Howdy Y’all! I forgot I had a meetin’ with my church leadership team after deheathenization, until I got to the church house. :smack: Thus I have been back at da cave for about thirty minutes now. We went and had N.O.L. at Newk’s, which is a place I’ve eaten at a couple of times, but never think about. 'Tis good, so I don’t know why I never think to go there. Anywho, ‘twas a productive meetin’, so there’s that.
WetOne congrats! Keep up the good work!
I had a Cocker Spaniel, Jake, AKA Bobo, who would go fetch the right toy when told to go get such and such toy. I would get down on the floor and he would “dare” me to try to take it away. That was his favorite game. He’s been gone twenty-one years now and I still miss my baby boy.
Now that the rain stopped and my hands and feet unfstiffened, I’m going to walk to the pharmacy to pick up my new aromatase inhibitors. Doesn’t that sound like something that would keep you from smelling and tasting…or tasing? It’s a 1.5 mile walk each way, so that’ll take a chunk of time. I’ll stop in at the grocery store on the way home and figure out dinner while I’m there. I love the grocery store.
Sunday is the day my kids call, and usually a relative or six. Already heard from my sister and sister-in-law.
I miss my long-gone dogs and dream about them often.
**FCD **finally finished his heat sink project, so WHEW!! SIL brought lunch for everyone but me - he didn’t think to ask me. On the other hand, he went to Five Guys, and I don’t much like them, so no biggie in that respect. But it does tick me off that he didn’t think to even ask me.
I’ve been watching a series called Hamish Macbeth on Prime - it’s a bit goofy, but I’m enjoying it. The accent is a challenge.
Mom, your SIL should have to clean up after supper. And stand in the corner for awhile.
Made a chocolate cake for the deer-camp. Man, oh, man… I want a piece. (:()
I did eat a spoonful of chocolate/peanut butter icing. My eyeballs shook it was so sweet. But yummy. My insulin pump went psycho for a minute. No alarms. One more lick woulda sent it over.
I made some chili. Not speaking to me though. I may give it to the DIL.
The cats are being very good today. Puppies had fun outside while I was bulbing.
The came-from-behind game of the season and I didn’t get to see or hear it. I either need better internet, a move west, or something! Anyone know a radio station that broadcasts the Vikings over the internet – preferably for free?
(yes – I am THAT cheap of a bitch even for things I love)
Afternoon all. Dinner was served at Red Robin (double cheeseburger and fries with a salad because I want to be healthy, of course), then lawn was mowed for the last time this year (just about emptied the gas tank and the 2-gallon can is empty, so good management by me). Nappage has occured, so outside of finding sustenance for the evening, all is well.
wet one, it’s not going to be easy, but it is going to be worth it. Hang in there.
ruble, watched most of the second half here (we have Ravens-Texans, but that was such a rout they switched us to a more competitive game). I get Sirius/XM so can get the games on the car, but don’t know any freebies.
Becks, enjoy the bulbs.
nelly, 1.5 mile walk? 3 mile round trip? Think I’ll stay where I am, if you don’t mind.
Enjoyed reading about the dogs and fetching. Me, I pick up stuff then forget where I put it…
All y’all have a good evening and I’ll catch you on Moanday, when I have the Great November Laundry Day.
swampy, there’s a Newk’s in the same shopping center with Sprout’s Market where I do most of the grocery shopping. I’ve only eaten there a couple of times, but it wasn’t bad. Like you, I rarely think about it.
The aigplant dish was good and the butter chickpeas have some serious heat to them. It’s the first time that I’ve done them (I’ve done butter tofu and butter chicken before, but I’m liking the chickpeas). Bonus, my apartment smells amazing.
Here is a link to the hair, as requested.
My big activities for tonight are revising my grocery delivery order and figuring out what to feed the ravening horde.
The stuffed peppers turned out okay, just okay. I had way too much stuffing for the number of peppers I had, so they were piled high. A little too greasy as I mixed in some pork sausage with the ground beef. The dogs can get a spoonful, or three, of grease over their food for a few days, that will make them happy.
MetalMouse, if you have sirius in the car you should be able to get it on your computer too.
No chikin ‘n dressin’ tonight but ‘twill be on the menu for Tuesday. Tomorrow night is men’s night over to the church house, so steaks are marinatin’ and beer is chillin’. Oh well, I can prep stuff for chikin’ ‘n dressin’ tomorrow. That is when I get done dealin’ with the plumber at the church house tomorrow mornin’. In other news I hauled the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow.
MM I will need to do one more mow myself this year. Mayhaps one day this week. Actually needs to be one day this week as next week will entail prep for Turkey Day feast. The joy of the Horrorday season will then be upon us.
**Sunny ** I love it. Wonder if I could pull it off. I am probably older than you but what the hell.
Day is winding down. We had burgers for supper. Will get us by until the next one. I haven’t been in a cooking mood lately. Have started the new season of The Crown on Netflix. Mooommmm I think you would like this one. Obviously I would start with season one :p.
I already don’t want to go to irk tomorrow. I want to start thinking about putting up my $800 Christmas tree that I got after Christmas last year for $150. It’s 9 feet tall. I have high ceilings in places. It will have to have a fence around it to keep the hellion from tearing it up. I need to order a fence first.
At irk we have a tree that will go up the day after Thanksgiving. And not by me. I have a clerk that will do it by herself.
Happy almost new week everyone. Be safe and warm. It got down to 68F last night and warmed up to upper 70’sF today. This is Fall like. Love it.
Just noticed I started posting in November of 2010 so I have been here 9 years already. Where does the time go?
nice… it looks better than the do it at home jobs one sees around here … yesterday was brothers and nephews birthday but there’s a depressing narrative about that so it wasn’t a happy day …
The meatloaf came out a bit on the crumbly falling-apart side. I suspect that I needed to add more egg to bind it more. 2 eggs in 2 lb. beef, plus tomato sauce, oats, and seasonings, does not seem to have been adequate.
I decided a little while back that since I can’t work, and don’t have to worry about my employer freaking out about my hair, I am going to have fun with my hair. It’s one real benefit of being disabled.
I say you should do it.
heh, you live near san fran right? going in with magenta to work probably wouldn’t make anyone blink these days… I’ve heard of people going to work (for online start-ups) in clothes that used to be considered pajamas …
The lil’wrekker has had pink hair a few times the last few years. It looks so cute on her, when I get used to it.
I think I would like, maybe lavender. But, I don’t know of this thing ‘fun with hair’
I’m way too anal to enjoy such a thing. (;))
Sunny Daze, you have GORGEOUS hair–and not just the color (which is wonderful). Color me envious.
Stainless Steel Rat, I could have taken the bus, but it only runs every hour on Sundays, and what with waiting and walking to the stop and all, I might as well walk it. It’s better for me, too. Sometimes I really, really wish I could still drive. I’ve made that walk hundreds of times, and it does get old. But at least I CAN walk!
Well, it’s just after midnight. Time for bed. Sweet dreams, everyone!
