The President's Day MMP

Be careful what you ask for. At least the flu is over in a week or two. Hot flashes go on for years or the rest of your life. I have some doozy’s. Twice I thought I would pass out. Forget sleep too.

G-d is a guy.

So we have an annual inspection tomorrow which will include our new CO, the XO, fire, medical, environmental, facilities management specialist with PW and a representative of our dept plus me. So I have been spending the day getting ready for this.

Our new CO is the best looking man I have ever seen. Be still my heart.

Happy Toosday!

It’s a bit chilly and cloudy out today. So much for weather in the 60s.

We’re back from the college, he took both tests, so that is done for the week. He was out really fast too.
I feel bad because a girl parked next to me in the student lot and asked me if it was okay to park there because the visitor lot is full (always is). I told her I was not supposed to be parked there either but since I would be there a while I’d keep an eye on her car if the campus police came around. I hope she doesn’t get a ticket, but I have parked in the student lot lots of times and have never had a problem.
The only problem with parking in the student lot is that Sah-son won’t find me so I have to keep an eye out for him.

Sonic for an early lunch.

I’m debating taking a nap. I slept from 2:30 until 6:30 and I am feeling the blurf.
Obviously… since I wrote this around 11am and I never hit send

Adam is on my hit list today, must be bad cat day. He is back to being a real pest about wanting treats.

Howdy Y’all! Back from makin’ my rounds at the nursin’ home. I also took some chikin ‘n rice to my friend Sammie and her family. I made a LOT of chikin’ ‘n rice. Everyone was in good spirits. The PT was gettin’ Jim to stand while I was there. Next step is to walk down to the dinin’ room this evenin’. If he can walk (with a walker) he’ll maybe get out of there by the first of next week. JDD’s folks were in good spirits as well.

‘Tis all cloudy out but no rain yet. Sure looks like it’s on the way however. I could do with a nice rainy evenin’ for snoozin’.

Frustrating afternoon. I made a big, stoopit mistake. Just because you save your work doesn’t mean it’s saved. You have to check it in. I forgot to check it in before dealing with a problem. I lost everything I did this morning. So I’ll be doing it again tomorrow. Dammit.

I’m gonna have shrimp & cucumbers for supper. **FCD **is having cereal. He didn’t want a meal and I wanted shrimps, so it worked out.

The comforter is in the dryer. **FCD **tossed it in the washer when he came home, and with luck it’ll dry well, since the dryer has a lots bigger drum than the last one. Otherwise, we’ll have to toss an old comforter on the bed. First world problems when you have a bed-peein’ cat.

We et an early dindin of chikin’ and rice with peas ‘n carrots cause we were both hungry. All is well now. It’s beginnin’ to sprinkle rain so maybe we’ll have rain movin’ on in soon.

1. It’s small

Got an email & a call from a headhunter. He starts to tell me about the position when I interrupt him:
Me: Can I ask you a really weird question:
HH: Yes
Me: Was your grandfather’s first name ____
HH: <long pause, followed by a weary> Yessssss
Me: & your grandmother was ____
HH: Yes!
Me: We’re related.

(He’s my cousin’s cousin (kid); my aunt married his great uncle)
2. It’s going to end
There is an agreement in principle to get together with Ruble & play with some “smoke-poles”; I’m sure when we’re done there will be a beerverage (or 5) consumed as payment for advice.

You haven’t met me; just sayin’

We have a new cat hanging around in the back yard. Cute little grey kitty, I think it is not full grown yet.
I saw it yesterday when I let the dog out and it took off. Today when Sah-son let the dog in the cat was standing by the deck. Obviously not afraid of the dog anymore.
I’m pretty sure Adam knows it’s out there. I know he couldn’t see the cat from where he was sitting, but he was staring at the door and he didn’t look happy.

I have met you. I’m still swooning. Really. Would I lie?

Don’t loan him money. Lines include a Mother or Sister who is ill, medical school, and an elderly aunt addicted to morphine.
Just sayin’.

Wary, is probably what you meant.

Maybe he was wearily wary or warily weary. One never knows how these things will go.

I’ll tell you the same thing our Old (well – he had to be like 40!) Detachment Training Sergeant used to ---- Ahhh, it’s advice you want! Great news - the Quartermaster always keeps us overstocked with that!

Once we work out the details, rest assured that I always have lots of powder and ball in stock. Figure to really have fun, we’re looking at 3-6 hours for a full range of safety and at least some basic cleaning and care thereof. The last being the absolute worst part of the deal. That’s what we need the beer for – to cut the rotten egg smell out of our heads.

I’ll try to swoon but I can’t promise my heart will be in it. Now for Swampy ----------

I has oregano and nanner pepper sprouts!!!111!!!

(And now you may return to your regularly scheduled mumping :stuck_out_tongue: )

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, warily and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious MMP of forgotten lore—

Considering Swampy shouldn’t you have worked more from:

Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow

or something more along those lines?
Hey - I grew up living near the Glass Prism – I know all those old tunes

I went without a car for almost 3 months. Not due to lack of funds but because a hurricane destroyed my car and every car within a 100 miles or more due to Wilma in 05. I finally bought one and had it trucked from PA. Fun times. There were no cars to be had and no way to go buy one. Storm surge is a real thing.

Ok the best looking man I have ever seen in real life. Guess you’ll have to come to the Keys so I can see :stuck_out_tongue:

Up and at 'em. 4 and a half hours is plenty of sleep. It’s supposed to rain today. Lucky Louie has the day off due to the inspection. Slacker. Y’all wish me luck. Happy Hump Day!
