The I'm up early MMP!

There is a shut off valve, so maybe I’ll try to fix it.
I used to be good at doing little things around the house, living here for 16 years got me out of it.
All it is (I think) is the little cap piece attached to the hose the water comes out of to fill the tank broke off the black cylinder it sits on top of. I can set it back on top but after a few flushes it falls off into the tank. Then when the black cylinder raises up during the flush the little cap piece lodges under the cylinder so it can’t go all the way back down. Then the water runs but the tank never fills.

At least I think that is how it works.

Whenever I need to fix the terlet I always feel like I’ve done sump’n big. I fix other stuff around da cave and it’s no big deal. Somehow though, fixin’ the terlet is like some kinda big accomplishment with me.

Every thing is all set up and readied for the fryin’ of fishies. I’m lookin’ forward to me some fried up catfish filets. I haven’t et since the grea pancake/sausage/bacon gluttony this a.m. so I’m commencin’ to feel a little hongry.

I know what you mean Swampy.

It’s probably the least complicated thing in the house but it is one of the most important.
The last time I fixed one though, all I need was a length of coat hanger wire and some pliers.

As you are going through the hassle of turning off the water and messing around in the tank, replacing the whole thing saves you several other repairs.

Poke is smelling yummerrific. **FCD **just ran to Food Lion to get some chips and fresh buns. When he returns, we shall eat. I’s hongree, so I hope he doesn’t take too long!

how’s the cake?

Laundry is done, oil is changed in the truck, but Rory needs $$$$ in new seals and axle repairs.

Poke was really yum - no effort at all to shred it for sammiches, and my sweetie picked up some really good buns. No cake yet - we’s both stuffded at the moment.

I think it’s time to assume the knit position. MWAH!!

cake!

You McGyvered the terlet. Impressive!

Fish 'n trimmin’s have been consumed. A good time was had by all. Everyone is gone and the kitchen is all cleanded up. We’s tahrd but happy with the success of it all.

MOOOOOOM Sonny’s BBQ sauce makes all things good, does it not!

ETA for Rosie the cake was good.

We won! There will be many unhappy people at work on Monday.

Trying to get sleepy.

Hugs all.

GT

My cake was good, too! We didn’t have any till maybe 8 - it took that long for the poke to settle.

Thanks to Higgs, I’m up early again, but I don’t want to sleep in since it’ll just make it more difficult to get up tomorrow. So here I am. Temp hovering around freezing, and it’s supposed to stay there all day. The 10-day forecast has an awful lot of 20s in it - brrrrrrrrr! Not sure what today’s plans are, but I’m pretty sure they mostly involve staying inside.

Two weeks from today, we head to Florida. I’ve got a few things to get together for my kid, plus I have something I want to make for her, so busy busy… Frankly, I’m glad it’s coming fast - I just want Christmas to be over and for life to get back to normal. Bah, humbug and all that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Sunday anyway!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a foggy 57 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 72 and sunny for the day. The nice thing about the past few days is bein’ able to open windows in da cave. Haven’t needed the a/c or heat and today will be the same. However, the weather PTB say a cold front is comin’ through this week.

MOOOOOOM I know what you mean. All I want to do anymore is just get through the time between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. Bah Humbug! I’m what Scrooge would have remained if’n all that Ghost of Christmas Past, Present, and Future business hadn’t taken.

Now I need more caffiene and should consider sustenance for rumbly tummy. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence. As I mentioned a few days back, I am a Lector this mornin’ and have to read “The nursing child shall play over the hole of the asp” without crackin’ up.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

**swampy **- I dare you to read it as if you’re in a Monty Python skit!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

“The boys of the NYPD Choir were singing Galway Bay…” Bringing out the Christmas music on YouTube.

We had our theatre group Christmas party/potluck yesterday. Afterwards, I rode the subway and bus home with the conductor, who’s an old friend of mine. We talked about music and Sugar Sammy and life and stuff. Good times.

Going downtown today.

There’s something white falling outside - not snow, because it bounces as it hits. ugh.

I’m showered and dressed in a comfy sweatsuit - no plans to venture forth today. Cat box is cleaned, excess ashes have been scooped from pellet stove, and I think I’ll stencil a few towels, then make another stocking cap. That should fill my day.

Gordie work me up at 7:45. It’s 34 and drizzly here.

Do it! Do it! Do it!

“Sinatra was swinging
All the drunks they were singing
We kissed on the corner
Then danced through the night..”

I love Fairytale in New York

It’s snowing for real now - I don’t expect it to last long, but it’s the first snow of the season. ick.

Here’s a holiday themed vid to enjoy.

eta: blurf.

 Just glad they’ve not the Headless Monks.
