Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin and rainyish (drizzly) out with a predicted high of 73 and rain for most of the day. It also rained overnight. Today’s big plan calls for laundry and goin’ to the sto’ for some provisions. The excitement is almost more than I can stand!
I bathe regularly to keep people from swoonin’ in my presence.
Butters good luck with the inspection!
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I suppose I should get laundry started and purtify to go about the public.
Happy Hump Day Y’all!
I tried to sleep with Mel last night, but he’s losing his power. Maybe because the Best By date on the bottle is back in 2015?? All in all, not a particularly restful night. Oh well…
We’re promised a nice day today - upper 60s! I get to spend my morning re-doing what I did yesterday morning, then lost due to my own brain fart. But it should go faster since I don’t have to figure things out - the figuring is done. Plus I did print out one drawing and even tho I lost it, I know how to duplicate it.
So, Happy Wednesday!!
And a quick note from last night’s game:
To the Pittsburgh fan that spilled his beer that got all over my jacket: F you, Yinzer.
I’ve been sleeping with Mel a bit too much lately, though I somehow managed without him last night.
Today I plan to work on music work, and then head to rehearsal in the evening.
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of the MMP.
BLURF!
I want to go home.
I am very, very tired. As soon as the kids are off to school I am going back to bed.
Happy Hump Day!
It looks like it’s cloudy outside, supposed to be warm though.
Grumpy morning though. I went to bed early and slept from 9:30 until 12:30, then was up until 4.
Then I paid my electric bill which is a pita because whoever designed the website needs to be shot.
Many years ago when I was a bank teller we had to reenter all of the customer info into the new computer system. The woman who showed me how to do it was not the sharpest knife in the drawer. These were her instructions-
You type in first name, space, middle name, *, last name
Unless they use their initial for their middle name, then
You type in first name, space, middle initial, *, last name
Unless they don’t have a middle name, then
You type in first name, *, last name
Unless they use and initial for their first name, then
You type in first initial, *, last name
Do you understand?
Me: yep, you type in an * before the last name
NO NO NO!!! That is not how you do it!
and she proceeded to tell me again how to enter the info
I think she designed the bill pay website for the electric company.
Good luck! Butters
When we got hit by Isabelle up here, a number of people got injured by going out to start their cars. They thought it was okay because their cars had dried out, only to have the air bag go off when they started the car. So we got lots of warning about not starting a car after it had been flooded, in addition to the warnings about plugging things into electrical outlets that had been under water. Just because they look dry doesn’t mean they are. And the continued warnings about using generators, which no matter how often people are warned about those, somebody, somewhere, kills their entire family because they use one indoors.
Back hurts.
Tired.
Locked keys in car this morning. Now I owe a co-irker for breaking into my car.
Very tired.
Day only half over.
Need nap.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
No walkies today - I don’t trust the weather radar and there’s no way I want to get caught half a mile from the office in rain. I’m a delicate flower after all.
I need to stop at Food Lion on the way home for breakfast and lunch fixins. And maybe something to go with the chicken I intend to fix for supper tonight.
I had to make some modifications to an AutoCAD drawing this morning. I haven’t used AutoCAD in years. It was a challenge, but I got it done. So yay!
It’s George Washington’s 285th today - first in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen.
*Washington’s Monument, February 1885
*
by Walt Whitman
Ah, not this marble, dead and cold:
Far from its base and shaft expanding—the round zones circling,
comprehending,
Thou, Washington, art all the world’s, the continents’ entire—not
yours alone, America,
Europe’s as well, in every part, castle of lord or laborer’s cot,
Or frozen North, or sultry South—the African’s—the Arab’s in his tent,
Old Asia’s there with venerable smile, seated amid her ruins;
(Greets the antique the hero new? ‘tis but the same—the heir
legitimate, continued ever,
The indomitable heart and arm—proofs of the never-broken line,
Courage, alertness, patience, faith, the same—e’en in defeat
defeated not, the same: )
Wherever sails a ship, or house is built on land, or day or night,
Through teeming cities’ streets, indoors or out, factories or farms,
Now, or to come, or past—where patriot wills existed or exist,
Wherever Freedom, pois’d by Toleration, sway’d by Law,
Stands or is rising thy true monument.
May I suggest pistols for two, breakfast for one?
(trust me — they can’t shoot much better than their players)
Been puttering for a while and its getting time to forage around after a fast pass around the boards.
Blurf The inspection went well. No safety issues and I got the chance to let the top of the chain know we have termites and and network printer issues. Plus I got to see that beautiful man.
It is a very rainy day which suits me as we needed some rain.
I was first caller at 6ish AM to the radio station and won a pair of tickets to the South Florida Symphony tonight. It is a piano concerto. I am going unless the weather is too bad. I know hubby will not want to go so I asked a colleague but she is on the fence due to her sleep schedule. She usually goes to bed before 8 and the concert is at 7:30. I will go alone if I have to.
Boss was just by bringing me a new credit card with a chip and said I can go early so I shall skedaddle and try for a nap before my cultural event:D
Evening blurf.
I planted my first chilli seeds today; didn’t want to sow anything before going to Spain, in case my babies popped up when I was away and thought I didn’t love 'em. Plus I was out of seed compost.
In other news, the course I’m trying to get on to (which I have now formally applied for) just emailed me and asked if I can come in for an informal interview with the same guy that I met with last month…
I’m trying to negotiate them down to a skype meetin’ or somethin’, seeing as it cost me over 50 in fuel and a full day of driving to get there and back last time, and I’ve already looked round the whole site and talked to the guy for over 2 hours while he asked me interview type questions. I mean, I will if they really want, but it does seem a little daft
Loong week at irk over, even looooonger one comin’ up. The boss was away all last week, leaving me opening and closing the cafe; now he’s back, but the chef’s away, which doesn’t mean longer hours, but it does mean the boss is doing the cooking, and I get any days off until the chef’s back… and the chef is way easier to work with than the boss, who, shall we say, does not handle stress well. Technically it’ll be shorter, but I’d bet money that it’s not going to feel it.
Howdy Y’all! Laundry is all done. I even ironed shirts! Provisions have also been purchased. Dindin shall be Hamburger Helper Stroganoff [sup]TM[/sup] (don’t judge!), green sallit, and rolls. I feel uninspired to cook so there it is.
I feel uninspired to do anything. Looks like Don Juanna is going to be planning my evening.
Sketties for supper. That’ll be the high spot of the evening. Tahred…
Howdy Y’all! Dindin has been ingested and chill mode ensues. The rain has stopped and it’s N.O.S. out.
Sketties were good. The dishwasher is doin’ its thang, the garbage bag and recycling bag have been replaced, the registration sticker is on the car, and I’ve got a container of leftover sketties for tomorrow’s lunch.
Good way to end the day, methinks!
