I ran to Wal-Mart for a couple of items and it wasn’t as bad as I had expected. But I came back to an empty driveway and an unlocked house. It’s just Higgs and me. The quiet is bliss!!

Daughter et al get here tomorrow and then it really gets noisy. Meanwhile, it’s dreary and rainy and quite breezy. I may get the latest lap robe finished today.

Still raining, but laundry is done and dishwasher will complete it’s cycle in about 30 minutes.

spidey, not much in the .tmp, but did clear out some other stuff, so go more room now.

Everybody have a good evening, then.

I ordered groceries because there are way too many for my babushka cart. I’ll still have to go over today because there are a few items I need that aren’t available for delivery, but that’s OK. I still need to get to the liquor store.

Wishing safe journeys to all traveling today.

Lots of rain here today. Perfect for staying inside.

Daughter, etc, will leave around 7 this evening. I’ll fret till they’re here.

Supper is forage. Chillage continues. Such is life in a retirement community.

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated and then came back to da cave. The church got all duded up for Crimmus after the service but we did not stick around. I felt a slight twinge of guilt, but got over it pretty much immediately. ‘Tis rainy and ick out and will be all night and probably into tomorrow. OYKW kind of hopes the rain stick around through tomorrow mornin’ because as he says, he’ll know it’s rainin’ and he does not have to get out in it to go to irk. I think he’s gonna like retirement. We et a late N.O.L./ early sup of chili and cornbread. Perfect food on a dreary, icky, rainy, coolish day!

Bucketing down rain here.

Another dulldreary day. The rain is supposed to hit late tonight.

That is damned important. See to the important things first!

Where do you live that you can buy liquor on Sunday? :dubious:

nut, your mention of Bristol made me think and sure enough, each US state where I’ve lived has a Bristol in it. :stuck_out_tongue: Have a safe trip!

I got an error message when I tried to log in this morning. Nothing too exciting happened today. It’s been drizzly all day, so no dog park trip. I did pop into Kroger for a few items though. It was either there or Tar-jay and the little Kroger in the next town over was the likeliest bet for not having to battle crowds.

Turns out Daughter, etc, left around 5:30. If all goes well, they should get here by 8AM. We shall see…

You can’t get liquor on Sunday in Arkansas? Even in the wilds of Wyoming, where you can’t buy beer or wine in a grocery store and restaurants with bars can’t mix drinks within eyeshot of children, liquor stores were open Sundays.

I don’t know what time the liquor stores open here, but they’re open Sunday afternoons and evenings for sure.

It was PACKED in there today. Cut through the mall to get there, and it was like making my way through the floor of the stock exchange. On my way home, I realized I’d forgotten a few things, so I’ll return tomorrow. Surely it won’t be so crazy during the day tomorrow, right?

There are still dry counties in Arkansas. So running to the county line on Saturday evening is a thing. Dangerous time to be on the highway.

Busy day for Santa. He did a couple children’s sermons and a big nursing home but he got a great 5 hour nap during the evening. Now he is off to surprise the new branch of Da Jungle that does all the huge crap people buy.

It sounded like a good idea at the time.

I’ll tell you later if it was after I get in bed at 01:30 just to have the alarm go off at 04:45. :smack:
Actually I think it will be fine -------- next week ya’ll!!!

I dated a woman in Tull. One lane bridges across the Saline river. Mother fu…gentleman going to buy beer in a wet county on Saturday night, imbibing and driving like mother fu…abstracted people on the way back. Dangerous, indeed.
I was driving a Ford Grand Torino. Making the turn on one of the Saline River bridges, I couldn’t see the rest of the bridge. Faith in the flying spaghetti monster that the bridge was there, with no drunken good old boys driving like hell.

FlL is going deaf, so the TV is loud. So I am still awake. And tahred…

I’ll be so glad to go home…
