While I agree that setting an alarm is a good idea, I’d suggest that you put some food in your pockets. There will be times when you are stepping back to take a good look and if you are like me, your hands will go into your pockets. Suddenly finding food in your hands might remind you to eat some.
I have never heard of doing such a thing before, this is amazing and I love learning new things. Thank you again!!!
Maybe ask your fellow Mumpers before buying such things next time. Currently we have more guns than money, so hubs is selling guns to get money to send to Ukraine. He wanted to send guns and I was going to donate the M1 Gerand my father carried in Korea, but sending guns to a war torn country isn’t as easy as it sounds.
Every time you mention “somebody” getting scared, I laugh because your Gordie sounds just like our GG. When he comes in from the catio, he can’t see his slaves and wails with dismay until one of us calls out to him from whatever room we are.
Today I noticed that the spare bed was looking rather hairy, so I pulled the bedspread off and washed it. GG and VBC are not best pleased, it was COMFY and I messed it all up.
The good news of the day is that hubs has been able to pull parts out of his dead comp and turn mine into a frankenputer. Mine was a compact desktop model and his was a big ass tower with all sorts of extra stuff that gamers need. There are now holes in the cover of the compact one and parts sticking out all over, but he’s able to play two of his three games without swearing overmuch about lag.
I’m inclined to believe that the time change is screwing with me. I couldn’t fall asleep again last night, and I was up before 5. It’s gonna be a long day.
But for now, I’m caffeinating and breakfasting and waiting for my daughter to text that she’s on her way. I’ll figure it out from there.
May I present: My Granddaughter!
My daughter took out the braids her other grandmother had done so that she could wash her hair. The child isn’t possessed - she just didn’t want her picture taken because she wasn’t pretty. I’m thinking this is a preview of PMS…
This is after:
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 53 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 71 with rain comin’ in this afternoon and hangin’ around through tomorrow accordin’ to TWPTB. We shall see. Today is laundry day (I can hardly contain myself!) and I shall head over to the church house this mornin’ to stage various biiiiiig pots and such for the major cookin’ to occur later this week. We shall sup on majik intartoobz pizza and sallit just cause.
VanGo I too shall chime in and say set a reminder to eat if you need to do so. Ya gotta take care of yourself so stuff can get done.
talkie hope all goes well today. Today is surgery day for overlyboy, right?
MOOOOOOM how dare you take a pic when RoxStar is not ready for her closeup! Then again, she is a cutey no matter what.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother of bothers, I suppose I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ amongst the public attire. Woe and despair!
It’s currently 45 degrees and wet outside. It’s going to rain all day.
Roxy is a cutie, no matter what. The toddler look is all gone and you can already see what she’s going to look like when she’s older. I’ve noticed that with Zoe too.
Work was crazy busy yesterday and today will be more of the same, if not busier because I have more meetings and required training. to the training sessions.
VanGo, I agree that sticking a protein bar in your pocket to remind you to eat might be a good thing. Take care of yourself.
I hope all goes well with overlyboy’s surgery, talky.
Man, I am TIRED. I just can’t seem to catch up on rest and get past this feeling. I am usually out of bed by 3:30 at the latest, but these last days, and even last week, I was giving myself an extra hour. I’m not sleeping well at all either. But, I have too much on my plate to take a rest. I am taking Friday off, but that’s only because I have errands to run and company coming over the weekend.
Well, onward with the day. I hope you all have a good one.
I brushed her out for a full 'fro once when her hair was a little shorter. It was very '70s!
I’m giving Toby some floor time. He slurped down 6oz of formula and it’s too soon to nap, so I won’t put him in his swing yet. He’s watching Baby Einstein while I get a few things done. I’ll join him shortly, but for now, I need a cup of tea.
After I give him back to his mom, I have an appt at CVS for my second Shingrex. Fun, huh?
Morning all. Up about 7:15am and moved my car from garage to street so the HVAC folks can get to my garage. They are due ‘this morning’, so anytime between now and 11:30am by my figuring. We’ll see.
Rain due this afternoon and evening, so need to get to the gym sometime after the HVAC housecall. Also need to call Transamerica, they have one of my annunities and they’ve stopped taking taxes out; it’s fine if they drop the state, but I want to find out why they are no longer taking out Federal taxes.
FCM, didn’t know Roxy had a VandeGraf generator to play with…
OK, get some break fast food and await the HVAC guys. All y’all take care.
OK, your mission, whether you accept it or not, is to tell me where the heck I put the dish cloths and hot pads I made for the boat. I’ve check closets and cabinets and cubbies (Oh my!!)
Roxy is adorable, even if she does look like she might bite in that pic…
Nothin’ much going on here today, but this weekend is going to be… fun… on site. Some utter genius planned the Paddy’s Day ball- basically an event with the sole purpose of getting students very very drunk on campus- on Friday night, and an open day on Saturday, for prospective studentsm starting 9.30am. So… an event in which the campus is going to be trashed, followed immediately by an event for which it’s supposed to look its very very best.
Oh, and half the cleaning staff don’t normally do weekends and have refused to come in for an extra shift early Saturday morning… Several have already walked out in the last few weeks.
Nothing much happening today for a change. I made scrambled eggs carbonara for breakfast, which were delish. If you care to try:
2 slices thick-cut bacon, diced
4 eggs
grated romano cheese
salt
pepper
Butter
Brown up the bacon. Beat the eggs with a couple tablespoons of the cheese, salt and pepper. Heat butter in a pan. Add egg mixture to the pan and add the bacon. Cook on med-low heat, stirring often until the eggs are fluffy and creamy. Plate and top with more cheese.
Howdy all. HVAC installers have been here and gone along with a substantial check. I called Transamerica, apparently they are having to use my money to pay me (guess their investments have taken a hit from the current world unpleasantness) and since I presumably paid taxes on them already, I get all the money. Which is fine, but I’d rather get less and know my base $$ are still there…
Nut, well, at least the new prospective students will see what College life is really like…might encourage them to attend…
OK, need to dress for the part and head over to the gym. Think I’ll try 60 minutes on the bike with a less rigorous setting and see how that goes. Rain is due about 1:30pm per the Weather Wizards, so hopefully can be back in the house by then.
Today? I had more sleep than the day before. I feel like a vegetable. I have found a suitable series and on season 3 methinks. For those that are curious it’s “The Sinner”. A worthy waste of time. Netflix is the vehicle to access.
I have been drinking beer. It’s been awhile since I indulged copiously.
Thanks for the hugs, everyone! swampy, his surgery is Thursday. Yes, I’m freaking out early. It’s what I do - I overthink things and get the freak out over with first, so I can be calm later. I like to be efficient that way.
Roxy is adorable, FCM. Her hair down kinda looks like mine when it’s brushed out.
Today started out with a 4-hour meeting. It was a really disorganized 4-hour meeting where we all went round-robin and people fired questions at us as we went. It already feels like we’ve worked all day, but it’s not even 2 p.m. in the Midwest, USA. Since I didn’t take lunch I might take a half-hour snooze in a bit. My brain hurts and we’re all meeting with my boss later today and I’d really rather not, though I’m fairly sure that’s not an option.
I got my usual Cobb salad from Trader Joe’s. One of the hard-boiled egg halves was a double-yolk. I’ve never come across a double yolk in a hard-boiled egg.
