The French Toast MMP

bumba, will you be making just one lid or lids for the whole set?

swampy, doesn’t matter if they’re approved are not; the minutes will be kept and the hours will be lost…

Bumba, have fun lathing

Only time we have a store rush for bread and water here in N. Ali-bama is the (rare) occasion that we get more than a dusting of snow. About 3-4 years ago we got a 9" snowfall and the roads looked like the Apocalypse had occurred (empty, they were) and the stores were either sold out or closed. Me being raised in N. Ohio, 9" is a light flurry so it didn’t bother me none.

Sunny, hang in there with the moving and Nut, embrace the heat…

I prefer Irish Toast; doesn’t require getting any milk; substitute Bailey’s. Personally, I like the Vanilla Cinnamon Baileys.
Though I did forget to get eggies yesterday; the ones in the fridge are past date…by months.

Get a really big, powerful fan blowing out of the basement; anytime he gets in the line of fire…::woosh:: he’s on the other side of the room.

What about the Shakers?

I figgered you’d be with booze as Swampy is with TP; an overabundance of supply. Ye haz disappointed me, doggio. :o

Busy day, sold out of water. What gets me is the idjets who walked out when we were out of the 24 packs of water, but still had gallon jugs on the shelf.:smack:

I didn’t say I was out, I said I was buying more.:D:p

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and clear (well, dark) with a predicted high of 92 and mostly N.O.S. with a thirty percent chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. We shall see. The big item on today’s agenda is laundry and waitin’ on FedEx to deliver my meds. I lead such an excitatin’ life. We shall sup upon pot roast with carrots and N.O.T., butterbeans, and corn bread. Think I shall do the pot roast in the oven usin’ my cast iron dutch oven instead of the slow cooker, just cause.

Everyone in the path of Flo’ be safe!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Sari, I too have the sinus/allergies/cold thingy going on. Fortunately I feel better than I did last night or else I’d be staying home today.

Have I ever mentioned that I have an old furniture addiction problem? Well, the other day my dad was being funny and sent me an ad for two ugly old wingback chairs for $30. I couldn’t resist and now they’re clogging up the front hallway waiting for someone to help me carry one upstairs. I’ve decided I’m going to try my hand at reupholstering it.

Up, caffeinated, and shevledd. Off to work.

**Sticky **- I’ve done some self-taught reupholstery and I really enjoyed it. The only part I don’t like is making cushion covers, but I’ve done that too. Hope it works out for you!

Our gov has already declared a state of emergency - more for flooding than for the hurricane itself. We need to gas up our vehicles and fill the gas cans in case we need the generator, but beyond that, we’re good for a while. We had a camp stove somewhere - probably would be a good idea to locate it and the fuel, just in case. I don’t think our generator will handle a microwave. I suppose we could subsist on sammiches and cereal.

Thus begins another day in paradise. Happy Tuesday!!

Good luck and stay safe, those with weather!

I sometimes wonder what would happen if we did get hit by some proper serious weather, only a few farmers have any gear like generators, without power we’d be in trouble fast. Especially here, as I’m in the pointy bit at the bottom of the country, only connected to the rest of it by 2 roads suitable for hgvs, only one of which has more than one lane, plus a few little back roads. Resupply here is s…l…o…w. After the few inches of snow we got, it was 2 weeks before all the shops were up to stock again though the road was only closed for less than 24 hours.

It looks like I’ll be sat in for a few hours, the boiler needs its annual checkup (it being nearly a year since I moved in). The landlord said he’d give the guy doing it my phone number, and he’d call to arrange a time. What he actually did was come round and stick a note saying ‘I called round but couldn’t get access, please call to reschedule’ in my letterbox.
I’ve been in all morning, if he’d just rung the doorbell (which is loud enough to awaken me from the deepest sleep, no way I missed it) he coulda come in then.

Oh well, I called and he’s coming this afternoon at 1pm instead. Not enough time to do much else before then, so I guess I’m sitting in waiting.

Happy Toosday!

Another wet day, although it isn’t raining now. I hope it stays that way until we get back from the grocery store.

We have a soggy mess to get through when we go out. Something grew in the wild flower patch, I have no idea what they are. They never got flowers on them, just a big clump of thin stalks that grew 8-10 feet tall. Anyway, with all the rain, the entire clump has fallen over the sidewalk.

I’m sorry you are going through this crap too Sticky.
I feel miserable, and it hurts to talk.

I’m grumpy too. Two companies I do business with made the mistake of sending me surveys about my experience on their websites yesterday. I doubt they are going to like my answers. Truthfully, their websites suck, and I told them I could have done better using cobol and cics.

I’m weird (or I just like plain foods.) I like toast with nothing on it, not even butter. My mom’s cousin called it “naked toast.”

I like ‘naked toast’ too, Midget; as long as you pile a lot of bacon in between slices…

Morning all. Awaiting what new adventures await for the remodel. Tile guys are about 80% finished with the bathroom and by the builders schedule the appliances are due today or tomorrow, so my kitchen may begin to look like a kitchen again.

68F going to 83F today but it’s going to be getting hotter as the week goes along.

Sari, watch your step going out. And grumpiness is underrated, IMHO. Go get’em.

Nut, hope the guy is on-time; here we’re lucky to get “between 12-4Pm” as an arrival time.

Sticky Buns, I have these three old office chairs sitting around…

All y’all in Florence’s path be careful now.

Just wondering, do you look like a Hasidic diamond merchant?
My fiends b-day is today; musta really sucked 17 years ago. Not as much as ≈ 3000 other people & their families, but still…

Some amusement parks are famous for having “egg water” in the fountains; the stuff smells and tastes slightly of rotting eggs. I always blamed it on the coal/sulfur in the groundwater and parks using cheap wells for their free stuff whenever they can.

Too busy making furniture for the Quakers?

You would make a PERFECT Lutheran. We consider ketchup to be a spice.
Other than that enjoying a bad Sc-Fi movie on Comet; radioactive snails destroying the world. A little slow (sorry) but a good old classic.

I forgot to say that today I have the added excitatement of waitin’ for FedEx to deliver meds. Yee and haw.

**FCD **popped in - he was picking up material for a project he’s working. Other than that, it’s just another day.

Back at it…

blurfage Ever try to call Best Buy corporate offices? Don’t because it is not possible. I am trying to check a reference for a new hire and it is just not done. Aggravation abounds here.

FedEx has delivered my meds! I know y’all were concerned.

Carry on.

If I mixed your meds and my meds I probably would carry on.
