The trim is finally painted!! Now I have to go touch up where I got trim paint on the walls. Never ends… I also moved some rocks, and after I have some lunch, I’ll dig up some more. It’s a gorgeous day out, and I’m getting all kinds of fresh air and sunshine!
Pics later.
It’s a crabapple. Used to own a couple of them.
So, I was in Lowe’s this morning, and that bitch surgeon that cancelled on me twice walked by me, pushing a big cart of plants and oblivious to the world except her own. I kept my big mouth shut, but I revelled in eeeeeeevil thoughts…
Mooooooooooom, the Hawg Trawff opened up this weekend. If Swampy ever visits, we have a high class place to take him now.
Happy Slothday, mumpers! I have been relatively slothful today, in honour of the occasion. Not that I need an occasion to be slothful, other than it being Sunday. So what have I done…a bit of baking, a bit of ironing, a bit of tellybox watching, a bit of exercise and now I’m running a bath. Oh, and I RSVP’d to two wedding invites, guess I’d better dust off my hat.
Today there was a big Sikh celebration with a huge parade through the city centre that ended up with a big party type of thing in the park round the corner from home. Thus the street has been clogged with parked cars today, there is a constant stream of traffic up and down the road, and I have thus declared us confined to barracks for the day.
Nuts - my local team played their final home game yesterday and finished top of their league (not such a great acheivement since they got relegated two years in a row) so there was partying on the pitch but apparently no nastiness for a change. There were pitch invasions in the last few matches and also smoke bombs thrown at the players and the ref so the club’s been busy identifying the miscreants and banning them from the ground.
Apparently tomorrow the mayor and other civic worthies are having some kind of official reception for said bunch of overpaid underachievers in the city centre so if I decide to go out anywhere, it needs to be in the opposite direction. I may have to venture out with 'im indoors to do some holiday clothes shopping for him but luckily the place I plan on going is nowhere near where any civic do-gooding will be happening.
Oh, did I mention we’re off to Mexico in three weeks’ time?
Good afternoon everyone.
Today will me a day of rest, meaning I will spend it cleaning house. Though I can do that at my pace without dealing with other people, so that is close to rest for me.
Went to a show at the Ram’s Head in Annapolis again; this time it was John Wesley, a progressive rock guitarist with a few solo albums and a growing fan base. Took some friends with me and we had a grand time.
The trip to see Capt Kirk at the Matt Schofield concert reminded me how much fun live music was, and that if you were careful you could do it on a budget.
Other than that it’s quiet around here, and I like that. Hope everyone else is enjoying their day as well.
I don’t know that I’ll go there - they have Pepsi instead of Coke. ick.
I need to forage for lunch - manual labor is hungryfying!
Happy Sunday/Slothday/Funday
Thing Two lost her mind last night, hot cop action ensued. I am not amused.
I am going to do something outside, later Mumpers.
I want to go see Real Madrid vs. Athletico Madrid in Portugal, that is Football to me. I cannot begin to plumb the depths of despair were my home team to be relegated. Go Dynamo.
Jim
Howdy Y’all! I am all deheathenated, brunched and napped. Stoopid sinuses are buggin’ me so I had a Benadryl[sup]TM[/sup] induced nappy poo. Matter of fact my haid is still fuzzy from it. Well that and pollen. Stoopid pollen.
BBBobbio as long as it’s extra special classy.
Done for the day. **FCD **is home. Friend came over and picked up all the boat stuff. We reorganized the garage, put stuff away, and parked the car and the bike inside with room to spare. Yay!
Check out my snazzy, freshly painted shed! I put a bunch of rocks along the left side to hold back the fill. I’ve still got about 6 more feet to go, then I’ll bring out a couple of beds on either side of the ramp, and fill them with plantage.
With luck, tomorrow, I can finish digging up and hauling rocks.
Now I’m waiting for a call from a woman who wants to buy my set of cast iron cookware. She said she’d be coming back from VA to the southern part of our county, which brings her pretty close to my house. She was really worried about getting the pots, so I’m pretty sure I’ll hear from her.
Meanwhile, I need to think about supper. What to do…?? Time to stare in the freezer.
I hate to shop.
I’m even starting to hate online shopping.
The mortgage company is looking for numbers and I am appliance shopping online.
It would be nice if I could get everything from the same place but I think that won’t happen. It would be nice to get at least all the kitchen appliances at the same place and in the same colors.
I don’t care so much about the washer and dryer.
They have to be functional, not pretty.
I know people who decorate their laundry rooms, I’m not one of them.
I don’t decorate my laundry room either, unless you count 3 stylish plastic laundry baskets full of dirty clothes “decorating”.
We got all of our kitchen appliances from Lowe’s, all from the same manufacturer, so all the same color - almond (or biscuit, as they call it now.) I almost wish we’d gone with white - we need to replace the fridge soon and finding one in the right color is next to impossible.
All of a sudden, I’m exhausted. Too much fresh air and sunshine, I guess.
I’ll try Lowes.
I’ve look at IKEA, Best Buy and Overstock.com.
I’m not looking for fancy, I won’t be buying a $3000 fridge. I’d like to but I won’t.
I’d like to get a separate freezer too but I don’t know if that will be in the budget.
Kind of jumping the gun anyway, for all I know the foundation is about to collapse.
Golden Corral is offering an “Early Bird Special” weekdays from 2pm to 4pm for folks 60 yo +.
These days, most 60 yos would call that a late lunch, not an early dinner. The days of getting up at 5am and going to sleep at 7pm are disappearing among the seniors I know.
I get up around 5, but I can make it till 9 before I drag myself to bed.
But I wouldn’t eat at Golden Corral anyway - overcooked veggies and greasy meats just don’t do it for me.
I’ve got an oatmeal cake in the oven - I found the recipe and decided to try it. I threw some pecans on the top, and I’ve got caramel topping in the fridge - if it works on ice cream, it should work on cake, right? We’ll find out. Meanwhile, supper will be mac-n-cheese, because it’s easy and I don’t feel like cooking - especially after baking a cake.
Worked, left early, walked Gordie, watching hockey and drinking beer
Except for Mooommmm!.
sari, I don’t have a laundry room. If I did, it would be organized, but not decorated.
Boofae, the Canes play like they want to be relegated. But I still pay top price.
Higgs has a sick tummy. She was eating grass earlier, and she just horked up half a dozen times. We’re eating and she’s not begging. Poor puppy.
I’m making some plain white rice - I’d read where that’s something good and benign to give to a sick pup. We shall see. Poor stoopit puppy.
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) and I were there once. There was a group of women halting the serving line by lingering about, waiting for the latest batch of chicken to arrive. I thought they were going to go Postal.
Given my experience with canines, if she is not begging at the dinner table, she must be Near Death.
I make rice with chicken stock, a garlic clove and sesame oil. The dogs will eat the leftovers from my hand, which grosses out Mrs. Plant (v.3.0).
I am appalled y’all do not decorate your laundry rooms. How embarrassin’ it must be for your washers and dryers that they can’t invite their friends over because they are so ashamed of their room!
MOOOOOOM I’ve had a vet recommend plain white rice for upset doggy tummy.
Also, Golden Corral is the fart blossom of restaurants.
I think it’s time to collapse in my recliner. I’s tahred!!! MWAH!!
