The Independence Day MMP

You know about this “Witless Protection Program” first hand, Dogbutt? :dubious:

Have fun on your cruise sunny!

We arrived at the cabin about lunch time and got some riding in this afternoon. We just finished supper at the barbeque at the Dragon Pitt Inn. I’s sunburned and tahred.

OK – Da Jungle has reached new heights of low. Volume was odd again but I found out I may be getting fired for abandoning my job. It seems the wonderful system set up for us to report our planned vacations/UPT-taking did NOT talk to the other fine electronic systems and since I didn’t report for work for more than three consecutive days (basically the week of the 18th) they have started the procedures to release me. I have the images and evidence that I did indeed do exactly what we are supposed to do so I am betting this gets straightened out. Maybe. Eventually. With a lot of effort on my part of course. But how much of my time (off the clock of course) is it going to take? :smack:  :smack:
I have mentioned a time or two how I feel about HR, right? Multiply that my about a billion and you have an idea of my mood right now. And this after I agreed to double on my day off to help bail them out from unexpected high volume. :smack:

Seriously, if it wasn’t for HR, especially our current local crop of said creatures, this could be one of the best jobs out there. With them though being a WalMart greeter or saying “would you like fires with that” sounds … plausible.

So I’m taking the opportunity of a weather-related cancelation (& the accompanying opportunity to sleep in) to… GET UP EVEN EARLIER & go to the big bridge & [del]jump[/del] get sunrise shots.

I REALLY hope the pedestrian walkway is open 24x7!

Face up to it, Ruble - you’re just a slacker looking to get your way at the expense of everyone else in the whole world! You may be able to bamboozle your employer, but we have you figured out! :stuck_out_tongue: Good luck - I hope it’s ultimately worth the irritation, etc.

I got up early to start work early. I just couldn’t get motivated to do anything last night - my brain was fried!!

Daughter and SIL may have come up with a solution to the cat-peeing problem. They’re going to fix up a portion of my studio as a little living room where they can watch TV and hang with their critters, keeping them out of the upstairs. I know I won’t be playing in clay any time soon. I do need to put a bunch of my stuff away, but that’ll leave them some space where they can plug in their little fridge, have a bathroom nearby, and even do their laundry while watching TV. That’s part of why I’m starting early - so I can get some stuff done down there to prep it for them.

Here’s hoping that’ll cause Taz to chill somewhat.

So, to work with me!! Happy Firday!!

Happy Firday!

Up too early again today. thanks bladder.

It’s not going to be as hot today, only getting into the low 80s. Suppose to rain some more, I suppose mowage and whackage will have to wait unti tomorrow.

Freudian slip?
Land line is fixed.
Cell phone still screwed up.
Bill got paid.

Happy Cruisin’ Sunny.

Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. Off to work.

Sounds like somebody is getting burnt out.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 and N.O.S. out with a predicted high of 92 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. No biggie plans for the day. I foresee some quality cee-mint pond time. YAY! [del]Boxed[/del] Stouffer’s[sup]TM[/sup] Lasagna, sallit, and cheesey garlic bread shall be supped upon. OYKW returns late this afternoon. YAY! Also, I was a slugabed this mornin’. I didn’t get up until seven of the a.m.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day!

Happy Firday Y’all!

Afternoon, mumpers! It is another glorious day over here in the not-very-wet midlands. I came in to work at my normal time today and will be here late as I am herding students for photos this evening. That delightful job starts around 6.30pm and I’ll be heading home straight afterwards. Probably means I won’t be home until 9pm at the earliest.

Laundry tonight, quick dinner (leftover risotto in the fridge) and then off to bed 'cos I have to be up at the crack of sparrow’s fart to get the 7.37am train to Glasgae. Short trip to Scotland for ‘im indoors’ mum’s birthday dinner, home on Sunday evening. I’ll leave extra food and water out for the mogs who will probably spend the entire weekend sleeping and won’t even notice I’ve gone.

Read all, recall little.

Off to the tail again.

I’m not the Temptations. :frowning:

Was hoping it would be better than forecast, it was worse; only looked outside but never went anywhere other than back to sleep.

You know you’re a parent when…

you don’t need an alarm to wake up. Your toddler just climbs into your bed with his stank ass diaper and sits by your head.

Yeah, that’s how my day started. But at least I got to drive my new-to-me car to work today! Hooray! My parents are coming into town this weekend for my nephew’s birthday. We’re going to spend some time with my family this weekend, so I’m not making much for plans. We do have a couple people coming out to look at my old car, so hopefully that’ll be gone by the end of the weekend. But we’ve had people flake on checking out stuff before, so I’m not getting my hopes up, especially since everyone who would want to buy my car probably doesn’t have one. It’s not a great car. It’s not an upgrade kind of car. It’s an “upgrade from walking” kind of car.

The heat wave appears to be finally over! Maybe now I can take less than three showers a day. Though on the upside, I’ve never been cleaner.
(Hey, that wasn’t a dirty joke, that was a clean joke. :stuck_out_tongue: )

Howdy, I have been awol here. My irk is extremely busy these first days of the month. I have not read but will.

The hammer finally fell after 10 1/2 years. I can’t bring Lucky Louie to irk anymore because some ditzy manager of the bowling alley and grill started bringing her dog in and to be consistent no one can bring dogs in. Needless to say I miss him and he misses coming.

{{Louie}}

Well, duh. If I wasn’t a slacker I would actually spend the money and go visit a gym every day instead of getting Primers to pay me to sweat and work out. Go figure!

It will probably work out but until then I won’t know from day to day if my badge will work or not until I actually get to the building. :smack:

And a silk one at that!
What is frustrating is that a lot of different mistakes have happened like that (Seattle/HUB screw-ups) to a lot of us all as we’re going into the busiest time of the year outside of December. And this week alone 5 co-workers, all really great workers, decided to screw it and just throw in the towel. Every other time we’ve been told “guess what – our volume is going to double” my normal reaction is to grin, roll up the sleeves I don’t have (I live in t-shirts), and get excited at the prospect. This time however I have this feeling of dread and that isn’t a good place to me.

So what’s for dinner?

{{{Butters}}}

Sorry to hear it Ruble. Life’s no fun when work sucks.

Spidey that looks good, but I was going to do pork chops. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ruble, sorry to hear about the work problems. Technology… ain’t it great?

I did not want to come back to irk after lunch today. First of all, the office is half empty. Why is the office half-empty? Because it’s freaking GORGEOUS out. It’s 74, sunny, low humidity, light breeze… and it’s a Friday, so everyone’s just like, “screw it, I’m gone.” Plus, a bunch of people took extended Fourth of July weekends.

Since I’m the only one in my department working this afternoon, I have to be here. But I’d rather be taking a drive, hanging out with my family, cranking some tunes… ugh. I just need to make it until 4…

Happy Firday!

Puppers are at the groomers getting sheared. As soon as I can go pick them up and deposit them at home I need to run to Winco In Mac and get a meat and cheese tray for tonights Artwalk. I may get a box of their fried or baked chickie while I’m there. They have the best chickie around.
Then it’s off to Artwalk to schmooze and maybe sell a little soap. It’s the only place I sell soap at anymore and people expect me to be there.

Did I mention that Number1Gradddaughter squeezed out another tiny human? He was a big’en too. Over 9 pounds. That makes, counts on fingers, four for her and seven great grandchildren altogether. Makes me tired just to think about it.

That’s all I got.
