The I Don't Have A Topic MMP

Mouton Cadet white for me, please.

I always just grab a box or two from the people restocking the shelves.

You should thank her for brightening up your day with the jokes.

Don’t think I’ve seen anybody maskless in stores since early December, though I have seen two or three noses.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sort. And it’s my Firday, and both the Packers and Canes play today. :cheese: :ice_hockey:

Finally stopped snowing and now it’s below freezing. Went for a walk yesterday in the snow and turned around when we decided we didn’t want to be the ones making the path. The snow’s above the top of our boots.

Tomorrow there’s more snow to come, so today we’ll go for another walk.

As it is quite cold, we’re having cheese fondue for a late lunch, with bread, apples and bell pepper for dipping.

I suspect I forgot to pay the quarterly U.S. taxes which were due yesterday. Need to figure that out and put a check in the mail, if necessary. Time is weird.

Hubby’s made me a latte, so I better get started on that.

Happy Saturday!

Morning, mumpers! It was raining and miserable when I went out this morning, now I’m back home it’s sunny and bright. Weather app says “Of all the normal, mild, cloudy days, this is fucking one of them”, and promises me 7C/45F up to 9C/47F which is not too shabby.

I was up and about quite early this morning, I had a letter a while ago summoning me to an eye appointment at 9.10am today, and a text the other day warning of dire consequences should I fail to attend and not let them know in advance. So I dutifully took myself to the whore’s pistol…and behold, the eye dept was deserted. Went next door to the referral clinic and the nurse told me they’d cancelled all the appointments, but apparently hadn’t told anyone as I wasn’t the first to turn up wondering what was going on. Since I was already out, I decided to go for a drive for the sake of the car’s battery health, so off I went up the motorway, blasted some good music and came back through a slightly more scenic country route.

I have no other plans for the day, both the events I was supposed to be at today are cancelled, as you might expect. Books and a bit of writing looks good to me. My turn to make dinner so it shall be chilli with rice for 'im indoors and sallit for me.

nellie good to see you are hanging on, sending you hugs and positive thoughts.

Sunny good news on the weight loss, well done to you!

Well, Dry January is half over and we’re on the home straight…only two more weeks to go! Can’t say it’s been tough because it hasn’t, although I do miss my Friday night espresso martini.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN I was a slugabed until seven a.m.! I blame it all on the late night partyin’. I did not go to bed until ten-thirty last night. 'Tis 36 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 53 and N.O.S. for the day. Today shall be devoted to sloth. Hippie inspired me, so we shall break the fast for sup. I’m in the mood for a ham 'n cheese omelet, grits, and bizkits. Might even do some hash browns, if I decide to go wild.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, onward into the day! Rah,

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

It’s (semi)bread machine bread. I let the machine mix up the dough, then I formed it on the baking sheet, let it finish rising, then baked it. OMG, it was amazing! I just had one of the last 2 slices for breakfast. I plan to toss the same herbs into the pizza dough when I make that the next time, which will be soon! YUM!

We had rain overnight - enough that there’s a puddle in the driveway, but it’s above freezing, so there’s that. I’ve got a pile of envelopes to mail for FCD’s business (wrapping up the year as the company has been dissolved) plus one of my own. Not sure what else needs doing today. Since he’s officially finished his last project, I expect he’ll be working on setting up his shop for personal use, so I may be helping him with that. There’s still crap in the basement to be moved.

I’m going to take the RoxStar to the Marine Museum on Thursday, giving SIL a little break. He’s still not heard about when he’ll go back to work - I think he’s more than ready. In fact, he wants me to take her a couple of days a week. Thinking about it - if he’ll deliver her I may do it. I just don’t want to have to get up at 5 to fetch her.

It’s clean-the-critter-fountain day! WOOHOO! Everything else will be spontaneous!

Happy Saturday!!

Morning all. Indoor soccer day, will start about 10am and finish about 5pm, so expect I’ll be tired some. 34F heading for 41F and wet too boot, so a good day for being inside,

boo fae, sounds like a well-run operation… And some scenic driving is always good for one.

red, ouch on the bone spurs, hope they get taken care of soon.

swampy, sometimes I think my resistance to new tech like your advanced phone is that figuring out all the directions and stuff would overwhelm me (heck, a stopwatch these days can overwhelm me…). Hope it all works out.

Ok, need to break fast and then get ready for the rugrats running about the gym. All y’all take care.

metal mouse, at this point, the bone spurs won’t be taken care of until covid is under control. Even if the hospitals were doing elective surgery of that nature now, I wouldn’t want to risk getting infected.

Up, caffeinated, breakfasted, a load of towels ready for the dryer and fixing to do KP before getting sheveled to go see about new shoes. There was no snow on the ground when I walked Nelson this morning (it was above freezing by then), but it’s still a raw, windy day.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Lunch break! We’ve made progress in the shop - some cleaning, some organizing. After lunch, I’m going to set about organizing and labeling the many and sundry fasteners. I also threw a load of towels in the washer, and they’ll go in the dryer before we head out again.

Supper tonight will definitely be leftovers, as the fridge has far too many. That’s as far ahead as I’ve thought.

Morning everybody! A bright, sunny day here in SoCal. Through poor planning on my part I have nothing scheduled to do today. This is a Bad Thing, especially since today is the wife’s birthday and I really need to be distracted lest I fixate and spiral into a not-pleasant state. So out I go to do errands that don’t really need to be run, then chores that also don’t really need to be done quite yet. Oh, well.

Projected highs ranging up to 72F within the next couple of days. This is still January, right?

The Princess is yelling at me to let her outside. Not yet, it’s still only in the low 50s outside, which is too cold to have the patio door open. Stupid cat apparently felt I’d slept late enough, so kept pacing the perimeter of the bed until I was too awake to drop off again.

Dunno whether what erranding needs to happen will be today or tomorrow. Any productivity over the weekend is TBD.

So it was bright and sunny when I go off, but was dreary and cold by the time I got home. Doing some laundry before the games.

Sometime after noon on the 20th.

11:30, and we’ve just finished breakfast.

The food processor (that I use for shredding the potatoes) is finally dead. A new bowl costs nearly as much as a new machine. :frowning:

Evening all.

Despite some questionable overloaded driving, I’m here. I left some more stuff in Bristol, because I really did have too much in the car- luckily the roads are empty, and I could take my time.

It’s a pretty big house- 7 people living here, but the ones I’ve met seem nice- unfortunately they’ve all told me that one of the residents I haven’t met is, well… They have an assortment of words. Despite the supposed lockdown, he’s been out for a few days, at the girl du l’heure’s house- or houses.

It’s OK, anyway; not great, a bit messy, but OK. It’s cheap.

Quite a few of the plants got pretty squished, and I had to chuck most of the bedding, so I’ll be in a sleeping bag until I can get to a shop which is open that sells it. There’s probably a supermarket open, but I’m not sure where, and the car’s still too full o junk to drive- the way it was stacked before, it was so tightly wedged nothing was going anywhere, but now it’s basically junk jenga. I’ve got the bookcase put back together, so I can start getting the car properly emptied (I needed to leave enough floor space to get it together), but it’s dark, and I’m tahred, so I’ll probably only get a few more bits in before I give up for the night. Still not worked out how everything’s going to fit in. That’s tomorrow’s job.

Welcome home and enjoy your rest. Hope some of your new roomies are able to give you a hand tomorrow and not only lighten the load but give you a sense of potential new friends.

Can Amazon ship you new bedding in a couple of days? Both my son and my roomie got foam mattresses in a box and have been quite happy with them.

Glad you got there safely.

Howdy Y’all! Another day of futzin’ around here at da cave. I played with my new phone some more and played on teh intartoobz. OYKW teevee binged. We both achieved nappage. Sup was ham ‘n cheese omelets, hash browns, and frozen bizkits (don’t judge!) which I thoughtfully thawed and baked. Now more futzin’ continues.

Nuts glad you made it safe and relatively sound to your new digs. May you be happy there and at the new gig.

Howdy. I still live. I finally finished all that mess of training just as my new boss signed me up for a 12 day budgeting class. Then there is a whole other site with tons of nothing but safety training that I have not even looked at. It all pays the same, it all pays the same…

I did something interesting today. I took my new purple handgun and went to a gun safety class and then to the shooting range and shot it but not too much because there is an ammo shortage right now. I shot probably half what I own and saved the other half for the first person I need to shoot. I must say I was a pretty good shot and the instructor said my little gun was very accurate for its size. I shall go practice some more when I can get more ammo. I have a shotgun but didn’t shoot it. This course will allow me to get a concealed carry permit which I don’t see happening as I work on federal property and no guns allowed and I never go anywhere else. I just need to have a way to protect myself in my home.

The instructor for the class itself was quite a character. I would go again just to hear his tales. He also only has one leg from an IED in Iraq.

Other than that I got nothing. I have not yet read this weeks MMP as when I’m not training I’ve been watching the shitshow that is the news. Lord help us all.

Glad you got there safe and sound Nut. Hope everything turns out better than hoped.

You might visit your local thrift stores. Some people ‘donate’ things like that that are not working properly.

Not my business, but what kinda handgun did you get? Not that I’m liable to have any useful advice, except to practice, which you’re already doing.

Gotta go now, dinner (BLTs) is on tap.

You can get BLTs out of a tap? Amazing.

Maybe I’ll do that before going to BB&B.
