I’m up, but not for long. I thought I’d turned this off… But now I will. MWAH!!
Not a dogwood, not a redbud. Bark looks like some sort of apple
Know anybody in the local DMV? I’m sure that dropping a dime might be fun…
Well that was fun; outta my left eye, I was watchin’ the man-made pyrotechnics. Outta my right eye, I was watchin’ Mother Nature’s version. I was standing right next to my car door so I didn’t care but there were lots of people watchin’ from the field & within two minutes of the show ending, the heavens opened up. Glad I was in my car, dry & on my way home by then!
NC is honey and mustard.
I once fed Mrs. Plant (v.20) grape leaves wrapped about my basic meatball recipe.
Due to her bitching about Southern food, I served them to her wrapped in mustard greens, collards, and, hell, perhaps poke sallit.
She never noticed, and liked it because she thought that I was spending money on grape leaves.
She is somewhere now, signaling ships at sea with Mama Plant’s wedding ring.
So you went to the football match and a hockey game broke out?
I just took a nap and now I’m awake again. I s’pose I’ll work on the Neverending Teal Blanket Take Eleventy-Seven until I’m sleepy again.
:dubious: Bless your heart.
In Eastern N.C., they use a vinegar based sauce, just as God Himself intended. In the west around Lexington, the heretics use a tomato based sauce. In South Carolina, they use a mustard based sauce. To quote the South Carolina legislator when SC wanted secede from the Confederacy, “SC is too small to be a nation, and too large to be an insane asylum.”
Spaz,
Maybe it’s crab apple, the trees are short.
I was thinking the one needed to be cut down because it’s so close to the house but maybe not.
When I lived in the city I had an apple tree and a crab apple tree but I can’t remember what the flowers looked like.
Somebody already did, the DMV has been out here once.
There were a few other cars in the neighborhood with out of state tags. Everybody else had to switch.
I have no idea how they get away with things but if there is a way to circumvent the system he will know how to do it.
I keep forgetting that the South does things the right way.
Thanks for reminding me, ignorance fought!
I knew I liked you for a reason.
**sari **- I’m pretty sure that’s a crabapple tree. My bestest friend when I was a kid had one in her front yard. We’d pick the apples and every once in a while, we’d get a sweet one! The rest were too sour and became ammo. Ah, youth and little brothers.
Higgs started whining around 5, and once I’m up, I’m up, so here it goes. Once it’s daylight and **FCD **heads out on his Harley, I’m going to get into grubbies and spend a few hours outside. This afternoon, I’ve got a woman coming by to buy some cast iron pots I advertised - one less thing in the garage - yay!
I had to send an email to a friend who we offered all our residual boat stuff to - he was supposed to come get it last week, but I’ve heard nothing from him. He was whining about paying the $6 toll between VA and here. I’m giving him several hundred dollars worth of stuff for free, and he’s got an issue with $6??? He’s employed, his wife is employed - WTF??? Anyway, if he can’t get his ass over here this week, I’m donating it all to… I don’t know, someone. Seriously, dude - it’s free. I’m doing you a favor. But when I start getting inconvenienced, you start losing favor. DAMMIT!!!
<deep cleansing breaths>
Anyway, today will be playing with rocks and dirt. Good times! Happy Sunday!
I’m up. I need coffee. I can’t believe that I started scooping litterboxes, and vacuuming, BEFORE I had coffee. I must be getting ill.
I’m a bit achy from the yardwork, yesterday. I’ll either get over it, or not. Another day is underway, and I have stuff to do.
FCM, good luck with your friend, and the picking up of the free boat stuff! I hope he shows up. It’s great that you’re selling the cast iron stuff that you want to get rid of. I cook with cast iron daily, and I adore it. I have several pieces, and if I lived close to you, I’d have bought whatever you wanted to sell!
I hope everyone has a nice Sunday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 53 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 86 for the day. I have a feelin’ the A/C might get turned on today if’n that’s true.
doggio redneck aigrolls sound yummy! I might have to try that sometimes. Might be an interestin’ thing to serve out to the cee-mint pond.
I am surprisingly not sore this mornin’. I expected to get up all stiff and sore. Go Me! Today is Brunch Sunday. I’m takin’ coleslaw and a gallon each of sweet and unsweet tea. I made enough slaw to have some for today. Folks like it so I figure it’ll get eaten. Plus, MOG is bringin’ some bbq so it’ll looked like we planned it that way. I am also a Lector (the readin’ kind) this mornin’. I suppose I should look at the lesson I am supposed to read.
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy is hongry. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.
Happy Sunday Y’all!

May the Fourth
Star Wars Day

A long time ago, in
Yes, I’m a geek with entirely too much time on his hands. Up, caffeinated, and off to work. Hockey after work, naturally.
FCM, I should use my cast iron stuff occasionally.
swampy, my hip is bothering me. Aren’t we too young to be old?
Happy Thar Warth Day. May the Fourth be with you.
Bawahaha!
Spousal unit is on his way to play with his HOG buddies. Guess I should go play in dirt for a while.
Up and caffienating. I pulled a muscle in my hip last week, so I’ve been resting it the last couple of days. It’s improving a bit but I still need to take i-be-hopin’* first thing in the morning.
I think I’ll spend the morning on the porch supplementing my vitamin D supplement. After yesterday’s long line at the entrance fiasco, I don’t think I’ll head to the farmer’s market. That’ll wait until a weekday.
*Generic name for Advil. As in “I-be-hopin’ this works.” I can’t take credit for coming up with that, but man I wish I could.
doggio I’m pushin’ the big 6-0. I think I’m supposed to have aches and pains. Still can’t believe I am not all sore and stove up this mornin’.
I’m waitin’ on OYKW to finish purtifyin’. Ok actually he just stumbled into the bathroom so it’ll be a bit yet. He does not do mornin’ very well. He’s had caffiene and brekkie, however, so that should kick in shortly. However, if he wants to do sump’n like go out for breakfast, he can get it in gear in short order.
Ace, I’m sorry that you only got to see your husband for a few minutes. Boo.
The show was a bust. It alternated raining and sunshine every 20 minutes until I happened to look at the radar and saw a severe storm coming by. I put down the tent sides and secured everything just as it was passing through. It was very scary and just as the worst of it hit, my entire tent frame buckled and was destroyed. Fortunately my product was mostly unharmed but it was a race to get it all torn down and packed before it started raining again. As a result I was hit hard in my bad knee, bruised my arms, cut my leg and my hand, and apparently somehow hurt my hip (thanks, doggio for passing it along ).
The upside, I guess, is that it gave me more time to spend with RT before I have to take him back to his truck since I’m not at the show again today.
Happy Sunday!
It’s another beautiful sunny day.
I have things to do but nothing special so it will get done when it does and not before.
