The Official "Lost" Questions Thread - Season 2

i’m pretty sure that the only reason Sayid was pulled aside at the airport was because of Shannon’s bitchy little trick of calling the airport cops on his bag as a means of delaying the flight or getting a seat on a different one. as i recall it, Sayid and the security guys were on remarkably pleasant terms after they questioned him, and Sayid didn’t seem at all upset – which you could reasonably expect someone who’d learned about a death of a friend to be, IF they had, in fact, just gotten such news.

i must have missed the episode where Nadia’s possible whereabouts appeared (or at least the reference went flying over my head if i did view it), but i’m pretty sure on my recollects for that Shannon flashback sequence at the airport.

As I recall, the only map Boone (insert obligatory “I miss Useless Pretty Boone” sigh here) found in the plane was of Nigeria and environs, rather than charts of the South Pacific, which is definitely nowhere near Nigeria.

lachesis - I never said it ws a good theory.

Draelin - That’s good enough for me.

  1. How did the Nigerian drug smuggling plane get on the island?

Didn’t the Nigerian drug smuggling plane crash there and they figured out they were on an escape route or something? I wish my Tivo still had that episode. I wonder if we’ll be returned to that plane ever.

SO stoked for tonight…

I figured we’d get a definite answe on 48 and sure enough, here it is.

  1. What’s the deal with the transmission Boone heard?
ANSWERED It was “We’re the survivors of flight 815” and that was Bernard, a tail end survivor on the other end.

Questions 51, 52 and 53 are under consideration for removal.

That’s not ringing any bells for me. Can anyone confirm or deny?

  1. What did Kate do to put her in trouble with the law and make her so eager to run from everything?

Got the big ANSWER to this one last night. She blowed up her biological father real good. For purposes of character psycology, it should be mentioned that she believes she has a whole lot of bad in her that she got from him.

  1. Why did Kate’s mom freak out at the hospital?

Because Kate blowed up her father real good, and is a fugutive from the law. Also explains the cops guarding Kate’s mom.

New questions:

Why are there blast doors on the corridors leading to the geodesic dome?

Why aren’t people supposed to use the computers for communication?

I don’t remember seeing this one in the list: Aside from the significance of The Numbers, what happens if they don’t get entered into the computer every 108 minutes? What exactly was the “incident?”

Good catch!

Also good. The question about the blast doors is the one that occured to me last night. I think I’ll also have to add the big question about whether any of this is real or if it’s just a big psych experiment.

In any event, those go on the list.

I’ve realized that the list needs a big overhaul, so any suggestion are welcome. We’ve got a few weeks to go until the next episode so this is the time to do it.

See, that’s what happens when you use the computer for other purposes!! :smack:

Q: Who snipped the the film and why?
Q: Are there other pieces of the film somewhere?

There was an article in TV Guide a while back (I have a coworker who obsessively brings them all in for us Lost junkies) where one of the production people said Desmond spliced it because he watched it so often it started to get worn out.

How did the film get clear across the island and hidden in a book?

naaahhh… Something else _must_have_happened in between time for the extreme reaction that Kate’s Mom had… as if Kate made an attempt on her life as well.

Cops would certainly be watching the hospital for Kate to come visit… but specifically ‘guarding’ her mom?

Kate, with careful planning and malice aforethought, murdered her stepfather and destroyed their family home. All her mom was left with was her job at the diner and an insurance policy that she probably wouldn’t have been able to collect on.

What’s not to hate?

Regarding whether or not there were guards there, it’s the MO of that cop who died to let Kate know what’s going on, and set a trap for her.

So are we thinking that the Marshal sent her that letter tipping her off to her mom’s condition? We know Tom didn’t send it, because he was surprised to see her.

Was it really Walt answering Michael’s IM? (or "where did the message originate?)

How did the person saying Hello know someone was at the station?

What happens if a person uses the computer for a purpose other than entering the numbers?

What’s up with the freaking horse?

I forgot one:

  • Whay was Sayid on the television in the army recruiting station? (I figure I know, but probably should be added).

A few others from previous episodes:

  • What is Sawyer’s connection to the girl who picked Hurely’s lottery numbers?

  • What’s the significnace of Locke’s crossword puzzle? What was the correct answer to 42 Down?

*Is that the same car that has been involved with Locke, Kate and Michael’s accidents?

Also, should we add a question about the glass eye?

How many indictments will there be against Dharma folks when the world finds out what’s going on on the island?

I didn’t say “she didnt hate kate”… I questioned the absolute fear/terror that she emoted… seemed much more involved to me… I don’t doubt that she would scream for a nurse or help… but what I remember was much more than that.

Of course, I could be remembering wrong.

And if the cop is setting a trap… you don’t want to Gaurd the mom so obviously… then your prey get’s away… you want the prey to be unaware and then encircle.

My main thing is that there has to be more to it… some ‘as of yet’ unrevealed bits…

of course, stealing the cops car and assaulting him didn’t help matters none.
