Bumba, Congrats on the great-grandchild!
And my work day is done. The drawing I worked today was a real booger. It shouldn’t have taken all day, but it did. I have more to do tomorrow but I’m done for today.
I need ice cream. Dammit.
Good afternoon!
I haven’t been too productive, today. I did end up chopping all the cukes, and letting them rest in the fridge, in a salt/turmeric solution. I accomplished chopping the red bell peppers, and the onions. Then, an errant kidney stone decided to mess with me, and I had to go lie down.
Two hours later, and here I am. Bah. I’ve got to can that relish today, though. So, I’ll forge ahead. I have nothing to take for the pain, really. My witchdoctor gave me an Rx for some fancy Ibuprofen-like pills (Ketorolac 10mg), instead of REAL pain meds that actually make me pain free, because I think they’re afraid of giving out an Rx for anything even remotely narcotic. Probably worried about his license, in all honesty.
They even took a sonogram (?), and a CT scan (Twice. One with contrast, each time I’ve gone in about it), and found several stones, that are rattling around. I’m still pissing blood, and in pain. The Rx fancy Ibes aren’t doing a whole lot for the pain, either. Whatever. I need to see a real doctor, and tell my witchdoctor to go to hell. They don’t even try to fix the stone problem. They just want to keep ‘treating’ it, with Bactrim, and non-effective pain meds. I’m just about fed up. Every time I walk more than a half mile, or lift anything that some heft to it, the stones start rattling around, causing blood in the urine, and causing some wicked kidney/lower back, and/or side pain. Oh, well. It’ll either go away, or not. You know how it goes.
I suppose I should get started, again, and get things finished.
I hope we all have a peaceful evening.
Howdy Y’all! I had quality cee-mint pond time, OYKW got back around four, and we have supped. All is good.
Bumba yay for the new great grandkid!
ace ouchie! Hope you get those kidney stones taken care of soonest.
Midget glad it’s cooler anyways. Also nice to know you’ve been squeaky clean.
Has anybody given nonacetone a name yet?
Is it going to be** ace**?
Everytime I see the name I think of nail polish remover.
Worked, came home, napped. Thunderstorms and lightning*, and a flash flood warning to boot.
Yay for a break in the heatwave, Midget!
Congrats ,Bumba!
Sorry, Butters and Louie.
And here I was expecting
They are blaming it on someone at another facility who was trying to help out. The automation is supposed to share information like that but when it doesn’t lets put it all on some human somewhere. This goes for more places than just Da Jungle — document, document, document. You never know when that old screen-shot is going to come in handy.
Now to rest up for tomorrows day of adventure.
Happy Saturday!
I’m up too early, as always. It’s a busy time of year for me. Good thing I enjoy canning, damnit.
A friend stopped by last night, and gave me a bag of banana peppers, and asked if I’d pickle them for him. He told me that I could have half. So, that’s what I’ve been doing this morning. I’m glad it’s done.
He also gave me two spaghetti squash. I need to look up how to do it…I think they require baking, before I can do anything with them. Not sure at all. Then, maybe using them, along with zucchini, in zucchini bread. Maybe a half & half mixture of the two. I don’t know if it would change the taste/texture of the bread, or not. Research awaits. Bah. Always something.
Next, I’ve got some laundry to fold, which I’ve been putting off. I also need to do some hovelwork, and then, hunt down my shredder attachment for the food processor, so I can shred 5 zucchini, and get them into the freezer. I REALLY hope I can find that attachment, because it’ll be hell using a manual shredder, instead of the food processor. It’s here. Somewhere. In the kitchen. Somewhere. Deity help me.
Have a great day, everyone.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN Actually been up a while but still gettin’ my minimum daily requirement of caffeine. ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 91, kinda, sorta, cloudy with a chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. Maybe. Or not. TWPTB are bein’ all willy-nilly. No big plans for the day other than hopefully some quality cee-mint pond time. I told the two granddaughters of a friend of mine they could come to the cee-mint pond if’n they wish. They’re sweet girls, well, young ladies, bein’ as they are twenty-one and twenty-four years of age. Caitlyn may or may not bring one of her apparently many, many, many gentlemen with her. Seriously she texted and asked if it would be OK if she decided to bring one of her boyfriends. I picture a harem of young men all hopin’ to be THE ONE!
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
Happy Saturday!
Up too early again, I wanted to sleep in this morning.
Thanks to my bladder and weird dreams.
It’s a cool 61 degrees outside and we are supposed to have a high of 77 today.
It’s not supposed to rain, so a good day to mow and whack.
We need to irk outside, but irk is running a special, it is really busy and I need to make money.
I have to decide which is more important.
I noticed a while back that every time I eat chicken my gums itch.
Last night I ate part of a breast and the itching made me crazy.
I have two leftover chicken breasts in the fridge, I’m afraid to eat them so Ripple will be happy. The cat too, because he luvs chicken.
Chicken is my favorite, I’m going to miss it.
No more peanuts, almonds, raw tomatoes, or chicken.
Congrats on GGBaby Bumba!
That sucks **Butters **
Cold front came thru last night and I’ve actually got windows open right now - it’s overcast and gloriously cool! Unfortunately, we barely got a spit of rain. I need to drag the sprinklers around so our new grass doesn’t die. Like I don’t have enough to do today.
The dishwasher is washing and Taz has already peed on the carpet, dammit. He is thoroughly displeased with all the other animals in the house. Today, we’ll finish (I hope) fixing up my studio for the kids to have their own “living room” where they’ll house all their cats. They’ll hang out down there with the cats and their dog, watching TV or whatever, rather than hiding in their room. With their TV, a futon, a mini-fridge and an old lamp or 2, it should make a tolerable space, despite being next to the furnace. And with luck, Taz will go back to using the litter box when it’s free of the odor of other cats. I hope. **FCD **is ready to ship him to Outer Mongolia.
I have one more set of drawing to do - with luck, I can wrap them up on 4 hours. We shall see.
Happy Saturday!!
{{{butters and Louie}}}
Congrats on the new great grandbaby bumba!
Ace, do you freeze your processed zucchini in the measurement for your recipe? My mom used to put hers up in 2 cup containers because that is what her recipe for zucchini bread called for.
We’re on the way home and hitting rain, so it’s a good thing that the bikes are trailered. I’ve slept two nights in the same room with a snoring old man, a snoring old basset hound and Nelson, who was restless because of all of the different smells. I’ll be glad to get back to my own bed.
When I get home, there’s laundry to do, prep for the irkweek and such. Tomorrow, I will heathenate though, and have lunch with the rest of the heathens.
Afternoon all.
Still melty hot here, by our standards. My main excitement today was going walkies and seeing load of butterflies and a grass snake; actually the first grass snake I’ve ever seen, and only the second wild snake I’ve ever seen in the UK. I think the walk failed as healthy exercise though as there’s a nice little cafe by the footpath, at which I wound up stuffin’ my face.
My plans for the rest of the day are basically continuing to avoid football, to the apparent bewilderment and distress of my neighbour, who saw me heading out and assumed I was off down the pub to watch the match.
Howdy Y’all! There are thunder rumbles in the distance so we decided 'twas time to come inside. Now we’re all showered and cleanded. Chill mode ensues. Any desire to eat will be via forage. Not too worry though, cause there’s plenty to forage.
Butters boo on HRH Lucky Louie not bein’ able to go to irk with you!
Mowage is done.
Whackage will be tomorrow.
My jungle order came today, surprising since I ordered it only yesterday.
I ordered Ripple some tripe stick chews.
I wish somebody had warned me, omg do they stink. I thought hooves were bad.
He loves them, first he rolls on them, then he eats them.
He’d eat the whole bag if I let him.
I keep telling him they are all gone but he knows better, even sealed in the bag they still reek.
Yes, I sure do! Only, I use 3 C., just because my husband likes it with more zucchini in the bread. That’s all I make with it. Bread.
Howdy. Home from irk. Twas not as busy as I thought it would be. I need to go to the grocery store to get spaghetti fixings and other stuff. Still have not read but will. I intend to give Louie a bath too.
Happy weekend to me. I am taking Moanday off and seeing the Dr cause my cholesterol pills ran out with no refills. On Wed we are off to the mainland for a cardiologist visit for hubby. If I don’t go I won’t get the full report.
tis very hot here. Y’all be good.
Ace we also make zucchini fritters that are super yummy. Eggys and cheese and zucchini.
I don’t think that the spaghetti squash will work as well in the bread, unless you dice it maybe? The way it tends to make those strings and tends to stay harder, I’m not sure it would work as well in baked goods.
Congrats on Bumba-Mark3!
I’m to going to have any hair left by the time this summer is over. Aaahhhh!
I thought today was going to be a short drafting day. Nope. I clocked 9 hours.
Taz is mellowing - the kittens stayed in the basement all day, so the food stayed out. I don’t think he’s peed on any furniture all day! YAY! We’ve cleared space for the kids to set up their own living room, and they’re assembling the futon right now. Then they’ll take the other cat down there and Taz will have his space back again. With luck, we won’t have to cover the couch any more. Fingers crossed.
I also managed to clean the critter fountain and water the dry areas of the front lawn. I’ll try to get some of the back tomorrow. I’ve also got to do laundry tomorrow. **FCD **leaves for my mom’s in the evening and he’s got 4 days of classes in Lancaster, PA. At least with the kids here, the animals won’t be completely ignored.
It’s nearly 7 and I can’t decide if I want supper or not. We had McLunch and it’s sitting like a lump in my gut. I’m sure part of it is the stress of all the work I’ve done the last few days.
The rest of tonight should be chill. I hope.
Sunny, yes! I love fried zucchini! I egg 'em, and then flour 'em. Fry 'em up, and happy, joy! Delicious.
I ended up making a batch of zucchini bread. One loaf for each person that gave me some zucchini. It smells really good, so, I’m hoping they enjoy it. I didn’t even try it. Stupid diabetes. Bah.
I’m just sitting around, getting the neglected laundry finished, so I can be lazy the remainder of the evening. Works for me!
