The French Toast MMP

For the last… five or six years, I can’t really justify upgrading my laptop unless I manage to hand the previous one down, the ups being pretty small. But cars? I was taught that you replace a car when the previous one is really begging for retirement (there’s one I inherited from a great-uncle and passed on to my brother, which got retired being over 35yo) or the family simply doesn’t fit in the old one, but the kind of stuff I see “in development” makes me want to hold off replacement until my next one is electric and drives better than I do.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and clear (well, dark) with a predicted high of 92 and a good chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. We shall see. Today is lay in provisions day. Rah. I also need to accomplish mowage and would like to do so today but may not get to do so. Tomorrow mornin’ I get to go to the dentist and tomorrow afternoon looks to be a rainy one. Or not. Thus Firday may become mowage day. Life is so hard!

As to vehicles, that will be a concern for me in a couple of years. I will need to replace twuck, most likely with another small twuck. I’m still p.o.ed that it’s the twenty-first century and I still don’t have a flyin’ car like I was promised I would have durin’ my childhood.

OK, now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, bother of bothers, since I am to go about the public to the Pubic Sto’, I suppose I should purtify and don goin’ about the public clothin’.

Happy Wednesday Y’all!

I’m enjoying the heck out of the “What does your username mean?” thread. Cracks me up!!

From the morning news, it looks like Florence may skew a bit more to the south, then head west when it makes land, so the effects here in Merrylande may be minimal. We shall see. But we will get gas for the generator, just in case. Other than that, just another day in paradise.

Happy Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day!

It’s a cloudy 66 degrees outside.
Not that I care, I don’t feel well and have no intention on going outside.
It’s not raining but it is still wet and gloomy out there.
Ripple has been disappointed that I haven’t been sitting out with him.

Not much on the agenda for today. I have a load of whites in the washer. I always wash them twice, once with bleach and then again without. Waste of water, I know. If I could, I would bleach everything.
Wednesday is bill paying day.

Other than that I plan on resting.

We’ve got another few days of warmth coming in for the rest of the week. It’s nice because I like sleeping with the windows open, but when the daily high is only 68, we can’t let the house get too cool at night because 68 isn’t going to warm the house up a lot during the day. So it’ll be warm through the weekend, then we’ll go back to greenhouse heating the house for a couple more weeks.

Morning all. Tilers are back (again), hopefully will finish with the bathroom today. Other stuff is planned for, but we’ll see if it gets done. 20% chance of rain today and 40% chance tomorrow, but the temperatures are back to the 90F range, so I guess Fall is over (of course, Halloween Candy is out at the stores, so I guess it is Fall).

I do have a functional refrigerator again, but since the installers for the other stuff may have to turn the electric off again, I’m not restocking (besides, I have nothing to cook with).

Nut, enjoy the trip and maybe make a couple new friends.

Provisions have been procured and stowed. Go Me! I got some nice “used” catfish filets which I will fry up in my little fry thingy for sup. I bought some Pubic Sto’ coleslaw (don’t judge, they make a good slaw!) and will do some oven fries. Should make for a nice sup plus easy to get ready. Yahd is way too wet to mow still. It rained for several hours startin’ late afternoon yestiddy. Guess Firday will end up bein’ mow day.

Nut I know your gettin’ ready for your Eyetalian trip. Have fun!

All right then, bananas. We haven’t done them, have we? Right. Bananas. How to defend yourself against a man armed with a banana. Now you, come at me with this banana.

(I’ll just skip the whole fruit tie-in other than this ------ just because. )

A good attorney (OK – slightly an oxymoron) can always blame the meds for the axe-murdering?
And everyone along the coast — batten down the hatches. And then batten them down again. That will teach those dirty hatches.

Sorry ---- Bugs Bunny flashback. Happens now and then.

I keep a cheap small TV on rabbit-ears (the more modern version) just for that and MeTV. Without the two of those I could happily live without a television; just my DVD player.

Weather is turning warmer again and kinda damp again. Mudslides and sinkholes as well as localized flooding continues. Other than that irk on the most hated day for employees at Da Jungle. Our bosses are either “front half” (Sun-Wed) of back half (Wed-Sat) which means that are ALL UNDER THE ROOF WEDNESDAY! Know that old saying about too many cooks? Yeah? Well clearly Seattle doesn’t. :smack:

Blurf Injured myself beating on the copier. It gets jammed so often the “door” won’t close easily so one must pound on it to get it closed. Now I have a nice big bruise on swollen area on my wrist. Workers Comp here I come. Not.

I cleaned my office and it looks much better. Was a mess.

I have to irk 6 days this week and not amused. I only had one day off last weekend so this irk thing is cutting into my life.
Happy Hump Day. Stay safe those in the path of Florence.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. Looking like we’ll “only” get 7 inches of rain from Flo.

:dubious:

I went to an incredibly beautiful Cowboys Fringants concert last night!

Midget, had to look them up, then listened to a couple of their tunes on YouTube; I can see why you like them, even if I can’t understand a word (only school subject I ever flunked was French).

Went banking, gas tank full, hair cut, and face fed. All in about an hour; efficient I am. Now awaiting my 6-year olds soccer practice this afternoon.

Butters, I have battered my share of copiers over the year; I prefer to kick them myself.

ruble, only good thing about having two bosses is maybe you can play them off each other…maybe.

swampy, “used” catfish? Y’all sure you got the right meds in that delivery?

Juliet, it’s 85F here and not even noon; right now I’d trade days in a heartbeat.

Aww, so nice you listened to their music. I find they have a beautiful musical sound overall, with gorgeous melodies. And their type of French is sort of local/slangy, so it can be a bit harder to understand than the French learned in school. I didn’t know all of the songs they played last night, but I enjoyed them all.

And this concert was with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. So, beautiful music, in wonderful orchestral arrangements - just such a great evening.

Feeling pretty good this morning. Stayed up til about 12:30 last night to see Neil deGrasse Tyson on the late show and the dogs, and my bladder, let me sleep until 5 this morning. Went back to sleep at about 5:30 and slept til 8. I feel almost human.

When wifey had her knee replaced last year she slept in the upstairs front bedroom for a while to avoid sharing the bed with the dogs (she said). We never had cable up there. Just an old tube TV with rabbit ears. Well, I replaced that old TV with a new flat screen and a good amplified antenna for her to watch. We can get almost all the local stations and then some over the air. Between that and the internet we can get almost everything we watch now. I’d just have to put an antenna in the upper attic and run a cable down through the walls to the living room, and get some kind of fancy DVR.
For some reason she’s against it. But then, she has me switch the TV back and forth from the dish to the internet 'cause she can’t seem to get it to work.

Happy Hump Day!

Wednesdays we basically have 9 ------------- God have mercy on our souls.

bleh Woke up feelin poopy to a call sayin tomorrows dr appointment was cancelled due to health net doing what I told then not to do that or the office is a week or two behind so callin around to get it fixed

Our weather is from 6-7:30 pm to 9 am its somewhat cooled off and then gets hot around 9:30 to ten am it will stay like this until around Halloween then just gets cooler it dosent get cold here until right around thanks giving and sometimes not even then because its been 75 on xmas …

But we only get 3 to 6 weeks of winter coldness and most of that tends to be broken up with warm spells like well get a cold week or two after xmas then it will warm up then get cold again for 2 weeks in jan then Feb. is what passes for monsoon season where if we get any rain for the year its all in February which is why feb is known as “mud” and march is known as “wind” …

Where are you?

I’m at irk and am having one of those days where nothing major is going wrong, but a bunch of little things are getting to me and I just want to hide in a bathroom and cry for a while. Not totally sure why, but I just kind of feel on the edge of tears all day.

2.5 hours to go.
