The Slugabed MMP

Good morning everyone.

It’s currently 54 degrees and a teensy bit cloudy, but it’s all supposed to clear up and temps will top out at about 88 degrees.

Yay for the house closing, Bumba! And thanks for checking in!

I’m sorry about the loss of the phone, cookie, but I’m glad it’s not a huge loss.

Back to manicures for a second. I’ve never had acrylic nails because I like to keep my nails short and I worry that constantly wearing acrylics will start to do horrible things to the natural nails. I don’t understand how anyone can do anything with long nails.

I had a night broken up by poor sleep and very weird dreams. The last dream left me feeling confused and sad.

Well, on to the second cup of coffee for the day. I need to mow the lawn, so I’ll knock that out at around 8:00 am.

Just finished my second cup. I’ll probably start thinking about cooking breakfast at 08:00.

Two more hours of FB time out then I can start posting rude stuff again. Temperature will be in the low 90s, like 91-92. I’m staying home. Heat makes my heart go into tachy and I am so over that. I just have to remain cool, calm, and collected until Wednesday. I just finished brekkie at 9:55 am. Poached egg and 2 Morningstar veggie sausage links. My favorite breakfast. Now, where’s my coffee cup???

Woke to a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for … a nice hot cuppa tea. Which I don’t usually want in August. It’s a testament to how less-unreasonable Michigan summers are, that I’d even consider it.

Curled up with one now. Soooo good.

If that was my fence, I’d coat it with flowering vines: morning glory, black-eyed susan vine, climbing sweet peas & nasturtium (in cooler/less hot temps) etc.
At least that way, the other wall is hidden.

Or hell, go on Pinterest, there’s a zillion “fence art” idea pics.

I hate that. Like, I don’t even remember the dream, or just a few whispy details, but I have this emotional … hangover, kinda.

I agree. I don’t have any significant apps on my phone, plus it’s PIN-protected. The best anyone can do if they find it is call FCD because my lock screen has his name and number showed as Emergency.

That’s my reaction, too, but MIL is weird about growing things that can’t be kept manicured. She had star jasmine on that fence, but tore it out because it, yanno, grew. She’s sweet, but odd about some things.

We’re back from the marina. We brought the dinghy home - a nice young guy who works there helped us get it from the dock to our truck. We tipped him $10 - he was a lifesaver. This winter, we’ll do a major clean/repair/overhaul of the dinghy, the oars, and the oarlocks and come spring it’ll be purty!!!

But the rest of my afternoon is unclaimed. Poor Roxy puked last night so her mom is keeping her home today. No Minions movie. Chillage shall ensue.

Aww. :frowning: Hopefully she’ll see the Minions another day. They are adorbs.

I need to make DIY fruit fly traps. GUESS WHY

Imma go get some frozen dinners so I have easy food for after work. Once I’m home from work, if it takes more effort than a cpl minutes in the microwave while I shower, it ain’t happenin’ … and on that note, I’ll leave y’all with this earworm, as my gift to you:

It was one of those weeks where I feel like I need a vacation. Except I just got back. I stopped and bought cat food, because God forbid the Small Egyptian God should be deprived of food for more than a few minutes.

Yay! :cheese: :bowl_with_spoon: :croissant:

Freedom from pronouns.

Well you could keep your financial instruments in your crypto wallet, but then they just go straight for your ape.

But then the ape just gets stolen, so :woman_shrugging:t3:

Thank you for that video, Shoe.
I call those kinda meals ‘emergency lunches’, as in something I can nuke in the microwave when I don’t wanna cook a real lunch, which is most of the time.

Hope Roxie and Higgs feel better, Mom.

Gibbs had a restless night last night. Wifey went to the valley yesterday and stayed over at the kids’ house last night. He wanted outside 3 times during the night to go look for her. Why he thinks she;s out in the yard I don’t know. He’s a smart little guy but sometimes he has odd ideas.

It’s 75f right now. Supposed to get to 91f. A good day to walk to the post office. I’ll prolly wait 'til they finish the daily sort though. The rest of the day TBD.

Y’all take care.

Absolutely no idea what this means.

I got the lawn mowed, all the flowers watered and am now watering the shaded part of the lawn. I usually start watering pretty much at first light, but since I was going to mow the lawn I had to wait.

It’s already 72 degrees and fairly pleasant in the in shaded areas. I need to clean out and feed two of my tube bird seed feeders today, but the rest of the feeding station was cleaned and loaded yesterday. They get fresh water every day, and I took care of that this morning too. We have a both a hanging water dish/bird bath and one that sits on the ground. Both have solar powered systems that move the water, although the latest one is kind of hokey. Still and all the birds have enjoyed it. We watched a young crow just having a blast in the bird bath that sits on the ground. He kept turning his tush around to get spritzed by the water mover and then just had all kinds of fun in the bath. He was too wet to fly off, so mama and papa were quite noisy if we even stuck our heads outside, although I did put some feed on the ground for the fledgling. He eventually managed to fly off, but it took a while. One of the parents was greatly concerned and kept ripping leaves off the cherry and hazelnut trees and flinging them to the ground. There was quite the pile built up there.

Well, I supposed I should see what other shenanigans I can get up to. I did all the laundry yesterday, including bedding, so that chore is done.

Oh, well DONE with the emoticons! Well done, indeed.

Either you & I lead VERY different lives, or this was one helluvan auto-correct fail.

ETA: scooped Monkey’s box, to both of our relief. Off to make more pizzas in half an hour!

Forget it, he’s rolling…

Taters, great story on the crow bathing.

FCM, hope Roxy gets to feeling better soon.

shoe, thanks for the ZZTop song; always enjoy hearing those guys.

OK, helped with soccer uniforms and donated several items for other coaches (and cleared them out of my garage), so my good deeds for the day are done. Also pedaled 250 calories worth and may go back this evening and do it again. We’ll see.

Have a good weekend all.

Ugh. When did upstate NY turn into Floriduh? It’s been 90 with afternoon t-storms for a week.

More proof that the NWS hooch is high-proof. Today’s high is going to be 87, and tomorrow’s is to be 90. We’re in a heat advisory that ends tomorrow night, yet Monday is supposed to be 92.

I took the babushka cart to the grocery store, as I needed more of my beloved diet ginger ale. It was on sale! Buy 2 12-packs, get 2 free! Only there were only two on the shelf. A nice man at customer service kindly brought out two from Secret Soda Stash Storage.

On my way out the door, my long-time neighbor from below and across the hall passed by and asked if I lived next door to her. I was gobsmacked, as we’ve had many conversations. Maybe early-onset dementia? I told her where I live, and she asked dubiously if I was sure. Turns out she didn’t recognize me with short hair. When my hair is short, it gets curly. So in the highly improbable event that I ever turn to a life of crime (I have a conscience like a bulldozer and would turn myself in if I jaywalked.), I guess I only have to cut my hair short and maybe dye it red or something.

Still have to get to the gym.

What’s the confusion? I hear that when crypto criminals find a crypto wallet, the first thing they do is go for your ape. They’re Ape Nuts.

shoe, so happy the new job is going so well. A good boss and good cow-workers are everything…well, pay is nice, too.

FCM, hope Roxy gets better pronto and that Tobias doesn’t catch whatever it is. Also, scritches to Higgs.

I’d better head to the gym. That treadmill isn’t going to run itself, ya know…unless someone hits the Go button.

Howdy Y’all! I did all the things and even managed to get in sloth, nappage, and day drinkin’. We have fed and it’s off and on rainy out. All is good in swampland.

MOOOOOOM hope RoxStar is feelin’ better soonest.

Cookie sorry about the wife’s phone. Glad it’s nuttin’ more than a sort of minor inconvenience for y’all.

Taters cute story about the baby crow.

shoe I think I’ve had a tv dinner like the one in the video.

Largely a sloth day once the Jeep was returned. DH hasn’t been feeling well for a couple of days, so he took some Nyquil and headed for bed (reminds me, I should probably roust him for his insulin). I did do some desk mineout, scooped the cat litter, and have so far managed to not be too aggravated by FedEcchs. I am expecting a package or two today, purportedly out for delivery (one might have gone through the SmartPost setup, so I should trundle down to the mailbox and check. Would be nice if the new kitchen trash can got here today so I can toss the one with lid issues. For some reason, the prospect of putting the trash can in the dumpster amuses me.

it amused me that I could throw our old trash can in the recycling bin but I had to scrub it first … Now when they replaced our old curbside trash can that the garbage truck broke they asked for me to set it on its side so all the bugs would escape/get eaten lol

Here too.

Made and ate breakfast. Lazed about for a couple of hours. Went for a 0.37 mile walk with the Spousal Unit (so basically, no walk). Went to Rite-Aid for gel soles for Wifey’s new shoes. Took her home and got my wallet, then went to the gunsmith and the grocery store. Boiling Hebrew National hot dogs for dinner, and warning up no-bean chili.

I ventured over to the shop cuz I had an idea. The glue is drying overnight, so we shall see if’n I did good.

Oh no.flyboy Boiling hot dogs? Nope! Either on a grill or at least in a skillet. Gotta get a little maillard.
