Even worse when the laundry is located on the second floor.
All morning at the Clinic. Ugh. The antibiotics in the infusion make me nauseous and cranky.
Afternoon spent at the pharmacy fighting over Insurance changes I never approved of.
And, dammit Insulin costs went up again.
Going home now. The lil’wrekker is driving. Too fast.
I need sleep.
Supper was good. Dishes are done. I’m about to assume the recline position. I’m pooped!!!
Well, my son got all A’s again this semester. One class was kind of close, we were both afraid he was going to get an 89.99 in it, which would suck.
He is so good at writing papers, but he sucks at taking tests.
Trying to get some stuff together. I have a friend who is going through a somewhat rough time, she didn’t tell me anything but I heard it from another friend of hers. I think part of the problem is her house. She is a bit of a hoarder, no where near as bad as what you see on TV, but I know it overwhelms her. She told her kids and grandkids she wanted them to clean her house for her birthday. They took her out to dinner.
I’m trying to get the group together to meet up at her place and start cleaning for her. Realistically, considering our ages and health issues, it is more likely to be four fat old ladies sitting around the table drinking tea and eating coffee cake, but we can try. I was hoping we could do it before Christmas, so her house would be nice for her to have people over, but I think that won’t happen. I do think we could get together before New Year’s, so it could be a fresh house, fresh year kind of thing.
I want my son to go so he can do the heavy lifting for us, but he is not thrilled with the idea. Too bad for him. That can be his present to me.
metal mouse, I found long ago that a nice cotton blanket (think hotel bedspread weight) as the next layer on top of the sheet keeps me nice and toasty but not sweaty warm. In cold weather, I add the quilt on top (I use it as a bedspread). Keep dry and don’t blow away tonight (the news has tornados as a possibility in his neck of the woods).
Moooom, I’m like you with the screen before bed. I generally start out with reading and switch to videos to fall asleep by.
It was cold, dark and rainy when I left for irk this morning and cold, dark and rainy when I got home. I swung through the post office to mail a large envelope. Thank goodness for the self serve kiosks, otherwise, I’d never mail anything bigger than a letter.
I’ve cooked 3 big supper meals in a row. Tonight me and the lil’wrekker will eat salad. Mr.Wrekker is going out with a couple of old friends. I was invited. I begged off. Don’t really know these guys. They are both widowers. I was not needed.
My nausea has subsided. The anti-nausea meds work pretty good.
The lil’wrekker is making her boyfriend a stocking. He’s never had one as his Parents are Muslim. She’s so excited about it. I could have whipped him one up in 30min or so. But I’m painstakingly showing her how to sew it. It’s…taking…way…too…long!
My Christmas ‘makes’ are all done.
DIL wants cookies for a cookie exchange. 3 dozen. I told her I’d do it or I’d could show her how. It’s my Mothers old recipe of ‘Chocolate brownie cookies’ they are soooo good. These young folks need to learn it. Think I’ll have a cookie class for them. Me and the grandwreks made our cut-out sugar cookies. That was a fun mess.
Y’all have a good evening (:))
Evening all. Apparently my brand-new laptop doesn’t behave well unless it is connected to the internet…and I don’t have wireless. Guess I need to call the provider and get me some wireless. And even after 40 minutes working with it, I already hate Windows 10.
Rain that was due at 2pm apparently took an Amtrak to get here, didn’t arrive until 6pm. As red mentioned above, had some warnings, but looks like the worst has passed by.
Sari, if it’s not said enough, you are good people.
Becks, everything takes longer the first 100 times…she’s got to develop her skills. Hope you’re feeling better.
Cookie, Sari, I can’t recall ever having to replace the hoses on my washer…then again, it’s only for one person and I don’t start it until I run out of something, so only 3-5 loads per month usually, which doesn’t put much stress on it. And I’ve got a separate laundry room (between the garage and kitchen), so not worried about damage as much.
nellie, may we both sleep well tonight. Even with some nappage this afternoon, I still feel tired.
shady, you sure you don’t write scripts for a soap opera???
velocity, I used to have those trips too, I found that trying to set my clock to the new time a day or so before tended to help me. But coming home was always harder on my system than going.
Take care all.
Howdy Y’all! Home from men’s night over to the church house. Actually been home for a while. I had a bzzzy day today. Got the ice maker machine thingy cleaned this mornin’, reset thermostats, and put the plaque for my friend Mr. Jim on his space in the Columbarium. Also staged some chairs that will be taken down to the playground Thursday afternoon. There’s an outdoor stage on the playground and the kiddies are havin’ a Christmas pageant on Thursday at five-thirty. The thing will be about thirty minutes tops so should be over just at dark. Afterwards we shall have hawt chawklit and cookies. I shall attend. Actually I must attend. One of the little girls in the pageant told me that I have to come. Not much I can say to that except, “Yes Ma’am” and show up.
Well hubby is due home tomorrow and me and the pets will be most pleased. He said he is very ready to be home which means he is bored. I never get bored. I just love to sleep. Our Kitty, Scooter, has finally started to purr after 9 1/2 years. I texted hubs at 5am ish and asked him when she started purring. He replied very recently. She was sitting on my chest when I heard it. Not very loud but definitely purring.
Tis raining. Hope it rains for 40 days. I love me some rain. Tis very hot here still. Lows in the high 70’s and highs in the mid 80’s. We are scheduled for a cool down but nothing of any significance. Hubs has mentioned several time that it’s damp and cold in Jawja.
That’s all the news that’s fit to print. Hang in there everyone. Rough time of the year for some so be kind.
The kidlets in your parish are lucky to have an Unca swampy to attend their pageants. ![]()
What is it not doing, Rat?
Office 365 uses cloud storage, which seems like a dumb thing to me. I like my love letters to Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) to be private.
Sari, I have a friend who’s a professional organizer. If the job at your friend’s house is too big for you and your friends to tackle, you might see about getting pros in to help. A good one could help her set up a system so things don’t get out of control. Just a thought.
Beck, glad your tummy is better. I’d love the recipe for those brownie cookies! The Dope should put out a cookbook.
MetalMouse, I hope you sleep like a rock. If I can stop worrying about my sister, maybe I’ll see you in Dreamland.
So my sis: she’s been having double vision a few days. Didn’t tell her DH until today. He took her to the eye doc. Her BP was sky high, so she spent the rest of the day in the ER. I’ve been trying to get her to go see a doc for well over a year to at least get her vitals checked. She’s refused because she didn’t want them to lecture her about her weight and because her vitals have always been OK. Now she may have retinal damage, but thank God, she didn’t have a stroke (They did a CT) or a heart attack (ran an EKG). She has a doctor’s appointment tomorrow.
Crud. I’m really tired, but I’ve got a bad case of the what-ifs and can’t stop worrying about my sister. I’m telling myself she’s sound asleep, and I should be, too. Not helping.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 70 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted this mornin’. Then temps will start to drop to around 55 accordin’ to TWPTB. Winter weather in the U.S.ofA. south be weird! I have no intentions of leavin’ da cave today, so let it rain I say. I shall accomplish laundry, make sup, which shall be sketties 'n meatballs, cheesey garlic bread, and sallit, and binge some Netflix.
{{{Nellie}}} hope all goes well with your sis. I know you’re worried, but be glad she has an appointment with the doc today to get checked out. Prayers and good vibes for your sis. Also there is a Mumpers Recipe Blog that contains some really nummy recipes.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! RAH
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
**Beck **- I’m starting to teach RoxStar some life skills (like throwing her banana peel in the trash can) and it is a struggle not to just do it myself. Eventually, she’s going to learn basic (at least) cooking skills, basic sewing skills, like buttons and hems and how to thread the machine, and general cleaning skills. And weeding. And how a car runs. And how to replace a ceiling fan… She’s going to learn the stuff my daughter didn’t care about. My granddaughter will be prepared to survive on her own, dammit!!!

We’ve got rain, then very cold for the next few days. But our drive south looks to be decent. Temps while we’re in Ocala are forecast from mid 50s to mid 70s, so spring-like. That’ll be a nice break.
Plans for today: bake the rest of the cookies. Launder one load. Wrap the last gift. Then, who knows… I bought a ham yesterday, so that’ll be supper. All in all, a fairly mundane day.
Happy Tuesday!!
Trigonometry, integral and derivational calculus, differential equations.
**flytrap **- I’ll hold off on the advanced mathematics till she’s at least 3… and can count…
Clothes are in the dryer. I cleaned out under the kitchen sink - it was in disarray, but now it’s in array. Dishwasher just finished its cycle. Once I get the dry laundry stowed, I’ll bake cookies.
SIL is off today and he’s been playing with Roxy. I may get my baking done undisturbed!
Morning all. Slept pretty well, I think the unusual heat the last couple of days kept the house too warm for the heavy comforter I use, but it’s down in to 38F this morning, so I’ll turn down the heat earlier in the evening so it cools off for sleepage and see if that helps.
Another thing to keep me awake; Got a collection notice from some company that I owe the State of Ohio about $10,000. Only thing is it’s for Dave’s Tire Warehouse and from 2007, and I do not own a tire warehouse and I haven’t lived or bought anything in Ohio since I last lived there in 1985. Got a call into them to see what the hell?
Ah well, will have a painting contractor come by today to give me an estimate and will call/visit several places for the Great January changes.
Hope things go well with your sister, nellie; worrying about family members at our ages is a regular occurrence here on the MMP.
flytrap, it will let me login, but the only icon is for Microsoft Edge and I don’t have wireless yet. I can find information that shows Word or Excel, but can’t access them yet, and I can’t even change the time (which is 2 hours off) without locking up the machine. I could use “help”, but they did not pack a manual with it and guess what you need to access help…wireless.
I’m already mourning my Windows 7…
So go over to Dave’s Tire Warehouse, flash your tax documentation around, and start moving some of their–your–money around.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. It’s raining, and “Princess Pretty Paws” will not go out.
How to reverse the polarity.![]()
Cookie, all the apartment flodding has been from water breaks from upstairs(watching it rain from the light fixtures is intresting.)
{{{{nellie}}}}
Glad you’re feeling better, Beck.
