The Start of The Irk Week MMP

So, did it happen or not…? Inquiring [del]eyes[/del] minds need to know!

Apparently it’s getting to be “Mediterranean” enough that the felt the need to ban Minarets, a couple years back…

Sorry for your friend, Taxi :frowning:
I don’t know people like that, but Yiddish has a name for them: “Shlemazel”. The difference between a Shlemiel and a *Shlemazel *is that the Shlemiel always spills the soup in the Shlemazel’s lap.

Ah, the Shlemiel is a gafe, and the Shlemazel is a gafado.

Still sending love and prayers to Gnat and the Lissar family.

But why did they put, “Hasenpfeffer Incorporated” at the end of it?

Howdy Y’all! Takin’ a break and checkin’ in. Apparently I have made my irk nemesis’s irk more irksome because her supervisor is makin’ sure said nemesis is actually doin’ her job. So, I have made irk more irksome for someone who irked me.

‘Tis dreary and stormy out with tornado watches in effect. This has been your late mornin’ south Jawja weather report.

Later Y’all!

ETA: HEE Annie!

Welp, time to start looking for a new job. Not bad, really: it’s been a whole year (which looks quite round in a resume, lots of jobs in my sector are for months or weeks), it’s been a pretty decent run, and I was starting to get a real bad case of itchy feet. Hopefully the next one will qualify as “not bad” when it ends, too.

The two weeks’ warning put me at Easter; I’ll have to speak with the owner of my flat about whether I keep it for May or not. I’d rather clean out at the end of April, but strictly speaking the contract includes May.

Just checking in… busy this morning.

Rosie’s sig all around!

Nava, Escondido is aptly named because it sits in a bowl-shaped valley, hidden from the rest of the world.

Oh boy, the work related excitement abounds. I get a break from [del]watching paint dry[/del]observing software testing to sit in a weekly meeting that I am privy to. That one is like watching corn grow.

And you thought business travel was adventurous.

… and in the “funny intentional mistranslations” department my new favorite is:

“Yo no soy marinero soy capitan” -> “Don’t marinate the captain in soy sauce”

(from this thread, posts 20 and 21)

I guess if there are words for it, at least in Yiddish and Spanish, it’s relatively common. ::sigh::

Because “Hasenpfeffer, LLC” didn’t flow?

Home from irk. 'Tis cool and rainy. I’m also hongry. I think a PB&J will hold me over til soup 'n sammich time.

That is all.

Good grief, swampy, could you be any gayer?!?!?

:D:D:D:D:D

It’s grey and drizzly and cold and icky here. Who the &@(^%$*>#+ *stole spring?? I am neither pleased nor amused and I demand this situation be rectified immediately, dammit!!!

Poke tenderloin marinating in teriyaki at the moment. I’m going to steam some rice and cook up some sort of vegetable matter to go with it. Mebbe green beans? I’ve got a load of jeans in the washer, and I hope to do another load of something before the evening is out.

C’mon, Fiday!!!

Oh now that’s just mild gay. Quotin’ large patches of the script from Steel Magnolias, now that’s gay!

I spotted a geeky t-shirt at lunch. On the front: “Schroedinger’s cat is alive.”; on the back: “Schroedinger’s cat is dead.”

How cool are these??

Waaaaaaaaay Cool!

I’ll take one of each to go, please. Smokey needs little variety in her life.

But don’t you see? When you want them to grow, the little turds just up and die. I have had this class, and nothing kill bacteria like expecting them to colonize into neat, tidy, single colonies.

Yes. And the two of the five organisms I set up didn’t grow so I had to change experiments on the fly. Buggers.

So, bacteria is like cats. Won’t come when called?

Home from Evening Prayer and soup 'n sammich. 'Twas good. Tortellini soup with chikin sallit and pimento cheese sammiches. MMMMMMMM…

Now I shall go lie upon the bed and watch teevee 'til beddy bye time.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Hmmm, SO, somehow when I read it, it sounded like the time change was Wednesday night. Thursday night I can kinda understand.

It had the temerity to snow today. Although I am refusing to recognize the existence of snow as Spring has sprung and there should be sunshine and flowers and stuff.

I’m tired, but just need to make it through tomorrow before I get a long weekend. (I’m taking both Friday and Monday.)

**rosie’s **sig to all I’ve missed.

Gotta knit for a while and then figure out what else I’m supposed to be doing.

Hugs.
