The Great MMP Semi-Offical List of Mumpers for this Week

Good afternoon! I hope all is well with you, and yours. I guess things are ok around here. I’m wanting to be lazy.

I just cut in half, and pounded out some chicken tits. I think I’m going to try to fry them up, and turn them into sandwiches. It shows dredging them in cornstarch, then in egg, and then in Panko crumbs. Soooo, we’ll see how that works out. I’ve never used cornstarch to ‘flour’ stuff, before. Oy. That’ll be later on, though. All I did just now, was cut them, pound them out, and seasoned them. They’re resting in the fridge until I get off my lazy arse, and cook them.

Speaking of my lazy arse, I guess I’m not TOO lazy. I put the dishes away, so, there’s that. I need to throw the towels in the washer, too. Also, the stupid floors need to be vacuumed. It never ends, I swear. No wonder I want to be lazy! It’s an art, you know. Plus, it looks like one of our dogs (Our big one, Poe), is getting ready to blow his coat, again. Deity help me.

It’s a chilly, mostly cloudy day, but not too awful. It’s up to a blistering 13F, with a ‘feels like’ of 5F. We’ve got a chance for flurries, later. No more than an inch. Not bad.

At least I can stay home, and do what needs to be done. Have a pleasant day, everyone!

Momentary panic - I couldn’t get on line!!! Apparently my modem had an internal tron-fart. I used my phone to check the ABB website and they said there were not outages, so I pulled the power on the modem for a bit, then let it restart. And it worked. Huzzah!!

Got notification that the electric blanket I ordered for the guest room will be delivered on Weds… by FedEx. Considering their most recent deliveries, I expect the box to wind up on the roof, or maybe in a tree… :stuck_out_tongue:

But now, I’m going to run to Food Lion for some more Diet Coke, just in case it’s not on sale after tomorrow. And I need to start thinking about meal planning for when the inlaws are here. My most recent grocery purchases have been geared towards dinner for 2.

Hot damn! My tier should be getting vaccination appointments for next week in the next few days. They started poking the elementary and Special Ed. folks, plus active coaches today, along with anybody near them at their sites. Next week starts the rest of us, based on seniority (both age and time in District). Yee, I say Yee-Ha!

I always think of him (secretly) as Ratso Rizzo.

Wifey wants this computer for some work meeting. I may come back on my own box upstairs, or I may get dressed and go to the store. We’re almost out of dark chocolate covered caramels. :open_mouth:

FCM, I bought a new Biddeford queen size, dual control, electric blanket, about a month ago. Well, the controller for my side went tits up. So, I went online, to their website, to order one. They’re $25+shipping. Well, their shipping department said that my address does not exist. So, I called their customer service number, sat on hold for a little more than 45 minutes, and finally, FINALLY talked to a human! She took all my information, and she’s sending me a new controller, free of charge! WIN!

As for FedEx…Well…You know my thoughts on that, after my husband’s new guitar incident.

Back from getting some sodas - FIL drinks regular Coke on occasion, so I got some for him. Any that’s left over will go to SIL. Now I’m going to do some dinner planning for their visit - 11 nights, I think. And I’ll hit Aldi before the week is up to get some meats and chips, among other things.

Nona - yeah, those guitar pics were truly a testament to FedEx!! But yay for free controller - as it should be!

Bumba - Don’t let your dark chocolate covered caramel supply get so low that a snowstorm could leave you rationing. That would be tragic!

OK, cat box needs scooping and the lazy felines won’t clean up after themselves. Useless hairbags!!!

ETA - 10 dinners. Daughter wants to host us one evening.

Afternoon all. Sammich has been placed in the appropriate organs and is happily digesting. Need to mail a bill later on today, but not a rush. 56F outside, and supposed to be in the 60’s tomorrow, so that will be nice.

quietly, good luck. Ali-bama just opened my tier (64-75) and I’m on the waiting list at the Horsepistol, but the local state clinic is taking people on a walk-in basis, so maybe I’ll take advantage of the nice weather and head that way tomorrow and see if the line is reasonable.

And that’s all there is from casa Rat. All y’all take care.

Minor quibble, but like real passwords, I am case-sensitive! No initial or intercap for me.

Maybe we should propose Bard for Emily. I’d volunteer to be a Ranger, but I like my current name. Hmmm - maybe online RPG for MMP, if there’s interest?

In a lot of pain recently, so I’m a little quiet today. Happy Moanday everyone!

nona That “Biddeford” caught my eye. I grew up in a Biddeford, but didn’t know there was an electric blanket named after it. Well, I knew that back in the day the mills made 'em, but the mills were long closed by the time I was around. Interesting, looking at their website it seems they are using an old picture of my Biddeford, even though they are in Illinois.

I did actually get adventurous enough to go to my shop today, mostly to check on the plumbing and make some potential items for sale. The dog was happy to get out of the house for a while. This whole 2 feet of snow on the ground has cut into his running around like a dufus in the yard ability.

Yep. Their name is Biddeford, and the company is located in Lake Forest, Illinois.

Second.

27F (wind chill 18) and fair, and yesterday’s snow is happily melting away. Another 1-3" predicted for tomorrow, but tomorrow’s high is 36F, so who knows.

Still a large lump on my backside, but it doesn’t feel as hard as it did and it’s shrunk enough that I can fasten my jeans. This getting old business is becoming quite tiresome.

Preach it, brother!!!

Daughter has been and gone. We got the rug moved and she logged me into Disney+ and Hulu on my new TV, so I’m good to go. Tomorrow, I’ll break out the carpet cleaner and soak this rug, hoping to flatten it. Right now, the edge in the doorway from the living room is a definite trip hazard, especially for FIL. Worst case, I’ll put a small throw rug over it. But I’m hoping a good douse of hot water as well as the heat from the pellet stove will ease the lumps from being rolled up for transport. Cheap rug, dammit. I can also try taking the iron to it… again…

Not sure what supper will be. I ate the last of the chickie noodle soup, so I have no more leftovers. There’s a hunk of broccoli and the other half of my sweet potato, and salad stuff. Maybe I’ll do a veggie supper - and dump some cheese over the broccoli for protein. Sounds like a potential plan.

Daughter has given me a date and a meal plan for having the family over, so I can plan my shopping. Main meals are easy-ish. Desserts will be tougher if I’m not to tempt myself too much. I’ve got a couple of cookbooks with diabetic-friendly recipes and I’ll search on line for other things - emphasis on fruit, I think. The last thing I need here is a cake or pie, tho punkin’ pie would work if I go with a non-sugar sweetener. There’s a thought.

It’s been a productive day. More to follow tomorrow.

This is such an awesome idea! I’m gonna have to bookmark this.

Mom finished her last dose of radiation today and got to ring the bell. She wasn’t expecting the whole damn room to start cheering and clapping, but they did and we both started crying out of sheer relief. So that was awesome. The rest of the day has been comparatively anticlimactic, which is just fine.

It’s cold outside and an ice storm is in the offing. I just want to sit under a blanket and knit all day, but everyone keeps trying to talk to me, both at work and at home. Go figure. I’m seriously considering chugging an espresso. I should waddle on the treadmill downstairs instead, but something about that just isn’t as tempting.

I’m baaaaack!

So, took a shower, got dressed, went and put gas in the Scion (first time his year) and got groceries. Now I’m in goof mode for a few.

It’s 45f and clear outside, but TWPTB are threatening snow starting Thorsday. Wifey says 9".
It’ll be the apocalypse! Hope it’s gone by Moanday. I have doctor’s appts Mon, Tues and Wed. All within a mile of here, fortunately.

Our local grandson has our '88 Ferd Ranger, but it’s still on our insurance. (His Mom (daughter) has been paying our insurance on it). Well, since his grades have come up this last year, their insurance company has decided that his rates would be a lot less, and so we’re officially gifting him the old truck and we’ll be done with it. This is a good thing.

Wifey has started talking about selling the big house in the valley. That was my idea originally and why I talked her into buying the little house in Central Orygun, but now that she thinks it’s her idea, something might happen. :crossed_fingers:

Well, play time is over.

I did a veggie supper - broccoli (with a little cheese), half a sweet potato, and half a cucumber. Surprisingly filling! So now it’s time to assume the knit position until I can’t knit any more - either because of fatigue of because I’ve finally finished the lap robe I’m working on.

Onward!!!

I hope you’ll be taking a picture of said lap robe.

Yay!

IT WASN’T OVER WHEN THE GERMANS BOMBED PEARL HARBOR, AND IT’S NOT OVER NOW!

My Roomba always tried to solved the pet hair problem by trying to consume the pets

“If someone asks you if you’re a god, you say YES!” You’re in.

No worries, Hippie. Just post occasionally, so we know you’re alive, and not eaten by The Invisible Mole People.

Thanks for the list metal mouse.

Glad your in-laws are coming for a supervised visit Moooooooom. Maybe they’ll see the light.

Yay for wordymom!

Irked, came home vacuumed, and et supper. I scheduled a four day weekend for this coming one, so only two days left.

While walking Nelson this afternoon, I saw two robins by the building next door (that apartment has birdfeeders out), so there is a glimmer of hope for spring.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

@dogbutler

Thanks
