The sad part is that Angela is an accountant. One would have assumed that she should understand how much the coupon book is really worth.
I’m not complaining about the outfit though.

My favorite line was when Michael asked Dwight what he thought Kevin and Gabe were talking about in the conference room.
“Probably the extremes of the human physique”
Random *Office *question: why does Andy call Jim “Tuna”?
This was probably explained once in an episode I either missed or have fogotten.
On Jim’s first day in Connecticut, he had a tuna sandwich for lunch instead of his customary ham and cheese. Ever since then, Andy has addressed him as “Tuna” or “Big Tuna.”
That’s twice this season that Angela is looking incredibly hot, i never noticed her in that way before. The perpetual scowl kills most of her attractiveness usually, but she is damn hot under that frown.
Seed model Angela was hot. Schwing!
Well when Darryl said the line about having big plans at the company… it was pretty obvious they were setting him up for it. There might be a competition with Dwight or something, but he’s an obvious contender.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Darryl was working on a bachelor’s degree at night (or if he already has one, then an MBA).
Aren’t they intentionally giving us “clues” about everyone possibly taking over as boss?
darryl’s the only one with any legs. kelly would never be promoted, no matter how many minority fast-tracks she earns. jim was already given a shot and was found wanting. dwight is clearly content with the bottom line, and between OWNING THE BUILDING, beet farming, b&bing, and commissions, he’s making money hand over fist. who else could it be?
Well, it’s The Office; the choice wouldn’t necessarily be the most sensible one! And they’re certainly doing a lot of foreshadowing. A few episodes ago we saw Andy stepping into Michael’s role and calling a staff meeting, we saw Pam’s ambition to raise her station (and her ability to face down a superior when called on the bullshit way she went about it), Packer has suddenly been reintroduced, and with Danny covering his old job he may be getting groomed for a new position, Gabe’s being from Sabre gives him a leg up, and I don’t believe that Dwight wouldn’t take the position in a heartbeat (especially if Angela went to work on him). Of course, if they really do choose a new boss from the current cast, it will probably end up being none of the ones they foreshadow. Maybe Stanley will end up being kicked upstairs.
I hope Sabre is more sensible than Dunder Mifflin and won’t promote a sexy new upstart like silver-haired-male-model-Pam-dorky-finder the way they did with Ryan, just cause he was sexy and had a ghost of an MBA.
I’ve seen the actor who plays Darryl in several movies lately, so perhaps he’ll want to get out of the series as well? (Although I think if I were an actor who lucked into a regular role in a successful series, I’d be very reluctant to give it up, given what happened to Suzanne Somers and David Caruso’s careers. Both left lead roles on television but didn’t have success on film.) And the actor playing Danny already has a series on the FX network, so I don’t see him joining the cast as a regular.
BTW, I think it was in last week’s episode that Andy told some long boring story about how he got into a capella singing. It started with him in the “Walter Bernard Building” at Cornell working on his column in the student newspaper. We already knew that Andy came from a wealthy family, but I gathered from this bit that he was a legacy at Cornell. Presumably the Walter Bernard after whom the building is named is his father or grandfather.
My G/F and I DVR’d this show from the start and it was part of our weekly TV time together. It was one of the best half hour shows on for the first couple of years. Then Jim and Pam finally got together and it started to loose it’s appeal for some reason. The schtick had gotten old and it was sort of like on Moonlighting when Maddie and Dave finally hooked up. The anticipation of “Will they or won’t they?” was finally over. Eventually we just stopped watching right around the time when Michael resigned and started his own paper company.
I recently decided to try and give the series a second chance. I found this episode to be really weak. I hardly laughed at all during the whole thing and it seems that they have run out of ideas for the original cast of characters.
If Dinner for Schmucks or the other recent crap fest he did with Tina Fey that i don’t even remember the name off didn’t kill Steve Carrells movie career the next disaster certainly will, in which case he’ll be right back on the Office next season.
Didn’t see Dinner for Schmucks.
It was Date Night, I saw it for the first time a few days ago. It was so bad. I don’t think Carrells doing this to focus on other things, other than family. That’s why he said he wanted to leave. I’m sure he’s aware that quality work may not reach him in the future.
I personally think there are going to be other candidates out there other than Darryl.
Andy has already said that he got into Cornell by being smart enough to have a father who could pay for a building.
Could be. I just assumed that it was because his parents had bought his way in. “Fine, we’ll build you a new building. Now let him in and go easy on him.”

On her own? No. Coached by Ryan as he sabotages the others?
YES! More diabolical Ryan please!
Deliciously creepy.
