helped considerably. Need to get some food shortly.
I had hoped the work would be done and my Washer/Dryer would be back in the house, but no luck so I’ll be off to the Laundromat tomorrow for a couple of hours.
Sari, I’d check too, possibly in person at the local office (if close enough). I think they do explain why you owe and give you an opportunity to challenge it, if it’s an official letter–but I could be wrong. Check it out to be sure.
Red, ruble souds like you had more fun than I did (both boys and girls teams lost). Ruble, got caught in the traffic caused by the Trail of Tears ride this morning, long lines of motorcycles heading the other way (and blocking my left turn).
FCM, how hard can it be to take care of a baby; after all, you did it 30 or so years ago…
To all the rest, my best wishes but I’m hongry and need to get dressed and find food.
Didnja ever hear of a catapult? ::fling::
I went to the convention center, but the idjit guard pointed me in the wrong direction. The thousands of runners were at the west end; while the [del]whackadoosles[/del] comic con attendees were at the east end, 2 blocks away. There was one guy, blue face, blue spock ears, & blue two-toed feed. I don’t know what he was…other than weird.
I walked past a homeless girl on the sidewalk; she had a sign “Anything helps, even a smile” When I walked past again, she was a he. On my final trip past, he had turned back to she. Obviously they were a couple staking out a prime spot, but I never saw them together, it was like he was her bio-break standin. Gotta [del]avoid[/del] love the city.
Mosquitoes savaged me while I mixed peat moss and sand in a large container. I reflected that it behooved them to drive me away, since I was planting various Sarracenia species and Dionaea muscipula, carnivorous plants.
The puppies are here! Six mewling, blind, black little bundles of joy.
Nicky growls at me unless I am giving her cookies.
I will show no preferences, just take the first six requests.
Hello?
>TAP TAP<
Is this thing on?
What kind of pups?
I mistakenly bought Double Stuffed Oreos instead of regular. Smile.
The mother is a Pomeranian, the alleged father a poodle, but he is fighting it in court.
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) “rescued” the Pom, not knowing that the dog was pregnant.
I think about getting another dog, Ripple needs a friend.
However, he plays rough and I think I need to get something closer to his size or larger.
I also worry about the cat, he can deal with one dog but two might be too many for him to handle.
But it is very very tempting Flytrap.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and clear (well, dark) with a predicted high of 96 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Up earlier than I want to be but couldn’t sleep anymore. OYKW is still abed. If’n he decides he does not want to deheathenate, I may do so with the Luteruns at nine this mornin’. Other than that no biggie plans for the day. Any desires for sustenance will be via forage. It’s a no cook day.
flytrap congrats on bein’ a doggie grandpa!
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy is hungry. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Sunday Y’all!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. It’s suppoed to rain non stop till Tuesday.
Congrats on the new arrivals. Flytrap! I’d take one, but Gordie prefers cats to dogs.
Well, Roxy is on The List! She fell asleep while I was giving her the pre-bed bottle. And she slept maybe an hour. I walked her around and she seemed to drop off again, but she started yowling again. About 10 or so, I mixed up a very small bottle, which she slurped down, and afterwards, she filled her diaper for me. rah. She was wide awake when her parents got home some time after 11.
Then I woke at 5. Dammit. Couldn’t fall back to sleep. So the critters have been tended to, the dishwasher has been loaded and run on a rinse cycle since it’s not full yet. And here I am, tahred. A little later this morning, I need to build a pot roast in the slow cooker. And I’ve got some CAD work to do for FCD. So much for a lazy weekend.
Happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday!
The sun is shining. It’s a cool 66 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 81.
Nothing much scheduled for today.
It’s take out the trash day, which makes it also clean out the fridge day.
Two papers down, one more to proofread a few more times. He still has some work to do on it.
The pup is sleeping next to me. The cat is in the basement, presumably hunting mice.
**Moooooom **- The way you describe RoxStar’s sleeping patterns last night, I guess you could say I myself slept like a baby last night.
Happy Sunday all!
In the last hour, 3 cars have driven past loudly blaring music. All 3 were playing the same song. I’m now stuck wondering if it’s one car driving round in circles playing it on a loop, or every radio station is obsessed.
Anyway, I’m mostly trying to get things ready to clear off tomorrow; packing, checking in online, dropping keys round for someone who’s gonna feed the axolotls, making sure nothing goes disgusting in the fridge… What have I forgotten?
blurf. Safe travels Nut.
I typed a long post that went poof so happy Sunday all!
Squee! Puppies! Have fun with them flytrap.
Up, caffeinating and breakfasted. Fixing to get in the shower , then go drink coffee with a bunch of heathens.
Up at 6am, which is a problem since I didn’t go off to bed until nearly 1am this morning. I foresee nappage in my near future.
After this note I’m shutting down and heading out to the laundromat.
flytrap, the puppies sound adorable, but I’m too much a curmudgeon to take on responsibilities at my age.
Nut, just make sure you have all the ‘absolutes’ done, because you will forget something; make sure it’s a simple and replaceable thing, like a toothbrush…
We have breakfasted. I vacuumed. I did the CAD work for FCD. I’m about to start the pot roast, then I’ll assume the crochet position in front of Netflix.
Perhaps it’ll be a chill day after all.
