The Slugabed MMP

Wonderful news!

Yay shoe!

Had a meeting with a client today, and it looks like I’m busy through next May. Which is nice. Prototyping and building exhibits for a museum. Expect much complaining about bad game developers. Aren’t games supposed to be…I dunno…fun? So far the ideas I’ve heard are not.

Moooooom, I’m glad that your in-laws are handing over some of the reins. It gets scary when they’re so fragile and far away.

Yay shoe! Fill us in when you can about the new gig. I do have a question for you though: when you house sit, what do you do with your critters?

Glad you and your mom are enjoying the convention JtC. Don’t over do things for the hip though.

Yay for a steady gig VanGo!

Flashed again today. Had a discussion about setting up two stations with my lead. The job has far too much downtime to be efficient. Personally, I could keep up with two set ups if they are placed correctly with no problem. She discussed it with the boss and IT, so it may happen next month.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Hip hip hooray for everybody! **:tada::confetti_ball::champagne::clinking_glasses::confetti_ball::tada:

Howdy Y’all! We did the bank stuff, hit the Chinese hog trough buffet for N.O.L., had quality cee-mint pond time, achieved nappage, and worked on our overall sloth skills. All in all not a bad day. TWPTB still say rain is comin’, but 'tis hawt and very N.O.S. out as I post. Oh and we scored two Boston butts! for 0.99/lb, at the Food Kitty. They shall be smoked on Thorsday.

shoe congarats on the new gig! Hope it’s a good one and fulfills all your expectations.

Vango good news on the steady irk! Gamin’ is not my thing so I don’t know if I would know a good one from a bad one. OK, yeah, I probably would know if I was playin’ a game and it sucked. Or not. I’m all willy-nilly like that.

WOOHOO, SHOE!!!:champagne::clinking_glasses::tada::confetti_ball::sparkles::sparkler::fireworks:

Supper is done. Dessert later. Chillage shall ensue. Tomorrow, I take MIL grocery shopping. Gonna ask FCD I we can leave on Thurs. We’ve done what we came to do.

Make sure everyone has a ton of food & water, and I wasn’t gone more than one, maybe two days. (Well, part of one day, overnight, then part of the next day.)

It’s a cat, and semi-wild rodents who don’t take kindly to being handled.
Plus two snakes, who can go a while between meals.

The Spousal Unit didn’t finish her grilled salmon I made Saturday, so I turned the rest into a salmon-salad sandwich. (Much better than canned salmon.) Goo got the skin. Then I had a bowl of Albert with parmesan cheese on it. Now I’m stuffed.

Is Albert vegetable, animal or mineral?

Broccoli, of course.

Oi. I should not be allowed out of the house. Went to the infusion center to get the shots, and dang it, I’d left the Epipen in my backpack again. This is the second time in a row! New rule: Epipen stays in purse. If I’m taking my backpack, I put in the backup Epipen. They gave me the shots anyway after making me swear I understood the risks and wouldn’t sue them if I went into anaphylactic shock.

Oh, but that’s not the end of my Circus of Stupidity. I was half a block from the clinic when I heard the nurse calling me: I’d left my wallet behind. Seriously, I can’t afford to lose any more brain cells.

In happier news, I burned off over 1300 calories today: 7.5 miles walked, 35 minutes on the treadmill at max incline. Go, me. My legs are killing me. My sister suggested liquid painkiller, the 80 proof kind. Maybe I can lose a few brain cells.

And speaking of sisters, the one I’ve been so worried about made an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon. Thank heavens. It’s not the answer to all her problems, but I’m hoping against hope it’s the beginning of a healthier trend.

MetalMouse, I haven’t read anything about any shootings, so whatever it was, nobody was hurt. Whew.

HOOOOOORAY, SHOE! :confetti_ball:

Yes, they do! I love them, too–and you for being so happy for me!

VanGo, congrats on the happy job news!

Time to start singing Black Sabbath songs at the top of your lungs.

Sari, you must have calluses on your tongue from biting it so often when Barky’s mom is around. Also, I’m impressed by your friend’s strength and speed, especially with those health issues! Here’s hoping she won’t have to do so very often in the future.

I know this can’t be what it sounds like.

It takes me over 50 minutes to walk 2.6 miles on the flat (except for the 1/10 mile hill from and to the house).

Short heave today, since 2 Airs were delayed. Which means 6000 extra pieces to do tomorrow. :grimacing:

YAY!

Good. We wouldn’t want to Lector you on the evils of cannibalism.

Yay!

yay for the employment

Boo for me because everything hurt that could …

Yay Shoe! You go woman!

There’s a small fire just west of here, and we’ve just been raised from level 1 (hey wake up!) to level 2 (pack a ‘go’ bag.). If we’re upgraded to a level 3 we’re supposed to bug out.

Keep a happy thought.

Speaking of bugging out, looks like we’ll be leaving on Thurs. Yay! Tomorrow, FCD will talk with his brother about taking over for their mother in managing his finances. I’ll take MIL to Aldi and WalMart and maybe Publix. Then we’ll get supper from Sonny’s, and leave early on Thurs.

Yes, I’m ready.

Evening all. Worked with the 9U girls, only 8 of them were there and it was 90F so there were many water breaks and not a lot of running. Went pretty good, wish more kids (and more coaches/coordinators) had been there, but tomorrow is the first official day of school so maybe they didn’t have time for it. Started to work with the 10U group which came in after the 9U, but they had plenty of coaches and I was fairly tired, so bid them adieu about 7pm and came home to a Big Bowl O’Sallit.

Bumba, hope the fire stays away you don’t have to bugout.

nellie, that’s a lot of walking. Can understand how you burn so many calories. And I’ve forgotten stuff like that before; what gets me is when I walk into a room and completely forget why I was going there…5-10 seconds ago…

FCM, safe travels on Thorsday.

Shoe, great news and hope this one provides some steadiness, both in the work and in your life.

VanGo, Yahoo! on the steady work (and hopefully steady income). Will you still be able to provide that shop with stuff to sell in-between museum work?

OK, need to get a thing or two more done, then off to bed I go. All y’all take care.

That’s a good pace!

The 7.56 miles I walked outdoors (some of it flat, some not) took me 2 hours and 49 minutes, according to my phone app. (I’m just over 5’2, if that matters.) And I made a typo: it was 38 minutes on the treadmill. I do a 15 incline at 3.9 mph for some of the time and 4.0 mph for the rest. I like a challenge, plus, frankly, I want to get it over with as quickly as possible. I obviously don’t go nearly that fast when I’m not on a treadmill. I’d probably trip and fall.

My late mother’s favorite joke: The minister says to an elderly parishioner, “Sister Emily, do you believe in a hereafter?” Emily says, “Oh, yes! Every time I walk into a room, I have to stop and ask myself, ‘What am I hereafter?’”

Happens to me on the daily.

Bumba, hope you don’t have to bug out. Dang, fire season is awful.

shady, so sorry you’re hurting.

It’s disappointing I haven’t been making 3 mph. (Today was 2.9 mph.) With my knees, it’s hard going down and up the hill; down, because going down is harder, and up because it’s the last 1/10 mile after walking down the beach. I’ve noticed that walking on the gravel parts of the berm slows me down too.

Ah. I thought you were running the treadmill; not separate workouts.

This is wonderful news!
