I’m still tired. Good thing it’s Firday. I have to drive to another office for a meeting this afternoon, then drive back right back, since I don’t want to drive in summer-Friday-rush-hour if I can avoid it. I’m hoping that’s all the excitement I’ll have today.
It’s supposed to stay in the 70s through the weekend at heat up again on Monday. I’m not looking forward to the heat this summer.
It’s not a lack of being able to sleep- it’s a combination of having to get up really early with my son and sleeping poorly when I’m the only adult- since my hubby is away. I hear every noise and keep waking up.
Well at least you’re getting summer, Swampy. I fear we won’t even see that.
Don’t get me wrong; I do NOT like extreme heat. But more than a day or two of sun would be nice.
Mr. Taters has mowed the front lawn and will be mowing the back as soon as he’s done eating. I’ve showered and am getting ready to clean up inside before I head outside to do some work.
Home from irk. It’s only 95 Amurrkin out. A veritable cold front it is! Looks like clouds are buildin’ up to the west. I take that as a perhaps good sign of rain in a little while. Bring it on! I got nowhere to go and nuttin’ to do, and I got beerverages and in a little while OYKW to keep me entertained.
**BBBobbio **- gee, we didn’t lose power. We didn’t even have a flicker. Are you sure you paid your bill…
Team building picnic was fun. Bossman brought these gigantic steaks that were good, but the steak knives were pretty wussy, so it was a challenge to cut them. But the food was good and we had some fun conversations - found out my boss wants to become a golf pro, and he’s pretty close to completing the requirements. He’s too young to retire, but he said with his savings and the pay as a pro, he’d do OK. So he has a plan. And there was much laughter and I was kinda sorry to leave, but the doggie needed to go outside…
Heating up today - I closed the house and turned on the air because **FCD **would whine about 78 and humid. Dunno if I’ll be able to open back up after sundown. The weekend will be hot and humid again. Rah.
And that’s all I’ve got for now. TGIF and all that!
Dindin is et. Soak in the whirlpool tub has been had by both of us. Not together cause well, the tub won’t sit two. Also, it’s rainin’! I’m lookin’ for some tboomers to show up as well. I walked outside and it felt good. It’s still hawt as in 95 Amurrkin but I expect it will cool down in short order.
It is loaded and set and ready to go but I need to run out and get the HE laundry detergent. I will be do laundry all evening and I am excited…oh what my life has come to…
I am going to pick up some groceries while I am out then settle in with mr ems for the evening. Vino is chilling, steaks are marinading I might swing by the Redbox and pick up a movie as well.
I worked very hard in my yard all day. The front and side are done and I put a huge dent in the back yard. Unfortunately, my yard waste bin is completely full, so I had to stop. I would have kept going if I’d had the room.
Hubby cut the grass and I weeded the entire front and side, and trimmed the hell out of some bushes along my front walkway. I then started weeding the large garden in the backyard. It is a real eyesore right now.:o We had started weeding there a few weeks ago, the bin got full and then the weather turned to shit.
Unfortunately, our yard waste bin is only emptied every two weeks and it was just emptied last Wednesday. We’ll have to wait to do more weeding.
After I get all the weeding squared away, I’ll buy some plants. I’ve got a few areas in the front I’d like to put some flowers and decorative grasses in, and I need to put some plants in the back again. The only plants I have in the back right now are a weeping pussy willow and Japanese lace leaf maple tree. None of my flowers or other decorative plants have survived because of the dogs, poor soil and areas that were too steep.
Scruffy is about to find herself boxed up and mailed to Outer Mongolia! Shortly after 4 this morning, she started barking. I took her out, then put her back in her cage and went back to bed. She started barking again. I persuaded her to shut up, but about 5, she started again. Is this what retirement will be like?
I don’t know how to break her of this early rising - and it’s gotten earlier in recent weeks. She doesn’t play or fetch or any of that, so I can’t tire her out in the evening. I let her out easily half a dozen times between supper and bedtime. And she spends all day when I’m at work in her cage, so I know she can control her bladder for more than 6 or 7 hours. grrrrrrrrrr I’m exhausted, an it’s mostly because of this idiot dog!
Plus I keep re-starting the blood flow from the cut on my finger. It did fine all night, but when I washed, then dried, my hands, I managed to get it bleeding again. This is going to be a loooooong healing process.
And on top of it all, I got the first air conditioning bill of the season - over $200!! Stoopit heat wave! I’m dreading the rest of the summer.
Other than that, I guess it’s a good morning. <sigh>
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis 70 degrees Amurrkin with an expected high of 97. Yep it’s summer. We had tboomers and rain again last night. YAY!!! Maybe more today. Right now it’s all cloudy.
Today we are goin’ over to the church house around two for a 50th weddin’ anniversary doin’s. I figure that’s worth goin’ to celebrate. Plus, we like these people a lot. Speakin’ of church house, we are in the midst of celebratin’ St. Pat’s 50th anniversary. It began last Sunday and carries on the next three Sunday’s. Apparently we were founded as a mission church on July 3, 1961. Tomorrow a former Rector of the church will be preachin’. The followin’ Sunday our Bishop will be there. Then July 3rd there will be some big whoop-de-doo carryin’s on. Plus on July 1st we’re havin’ a Parish celebration at a local park that evenin’. The park has a really nice buildin’ we’ll be usin’ cause, well, it’s July in south Jawja so even at night it’s hawt! Should be fun.
