Gotti, talk to your doctor(s) about referral to a pain clinic, and also referral to a therapist who deals with pre/post op stuff. In the menatime, I send gentle pats and kind thoughts to you.

If you played better than them, are they Creamed Korn?

Only if Ginger Baker is on the gig

Jim

If they were career military would they be Whole Kernel Korn?

Sittin’ up here in the north forty whilst folks take a test on the ‘puter. I’m either monitorin’ or proctorin’. What I am is boooooooooooooooooored! However, this must be done and so get done it will.

Happy Thorsday!

It’s a wet foggy rainy icky day. 52 degrees with a high of 64. It won’t be so bad to go out in, anything is better than cold.
Today is the second day this week that I overslept and barely logged in on time.

I get to walk piddlepup today.
Outside of that it’s just another boring day of irk.

I was thinking of asking you about what you do and who you work for–I’m looking into the idea of working from home once I move up to Maine, and while my research is still at the most basic level, it’s always more helpful to hear from somebody who actually does the work.

Hugs for Midget and Gotti, ouchies are no fun at all. :frowning:

Last night I was determined to get our tree up–the problem being that with the new kitchen table and Roomie taking over what used to be the library, we no longer have room for it. I was thinking maybe I could get one of the Big Comfy Chairs into the back hall and just deal with it for the next month, but the chair is much wider than the hallway. So then I thought we could push the kitchen table to the absolute limit of where it can be, and shove a chair in between that and the stairs. Chair is also wider than that space.

Around this time, Roomie suggested we just get a small tree this year, and I was having none of that, for some reason. I managed to cram the tree into the kitchen/stairs space, and while it looks pretty awkward, the damn thing is up and decorated and radiating cheer. So take that. Which I realize is probably not an attitude one should have about their Christmas tree, but I don’t think it’s all that uncommon.

I must’ve found some defective caffeine because the current dosage is not having the required effect.

Hardee’s makes a good burger. Good enough to almost make travelin’ around the north and west forty ok. BTW here I sit in the west forty [del]torturin’[/del] testin’ folks. Stoopid literacy testin’.

HEE Drae! I WILL put this too big tree up and we WILL be full of holiday cheer dammit!

The sucking continues.

Last night, our fish died suddenly. No idea why, the tank was cycled, ammonia, nitrates, nitrites were all at zero, pH 6.8, which collectively is darn near perfect, aside from the pH that could stand to be at 7. By the time we were aware anything was wrong, they were unable to swim away from the filter intake.

Fish have hearts, brains and so on. Do fish have heart attacks or strokes?

I once had a friend who liked to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving, and she invited anybody who had a problem with it to “kiss her holly jolly ass.” I felt a little bit like that last night.

Hugs for anyone who needs them. Take one just for fun, or a lot if you need more.

I’m still feeling relief every time I turn the key and the car starts right up. I wonder how long it will take for that to dissipate. We had a cold snap last night (30 deg F) and the new battery is still fresh and energetic. Supposed to be cold at night for awhile. Good thing I have insulation in one wall and a warm dog.

My son made up a big container of very vegetable chili beans (with ground meat - not vegetarian, just a lot of vegetables added). I’ve been warming some up for breakfast all week. It’s been working fine with two cheeses on the top.

What kind of fish in what size tank?

12 gallons, one ordinary goldfish, not quite two inches long. We originally had three in the tank - just plain “feeder” fish, rather than fancy orandas.

Finally back from the daily travels. However still at irk, so boo. I have been told, told, mind you, that I am bein’ taken out for dindin. Don’t know where and don’t care where bein’ as I will not have to cook or clean up. Thus, I am hangin’ at the orifice cause it’s easier to meet up in town. I’d like Mexican comestibles. Yeah! That’d be good.

gotti sorry about the fish. Poor fish.

Steak and chikin fajitas in my near future. YAY!!!

**gotti **- your pH freaked me out - ours needs to be around 8, but then we have a saltwater tank.

I left work early today so’s I could get my pottery to the store - mission accomplished. Plus I mailed off a special order and did my 35 minutes on the recumbent bike. Go me.

Supper will be some sort of yellow rice dish - whatever I decide to throw into it with fake crab.

Not much else to share - I’m marginally frazzled. Happy Thursday. Send chocolate!!! <headdesk>

It’s frigid out there.

It’s 61° out here. It won’t last, but I’ll take what I can get.

Supper was OK, and there’s enough left over for my lunch tomorrow, so yay for that. Shortly, I will assume the knit position. This has been a heck of a week…

Steak ‘n chikin fajitas have been consumed. We are two stuffded peoples. Alas, OYKW had to go deal with more paperirk this evenin’. Anywho, I peeled some N.O.T. and now have some ham/N.O.T./corn soup simmerin’ on the stove. I’m doin’ this even though it’s 77 Amurrkin out and not soup weather but I got me a gnawin’ and a cravin’.
