Well, of course, since a swampy off his meds is a horror not to be contemplated…
Shower is about 80% done, the tilers will hopefully finish up today, and someone delivered my new lights while I wasn’t looking, so things seem to be moving along.
Might grab a nappage here so I’m ready for soccer at 5PM.
last time we had an earthquake the only way out of the valley literally collapsed and no one could get in or out for 2 weeks and they remembered were out here and spent 30 mil adding us to the metrolink
Um, ick. I do not like bacon and I definitely don’t need the greasy mess all over my stove, thanks. We can make due with PB&J and raisin bran! Tho I doubt we’ll lose power - certainly not for very long.
I now have a refrigerator installed, but the range, microwave, and dishwasher are sitting in their boxes in the kitchen, apparently they get installed by someone other than the delivery guys. Tilers are back at work finishing the shower, so maybe by next week (one hopes) I will be back in my whole house. We shall see.
We have gates, but top of the basement stairs has a door. If we put a gate there, we can’t close the door. And if the door is open, it blocks the hallway to our front door. It’s a kind of ridiculous set up, but we need to be able to close the door. 99% of the time, it’s totally fine to have that door closed. But when we have no air circulating and the basement getting danker by the day, it’s kind of a pain.
But I have the fan blowing air into the basement during the day today. It’s going to be humid the next few days, so I’ll probably lay off on that for a while. There’s no point in blowing humid air into the basement.
I believe you’ll find it spiderwebed onto the roof, juuuuussst out of reach. Iffn you get the ladder out & reach just a bit you should be able to get it; go on, it’s safe, no one sawed ([del]most[/del] partway) thru it. I’m sure you’ll be okay; you trust me, don’t you?
I hope you have a Swampyesque amount of TP iffn you plan on living on bran for few days.
Makes sense, the fridge just gets plugged in (I’m guessing no ice maker/water capability?) where the micro needs to be ‘installed’ (going over the stove, not on the counter, right?) & the other two need hookups of gas or water; not something [del]gorillas[/del] appliance movers do.
We have supped with leftovers for another night. Win-Win! I am in the mood for some fish so hopefully the Pubic Sto’ will have a deal on some used fish tomorrow. They generally do.
Just so y’all know, it was not the anti-depressant that was delivered today. I get that one for uber cheap at my favorite local drug sto’. The ones that I get delivered FedEx are two that I get for uber cheap because I order them. They’d cost me around 36k a year elsewise.
I read that wrong, wondering how you could type from the shower. Even more perplexing, how does one know when one is 80% done with their shower?
Got groceries, talked to my mother, took a nap.
No rain today but it has been dark and dreary all day.
sticky, what little upholstry that I’ve done, I’d rather leave it to someone else.
eimly, would your toast be French Canadian style?
Moooooom, you don’t like bacon?!!!
When I got to irk today, my 'puter decided to delete the network drive. Oy! I was able to install it myself, so I didn’t have to wait for the IT guy again or be without my music.
I had to look up Comet in my area. Dish TV (which we unfortunately have) doesn’t carry it. Guess I’ll finally have to figure out how to stream the internet to our fancy TV. :dubious:
Found a nice piece of wood only a little larger than I needed for the sugar canister lid. It’s a cut off from some kind of burl I’ve had for 40+ years. Maybe Elm. I ain’t sure anymore. Next step is to clear all the [del]trash[/del] valuable artifacts and tools off the band saw table so I can cut it into some semblance of a round shape and mount it on my lathe headstock. After I clear my way to the lathe. :o
I was never that fussed about bacon- being vegetarian, people ask how much I miss it all the time like it’s some kind of gotcha. I actually preferred the fake bacon flavour to the ‘real thing’ even when I did eat meat.
Going to the actual University today, the big one that officially runs the course but I never go to rather’n the little college I actually study at, 'cos I’m on the committee for our sole student society and we have a training day. Not met the other committee members yet (basically we were the sole volunteers), but one of 'em’s giving me and a third a lift, 'cos it’s nearly an hour’s drive.
