Once again Sue, I can only praise your dedication to being a superb hostess. You give me hope for the rest of humanity.
[sup]ITALICS ADDED[/SUP]
I’ve resisted the urge several times obs, but I really am obliged to note how difficult it is for you to make any sort of post (in my threads at least), that doesn’t contain some sort of backhanded comment in it. When you finally grow a set of stones and actually host or plan some sort of event you’ll get some respect out of me. Until then, your lady Lani is the only one who seems to have any spirit of congeniality. Grow up wise@ass!
Zenster, you already alienated VogueVixen and made her unwilling to come to my birthday party, if you intend to do the same to Obfusciatrist and Baglady then I will uninvite you.
You are NOT the end all, be all food critic of the board…“Ultimate Recipe Thread” be damned. Control yourself and realize that people have opinions (food-wise) that differ from yours.
That said, I still love ya, you big oaf!
Slackergir Thank you very much! I appreciate it!
pugluvr Thank you also! I don’t know what poundage is appropriate, but we’ll have plenty of other food, so don’t make too much! BTW, I live in Willow Glen (San Jose proper) near the intersection of Willow and Bird.
Batty, you had better plan on coming and bringing the Missus! (please skip the Hamburger Helper…my chili is close enough!)
BTW, I’ll make a BIG dish of Chicken Parmesean for Ob and Bag.
Now, I leave for MI in 20 minutes, but will check in while I’m gone. If there is any fighting going on, I WILL KICK SOME ASS!!!
Although we’re talking about more than a month from now, and I’m generally incapable of making plans more than one or two days ahead of time, I definitely plan to be there.
I’ve been hyping it to Mrs. Batty all week, and I think she’s on board. When the words “Super Bowl” came out of my mouth, her reaction was less than enthusiastic, but I’ve convinced her that that is only an excuse to get together.
So for what it’s worth, you can put the little missus and me down for being there.
And I’ll even withhold the Hamburger Helper if I really must.
Sue, gracious as ever. Nothing sounds better than what I am sure is a fantastic chicken parmesan. However, if it comes to it, I would request that you uninvite me before Zenster as this event did evolve out of his original idea.
Zenster, i’ll leave my feelings for you in other threads so as not to further sully your thread. However, before you start using peoples real names on these boards you really should ask permission. On these boards, unless she has told you otherwise, you will call her baglady.
Thank you for the correction obs, you have my immediate apology for not using baglady’s correct screen name. Please make sure that my apology reaches her. Whether or not her real name has appeared at these boards on previous occasions is not relevant or at issue.
As you can tell your conduct manages to grate a bit but that is no excuse for me to drop decorum. I will give you credit for recognizing that I started this thread and I would not dream of excluding you from an event due to our personal differences. For the record, your style (or lack thereof) has been noted by more people than just me.
Your insinuation that I would become violent over anything, much less an opinion over pizza, is both inappropriate to these boards and quite insulting personally. It should give you pause to consider how you take liberties in portraying others in an unflattering light.
Zenster, I know you aren’t as dim as to honestly think I was suggesting you would become physically violent. You do, however, have a habit of surprising verbal violence when someone disagrees with you on any issue, particularly on issues of food. Just look at the way you responded to pricciar when he posted a negative review of Cicero’s.
I wasn’t backhanded. I was blunt, going to a pizza joint about which you raved would put me in a position of coping with an angry Zenster if I didn’t like the pizza. Why would I go out of my way to put myself in that position? And frankly I don’t care if that insults you personally. Maybe if you get insulted enough you’ll find that you can live without stomping on all opposing opinions. I always take pause before portraying anybody in a negative light.
Your apology to Baglady has been transmitted.
For the record, my style (or lack thereof) is carefully crafted so as to grate upon what I consider the most hollow and superfluous of personality types.
I’ve already given Sue sufficient grounds for removing me from her guest list by continuing this conversation in this thread. I have opened this thread to provide a venue for further discussion, if you wish. The bonus of that thread is that you will be able to use the language I sense you would like to use, something more in line with your email vocabulary I’m sure.
Sue, please rest assured that there is no reason for you to worry about any ill will, whatsoever, within your four walls. If you knew all of the sordid details, you would instantly realize this.
Well, now that the pit thread is wrapped up, I’ll have to take back that “sordid details” comment Sue. It refered to something else entirely, but now that is not very apparent whatsoever.
Hi Folks, y’all don’t know me from Adam, but I do live in the area, and I would like to attend if that’s ok. It would be nice to meet some of the faces behind the screen names.
What time do you guys think this will take place?
If it isn’t real late, I am thinking about making this fest.
I guess usually the SuperBowl ends by four or so, right?
That would work out for me, it is a long drive home, so I wouldn’t want to leave too too late.
There are plenty of NoCal people I haven’t met yet. And there are others I have met, and would love to hang out with again. So, it would be fun.
As Ob noted, the game begins at 3:00 PST. It’s up to Sue as to when the doors open. I’m hoping that one way or another you’re going to be able to make it pricciar.
Oops. I missed that post.
Thanks.
Hmm, 3 pm, I am assumng that is kickoff, so I guess the game will end around 6. That gets me home around 12. Not too shabby, Just have to see what is going on that week around here as far as work and stuff, and how my car is working. Plus, since I will probably make a weekend of it, I have to see what some of my NoCal friends are doing.
Regardless of these boring details, I am going to look into making it.
Purd, keep in mind that this is football…so no exotic shit! We need manly football food! How about you can be in charge of chips? Doritos, Fritos, and Ruffles? (BTW, I just got your email and I figured that it was a moot point as I already responded here.)
Doors open at 2PM.
Anyone who feels unable to drive is welcome to stay the night.
