There’s plenty for all.

Home - happy hump day! It’s Daughter’s last tutoring day, so she and her fellow tutors are going out to eat after, leaving me and **FCD **to dine alone. Except he was saying he probably wouldn’t want to eat, so I’ll scrounge for leftovers. I can manage. Plus there’s ice cream.

It was weird coming home to an empty garage. Charley hadn’t lived in there more than 5 weeks or so, but I missed her already. I was sternly told last night, tho - NO MORE CATS - as if I was the one who let her take over the garage… :stuck_out_tongue:

I went to the briefing by our Colonel about the looming downsizing. He didn’t have many more specifics, but he said on March 9, the powers that be were supposed to meet and decide who we’d belong to. There’s a 3:1 slant to the new owners I’d prefer, but I’m not gonna jinx it by saying anything. We shall wait and see.

Something I never expected to hear - **FCD **acknowledged that maybe it would be a good idea to sell the boat and just charter when we wanted to go sailing. I rather like that idea we wouldn’t have the slip expense or the cost of maintenance, and frankly, we hardly ever go out any more. I can’t recall the last time we slept on this boat - I think it was before daughter got married, so over 3 years. We were going to have a planning talk about our last working years and how to spend retirement, so we shall see how that goes.

Feel better, sickies!

Mmmmmm, sesame balls. I have a recipe for a brioche dough filled with red bean paste if you want it LiLi. Speaking of which, I might have to make some of that this weekend.

I’m so very very unmotivated right now. I don’t think there’s going to be much more work getting done this afternoon.

Fish tacos for dinner!

I’m sorry about Charley, Moommm.
Saturday 10 days ago Dad got this flu that’s going around. I’ve been worried that it’s turning into pneumonia. Last night he decided he wanted to go to the doctor. I took off work, and it turns out his doctor doesn’t see patients on Wednesday.

So we went to the ER. His nausea and inability to poop (deja vu!) is what’s bothering him the most. I’m most worried about the mucus in his chest. The lady that took his vitals said everything was normal except for his blood oxygen.

After chest x-rays and bloodwork, no flu, no pneumonia, lungs clear, nothing major wrong.

Thay gave him a script for antibiotics, and one for the nausea. I took them to the pharmacy, and their computers are down. <sigh>

You know what though? I’m glad it’s not bad.

You know what else? There’s nothing much better than coming home tired and laying on the bed, and being covered in doggie kisses.

Off to make daddy some soup…

(I fixed it for you)
I couldn’t agree more

Howdy Y’all! I am pretty much recovered. The BLT and fries I et went down real good. So, back to irk tomorrow.

Hope everyone else who’s got the sick if gettin’ better.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Yeah, they both work.

Glad you’re better Swampus.

Glad you liked my link.

Hope the work stuff improves, taxi. I can’t believe that you’ve already been there over 4 years! How time flies.

Hope your Dad is better soon, Rebo.

Have been working on park stuff, trying to sort junk out and make sure I’ve got everything ready for this weekend’s meeting.

But first I’m off to beddie bye.

Hugs all.

GT

Hey y’all, I’m around, beset with the blues. The kind where I just go down into my (imaginary) basement and dig holes. I want someone else to be the boss for a while.

In large it is due to the fact that I cannot get the kids (18 and 19, ought to be a bit more biddable than they are) to help unpack the last of the boxes. I understand leaving my books in boxes until I have shelves for them, but there is still clothing, stuff to put up on the walls, and more “treasures” like my classic pooh porcelain collection, and other things I am not giving up. I did get my basket of Japanese glass floats unpacked, washed and put back in their basket. I think the living room is going to be my Alaska room.

Le sigh…

FCM I am so sorry that Charlene left so soon, but you gave her a good end of life, and sometimes that is what counts.

As always, this too shall pass, I just wanted to give you guys a shout out, let you know that I am lurking…back under the rock…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN It’s back to irk today, which is good cause I feel better and I missed goin’.

{{{wiki}}} just cause it sounds like you need a hug.

'Tis chillier out than it has been for a few days. Still not bad, the temp thingy says 49 Amurrkin, just cooler than it has been for a few days.

Ok, now I must seek out more caffiene and brekkie for rumbly tumbly. Then, purtification for irk must be accomplished.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

I never thought I’d see the day when I was HAPPY to go to irk.

Computers are set up. VWife was impressed that I thought ahead and bought a wireless network dongle for her 'puter, because it saved time and hassle when I resurrected her desk last night.

Dogs are confused, but happy to have their humans around. The cats are hiding, and there’s lots of places for them to lurk at the moment.

I have a new addition to what has become known as VunderBob’s Law. Entry 1, which I’ve been saying for about 15 years: If you dock the tail of a Boxer, then the tongue will grow in length to compensate. The new part: The level of suckness in a relocation increases exponentially as a function of the volume of the material being moved.

Carry on. I need another cup of WTHU.

Times the cube of the mass, multiplied by the square of amount of people whose items are being moved.

Good on you for the dongle thing.

Woke up with a headache around 3:00 last night. Probably due to the stress of the day. I finally got back to sleep just as the alarm went off, but I still can’t shake it. I wish I could have called off work again, just to have a day to chill… Tomorrow’s my Friday off, though. Not a chill day, unfortunately. Dentist at 9:00, diabetes clinic at 2:00. Bah! I’m sick of doctors.

Good to see you, wiki! I say get a switch after those teenagers…

Glad you’re feeling better, Swampy.

Yay for one less stressful thing, Bobbbio.

I can haz nap now?

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

Hey, wiki!

VBob, that’s why next time I move, anything that doesn’t fit in the Escort is being burned. Gordie is currently #124 on the load list.

5:33 AM: alarm. swearing. snooze button

5:43; 5:53 - ditto

5:54 - reset alarm for 6:33

6:33 AM: see 5:33 above.

7:15 AM: ok fine, if you insist, but I am NOT pleased.

Howdy Y’all! Sneakin’ in a post whilst there’s a lull. I’m helpin’ folks look at Medigap Plans this mornin’ at the center in Da Burg. I’ll see a couple more folks in a few minutes but after that it’s Bingo and lunch time. Can’t interrupt either one of those now can I?

Ok, back to irk.

Yeah, those customers might knock your cards off the table.

Much like the volume of your possessions expands to fill the container. Last year, we went from a 3-room house to a 5-room house. Now, we have stuff in all rooms.

Last year’s move was …trying. I do not look forward to our eventual next move.

Video of the sprinkler demo from last weekend can be found here.

That news clip wasn’t that long… Four hours and nobody’s had anything to say? And we’re still only on Page 2 on a Thursday afternoon?
