I did not. Mrs. L.A. has a speaker tower, but we never use it. It’s a bit of a PITA, what with the separate remote control and balky buttons.

**nellie **- I’m actually concerned that I won’t have enough to keep me occupied most of the day. There are a few folks I’ll go say good-bye to, but mostly, I don’t interact with anyone outside of my group. I’ll try to allot an hour at the end of the day to walk around.

My mom was afraid she’d be bored. She volunteered at a soup kitchen, the senior center, and an elementary school and was as busy as she’d been when working.
My last day working was insane: last day of the school year, last day of my career, and I had to catch a flight 30 minutes after the final bell rang. I was literally running all day. But I got flowers and gifts and cards. One kid made me a cake. I left in tears. I still miss teaching, but man, I do NOT miss the administrative crap!

flytrap, I had an app on my GalaxyS4 that I could use as a remote. I rarely used it that way, so when I got a new TV (and later a new phone), I didn’t set it up.
Today was much better at irk than yesterday. Once I got off irk though, yeesh. I’m beginning to check out other phone carriers after being with AT&T for a couple of decades. The sad part of it is that their actual service is good in my area (not all are), but their billing sucks. I went to the store here in town to try to get it straightened out and after 50 minutes there (30 of it waiting my turn in the queue), the only thing accomplished was paying my bill (the kiosk was out of service). I just want either a decent website to pay or a damn paper bill. Is that so hard?
I felt kind of bad for the old bat today. She wound up in HR and put on PIP (personal improvement plan). Her sleeping on the job before everyone else gets in and disappearing for an hour or two at a time bit her in the ass via security cameras everywhere. The sad part of the deal is that for the past 14 years, she’s had a supe and manager who were mostly good old boys who just left her do (or not do) whatever. Our current manager came in in March and the new supe in September and don’t buy having a gold brick on the team with our reduced force. Previous leadership should have taken her in hand long before she was this close to retirement. I’m thinking she’ll get out earlier than she had planned.
I’m so buying pistachios Christmas gifts.

Evening all. Did a little miscellaneous shopping (4 2-Liter Pepsi’s, 3 pair of scissors, 8 plastic glasses and some hamburger buns–not sure you can get more miscellaneous than that). All traces of the snow are gone and it’s actually rather pleasant outside.
flyboy, I was just curious about the soundbar. I didn’t know they were even a thing till I started looking at TV’s today. Given that it’s just for me and I’ll only be sitting 8-10 feet away, I think I can do without.

I got the most of the huge pile of laundry put away today. It was too much to carry upstairs in one trip, but since there is more to be done I didn’t feel like making two trips. Another load has been washed and dried, another load is in the dryer, and another load is on the drying rack.
Cards are done, addressed, signed, sealed, stamped and ready to go to the post office. Next year I am buying cards that have something printed inside them so I don’t have to write something, I get a lot of commpliments on my handwriting, and have even had people ask me to write things for them, but you’d never know it by the time I was getting to the end of the pile. I also had to tape all the envelopes shut, the glue on the envelopes wasn’t holding. Whatever happened to Christmas seals, those pretty stamps you’d use to seal the envelopes?
I got the rug turned around in the bedroom, what a job that was.
It’s running the right way now, but it’s off center. Eventually, I’ll move it over a bit. I’m too tired to fool with it anymore tonight.
My new socks are charged up for tomorrow. Supposed to be 23 degrees in the morning.

** Buddyboy** has shown zero interest in the tree so far. I think I shall send the fence back unopened. There are no gifts under it yet and not even the tree skirt cause I do think he will mess with that stuff at floor level. Our cat is almost ten years old and has shown no interest yet.
Hubby packed a huge suitcase and I think he will regret it. His BD is tomorrow so I gave him a T-shirt that has a picture of three cats ( one could be ours) and it reads “if it’s not a tuxedo it’s just a cat”. He is so hard to buy for. He acted like he likes it. Our neighbor brought over a small BD cake and I asked his kids to make sure to buy one for when he arrives. They are cooking a big meal and will probably have the grands and the little great grand there. I hope they do it up nice for him. As he ages he seems to like a fuss made thus the huge Christmas tree and other decorations. It was downright hot today and he said he had a hundred calls for A/C and as soon as it gets in the 60’s he will get heat calls.
I have the A/C on now. Muggy.

Same here Nettie. I ate nothing. Just so tired and over everything.
I won’t be able to sleep unless I have something in my stomach, and very much need sleep. Did also eat some Doritos. I’m well aware my dietary habits are highly dubious. Not sure I care right now.
Today I wrapped presents, walked to store to buy more wrapping paper, A friend came over to visit. And I went to the gym despite pain. So not too bad. I also made Johnny LA’s Fish Florentine. Oh, my. Scrumptious. I’ll make it again.
Yet another near-miss today. I was walking through the apt. complex parking lot on my way to the office. It was 4:30 PM and just dark. I had on my blinky lights and carried my flashlight. As I walked through a parking spot to cross to the office, a pickup turned into the spot and almost hit me. I cried out and skittered back onto the sidewalk. Of course, he wasn’t going too fast, but he never stopped. I don’t understand how he didn’t see me. The space next to this one was vacant, and there there was a small car in the next spot to that. I guess he was distracted.
It’s a nice, rainy evening. I love rain. Good thing.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 45 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 51 with rain this afternoon, tonight, and tomorrow. Fine by me. I have no need to leave da cave today. I shall spend some time today straightenin’ up the storage room in the garage. We keep cleanin’ supplies, paper towels, tp, and assorted other stuff in there and it’s gotten kinda messy. Other than that it will be a Netflix kinda day. Sup shall be steak, garlic smashed N.O.T., sallit, and cheesey bread. YUM!
