but how do you know they’re not?
gardentraveler, I hear there is a serious winter ice storm headed for Ohio. Please, stay safe, don’t go out if you don’t have to.
Still snowing. The paved areas are just wet, organic areas are white-ish. No shoveling, so there’s that.
I’ve got 6 towels just about ready for stenciling - they’ll all be Merry Crabmas towels. So very festive! In fact, I need to print out some more Merry Crabmas iron-on labels. Busy, busy!!
[sup]10[/sup]
Happy Sunday!
It’s fuckin’ snowing outside.
I hate snow! Nobody told me it was going to snow, now I have to go out in the snow.
If I had known it was going to snow today I would have gone out yesterday!
Now my phone app is showing snow
and what it is referring to as flurries.
Flurries my ass, there’s at least an inch on the cars, the road is covered and it’s coming down hard.
Yay! Survived the weekend!
It didn’t wind up being so late last night, and there was really very little trouble (save for a single horrible 50ish year old woman who threw a massive hissy fit because we wouldn’t let her take a balloon that was part of the decorations home ).
All in all, it wasn’t too bad, though I’m very glad I’m off tomorrow. Also glad I’m not getting the same weather as some of you guys, especially as I wond up doing so much standing out in it… Brrr…
**sari **- we had ice pellets falling here a bit ago. Unless we have warmer air come thru tonight, I’ll be going in late in the morning. I don’t do icy roads!
Happy Sunday-Funday all,
I have survived a week anna half of irk hell and last night’s motorcycle ride home, which involved…
1 icy bridge over I-10(Holy Cr*p ICE, do not wipe out and fall 40ft to the freeway and get crushed by traffic)
1 close encounter with a drunk vehicle and by close I mean close. Look, I know you are drunk and deciding between Mickey D’s and WhataBurger is hard but Right Turns from the Left Lane are still a NO NO. I am pretty sure the cop that followed you into the WB drive thru saw that “Ace” manouver. I know he heard me, with my choice commentary on your “Mad Driving Skillz” as did everyone within a half mile or so. If you would have hit me the cop might have been able to prevent the rectal helmet insertion you were surely to receive but he would have had to be right quick.
I did OTOH wake up happy as my show cancelled today because the gear semi was frozen to the pavement in Dallas. Thusly I did not have to be at IRK at 7am. My apologies to the 5800 ticket holders to “Yo Gabba Gabba” but we were doing the “Happy Dance” on the back dock when we got the word.
Even better, I don’t lose a days pay because the PA company has to come in Monday and bring me stuff that works while I get to yell at them about it being broken. I enjoy this and I get show pay for it. I also get to watch them do all the work. Sometimes life is wonderful.
I also get to go to Band practice today
So in short even after 2 NDEs and being as cold as a Witches T*T, I am a happy clam and hoping I am exuding enough warmth to melt all the SNOW! my poor Northerly Mumpers are dealing with.
Happy Sunday all
Jim
All deheathenated and had N.O.L. plus cleaned up the rest of the mess outside on the deck and washed up the outdoor cooker. Go Me!
My inner twelve year old boy managed to get through the readin’ quite well today. I did look pointedly at the peanut gallery (where OYKW, the crazy girls and I sit) while I said “the line.” Their inner twelve year old selves had quite the <snerk>! We also had “sway with Jay” today. See, YP (AKA Fr. Jay) has a kinda habit of swayin’ to hymns. Seriously, he does this little side to side motion thing to a lot of hymns. So, we cooked up “sway with Jay” and sent out an email to everyone that we would “sway with Jay” durin’ the Post-Communion hymn. Everyone was told to look at the choir director and when she started to sway on the second verse, we’d all start to sway. YP cracked up and even started to do a hand sway as well, which we all joined in on. Afterwards when our Associate Priest stood at the Altar to lead the Post-Communion Prayer she said, “let us sway, I mean pray.”
We be a silly bunch of Whiskypalians down at ol’ St. Pat’s!
I’s tahrd. I foresee a little nappy poo in my near future.
According to my phone app it is supposed to be in the mid 40s tomorrow, so everything should melt. However my phone app never said it was going to snow until after it was laying in the road.
I wanted to go get some groceries today, now I don’t want to go out at all. Even if the roads aren’t bad carrying all the bags in through the snow is a pita.
Poor Sah-dog won’t go out because he’s afraid of the stairs when they have snow on them. He won’t let anybody pick him up to carry him out either. Fortunately I put him out early before the snow started so he’s not desperate.
No fixing the toilet today since I can’t go get the part, but my mother says she’s going to pay to have it fixed because she wants some other work done too.
::sigh:: I wanted some chocolate.
My towels are done!!! I just had a piece of cake. Now I’m going to learn how to do a water change since that’ll fall to me next month when **FCD **is staying in FL to help out his folks.
rah.
At least there was cake.
… and I just learned how to do a water change. The system my sweetie has set up makes it easy-peasy, especially compared to when we first started. Back in the olden days, we bought RO water and had 25 gallon jugs to open and pour into a giant trash can into which we dumped salt and a big pump to mix it up. And we emptied the old water into buckets that I carried to the bathroom to dump.
Now we open a valve and the water drains right into the bathtub and away. We make water in a 35-gallon tank that has a pump and heater inside, controlled by switches on the wall, so we just dump the salt in, let it heat up and mix up, then turn a couple of valves and it fills the sump again. So I’m ready to deal with it next month.
It’s raining pretty hard right now - poor Higgs was not happy going out to pee, but she finally did what she had to do.
Time to knit. Supper will be leftovers. Nothing more to be accomplished today.
Been a lazy afternoon at da cave. Alas, ‘tis Sunday evenin’ and Moanday mornin’ looms.
Going out for a friend’s birthday party. Cold and wet outside.
doggio you could start us off tomorrow with tales of the raucous good time you had at the party!
Moooooooom! You better get over to swampy’s fb page! He’s picking on me again!
I shall effect whatever rescues I may.
-TH White, Lancelot, some novel or other just before a Lady in Distress tricks him.
Back from deheathenating, cheeseburgers cooking. Major agenda for the evening involves gathering needs for tomorrow (out and around by public transit, since DH needs the car for meetings he needs to go to) and juicing 25lb. of carrots.
Sorry, neither.
