The sure sign of Spring MMP

Gah. Roomie has finally broken me. Getting a second dog was supposed to be a reward for moving to a new house with a nice yard. And then today, she sent me this. Exactly what we wanted, and only about ten minutes from home. We’re probably going to go down there tonight to see if he and Winchester get along. Because starting Saturday, I have plenty of time to take care of a puppy until we move.

Well, I might as well get started on the bedroom. Cleaning Fairy didn’t show up again. Dammit. :stuck_out_tongue:

The executive decision has been made to postpone trippin’ up to the north forty. Some seriously bad storms be brewin’ all around the area. Da bear cares not to drive in such weather. All parties agree.

Rosie happy movin’ day. Be sure to have plenty of boxes for Smokey to play in, with, and around.

Break time! So far, I’ve vacuumed up dust in the corners, along the ceiling, behind the furniture, and along the baseboards, as well as the ceiling fan and some picture frames. I’ve washed bedroom and bathroom windows inside and out (love the tilt-in!) and I’ve got the curtains and valences washed and in the dryer. I also dusted one night stand and the ddresser, stripped the bed and hauled all the laundry, including towels, downstairs where I sorted it all.

Once I get a beverage to clear the dust from my throat, I’ll dust the last two pieces of furniture, finish vacuuming the rug, and make the bed. Screw this Happy Homemaker crap!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope the move goes smooth Rosie!

Arrival of parental units imminent- assuming they don’t get lost, which is a fairly large assumption. I did try getting the house looking like responsible adults lives here before they arrive, but realised that would involve knocking it down and building a new one, so I just cleaned the kitchen a bit. They have good immune systems, it’ll be fine

The temp has dropped to 66 Amurrkin. It’s very windy and a tstorm is in the makin’. We are not amused by the temp drop at all. Icky, icky, icky day!

Cute puppy** Drae**
I hope you get him.

I’ve been busy but I feel like I am getting nothing done.

Here comes my neighbor again, only now she is circling the block in the opposite direction. This is the one who thinks ghost children are in her car and she can’t get them out. It upsets her because she wants to go places and she can’t until they get out of the car.
All her husband does is tell her not to tell people about the kids, I wonder if he has taken her to the doctor, and I wonder if she should still be driving.

Y’all make me feel better about the big clump of dog hair I pulled out of the caster under my rolling desk. I saw a little bit of fuzz sticking out and held it with my toe while I rolled the desk away. Big clump of dog hair must have been up under the wheel.

Just finishing my lunch break. The dusting and vacuuming and window washing and tidying is done in the bedroom. The curtains are out of the dryer, but they need to be ironed, dammit. So I’m going to make the bed then set up the ironing board in the bedroom and hang the curtains as I iron them.

Then I quit. Well, I need to empty the dishwasher, but then I’ll quit. Except for the load in the dryer that’ll need to be brought upstairs, folded, and put away, but then I’ll quit.

I hate housework!!!

Who knew one room would take so long to clean?? OK, I was also running back and forth to the basement doing laundry, and I took a lunch break and miscellaneous other little distractions, but doggone, it was still a major chore. At least it’s done.

We’ll have to do the blue guest room before FCD’s folks arrive in 3 weeks, but I’ll have help with that one. And it’s a smaller room, so that’ll help. I hope. Except I still need to wash the curtains and clean the windows.

Tahred!!!

I’ve got a load from the dryer that needs to be folded and put away, and I still haven’t emptied the dishwasher. All in good time. I just want to sit for a little bit.

Housework sucks. Just so’s you know.

Alas, the shelter tells us that he sees all cats as food, and I am not ready to serve Khan to a puppy just yet. Not with his sixteenth birthday this week. It’s probably for the best–I don’t need the added responsibility of a puppy who’s going to eat his own weight in kibble every day for the next six months while I’m trying to find somebody to buy our house.

Bummer Drae
He is a cutie.

Boy do I feel dumb
My printer wouldn’t scan yesterday. It was working fine, I printed out a form, signed it and tried to scan it and no go.
All my printer would do is put a great big

KODAK
HOME CENTER SOFTWARE
in the middle of my screen. The options menu wouldn’t come up, I couldn’t move the box to the side, it was staying front and center and the only way to get rid of it was to restart the computer.
I worked on it for over an hour yesterday, and over an hour today. I unplugged the cable, I plugged it back in, powered off and on, looked for the latest software version, switched it over to administrator control. I called Kodak, which gave me another number to call, which told me they no longer offer telephone support and to go to the website.
I tried everything I could find on the website, there was no description of this problem.
Finally in frustration I called the original number back, the operator connected me to another number and the technician fixed in a few minutes.

One thing I never thought to check.

I have no idea how it happened but the Kodak printer was no longer my default printer. That was the fix, check the little box to make it the default.
Who knew?

Just heard from my sweetie - MIL’s heart cath went fine, but his dad is now having problems from his surgery, so they’ve gone to a local dr (not back to Duke) in the hopes of getting it fixed. Return trip to Duke is May 15. I’m glad my husband is such a good son, but it does rather piss me off that his one brother can’t seem to be helpful. Not that it’s a huge surprise - that particular bro is more of a taker anyway…

Ah, family…

Wow.

Howdy from da cave! The second time the power flickered at the orifice was taken as a sign to leave, so I did. Grilled poke chops, succotash, wild rice and rolls for dindin tonight. Simple and easy, just the way I like my men.

Still stormyish out but not as bad. The temp crept back up to the mid 70s which makes me happier.

The temp here has been a pretty steady 50° - ugh. I’m wearing sweats but I’m still chilly. I’m thinking the last of the leftover soup will be supper. It beats cooking.

I promised **FCD **I’d bake him some ginger snaps. Maybe tomorrow, if I’ve got the energy. Altho he might not be coming home tomorrow, depending on what happens with his dad. So the cookies may wait. I think I’ll need flour, tho. I’m running low.

The trucks have been emptied. The furniture has been arranged. The complex has WiFi!!   Which is great because the cable guy won’t be here until Thursday afternoon. I will miss NCIS tonight, and channel surfing (a favorite pastime) tomorrow, but at least I can get into the 'net!.
The guys will be back tomorrow to unpack most of the stuff. I’ll have to bribe my friends with pizza to get the rest of it.

Dindin has been ingested. I made my simple and easy remark to OYKW. He said that explains how I was attracted to him then.

I think I’ll go watch TV and play with yarn till I’m ready to sleep. MWAH!

Methinks I shall betake myself to the bedroom to watch teevee until sleepy time. Storms are supposed to return by around nineish. Be nice to fall asleep to a big thunder boomer.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

I worked. I walked Gordie. I took a nap. Now I must play chef and make dinner.

Aww. He was a cutie, Drae.

Hi Nava!

Alien, I live downstairs from the Elephant Mosh Pit. Of course, they’re stuck between the barker upstairs and Gordie’s barking downstairs. So I don’t complain.
