The FairyChat Nudist Colony? Just wear an apropn when fryin’ bacon.
You couldn’t arrange it so you could? Also, unpacking is better than moving a carload at a time, over a month. While working 80hrs a week [Geezer]Uphill! Both ways! In the snow! Fighting off bears(N.O.S.) and Indians![/Geezer]
swampy, are you gobbling baby turkeys again? Try a Snickers, instead.
And it’s either thundering, or somebody is tossing pianos off the 3rd flooer
**FCD **just called - he’s in NC. I figure he’ll be home in about 6 hours. He’s supposed to call me when he hits VA and I’ll figure out at that point whether I should make supper or not. Supper could end up being grilled cheese.
Think of the possibilities for your next conf call - “Sorry, the batteries in the cordless extension need to charge again as I, ummm, accidentally didn’t charge it earlier; I’m so upset that I need to drop off now. :(”
Morning all, and a happy Wednesday. {{{{{{{{kai}}}}}}}}} Prayers and good thoughts for you.
Last night, we had turkey, cornbread stuffing, and mashed potatoes for dinner - it was turkey breast that I had gotten for Easter but we ended up having ham then. I made the Pioneer Woman’s creamy mashed potatoes, which have cream cheese in them and it ended up being some of the best mashed taters (N.O.T.!) I’ve ever had!! Let me tell you, the addition of the cream cheese really makes the dish. They are all gone, but I do have more taters in the house, so we’ll have some more again soon.
My retirement doesn’t hit my account until the actual 1st of the month! LOL I’m on empty right now, but tomorrow things will perk up. I’m making out a shopping list tonight.
I talked to my cousin yesterday morning - it sounds like they’ll probably release her today. Her heart is still in a-fib though; they are going to try to shock her out, but not for a few weeks, I think. She sure sounded a lot better and she told me that she was up at 5:30 am, cleaning the bathroom in her room! LOL I knew then that she was doing better. I asked her if she had been getting her coffee (she drinks it black … so you know she’s a caffeine addict!), and she told me that the nurse had brewed her a cup at 6 AM. Thanks again for all the good thoughts and prayers for her, mumpers!
Hope everyone has a good day! Those who are getting the rains, etc., stay dry and safe, please.
wiki please go see a doctor. Once the digestive system stops working correctly, it can be a very short time before you can’t do anything.
I hope he gets across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel soon. It looks like they expect the wind to pick up significantly in the next couple of hours, and the first thing they do is stop trucks from going across it. Unless he’s heading up I-95, then he should be fine.
As for the weather, bobbio you’ll be happy to know that Betsytown got visited by a couple of tornadoes in the last two days. One guy on the news they interviewed got hit twice.
You guys are a chatty bunch this week. I hope I’m all caught up now.
**Sean **- that would be a ridiculously long detour - he comes up 95 and gets off a bit north of Richmond and cuts across to pick up 301. He does have to cross the Harry Nice Bridge, and they occasionally have wind warnings - not sure if those affect minivans or not. But at the moment, it’s not bad here - the rain stopped and the sun actually peeked out. Higgs is terrorizing vehicles that go down the side road. I bet she’s worn a path along the fence. Goofy dog! But them little legs really move!!
I just made 4 anna half dozen of ginger snaps. The recipe said it made “about 40” but I tend to make my cookies a little smaller than recommended. And, for the record, they’re good! And they’re in tupperware, dishes are done, and the kitchen is mostly tidy. Kitchen trash has gone out, and I changed the recycling bag - it was pretty full. Go me!
I still need to run the vacuum and take some stuff to the basement. OOOOPS! And I just remembered I have a load of clothes in the dryer. Just t-shirts, so no biggie - they’ll fold just fine.
Waiting around for maintenance to take a look at my freezer (I suspect problem with door seal), while trying to motivate to do any housework. Not planning to go out today if I can help it, since temps are supposed to hit the 90s today. Isn’t it a bit early in the year for that nonsense?
Howdy from da cave. Irk is over for the day. YAY!!! I have lasagna all ready to go in the oven in a little while. I took it out of da freezer this mornin’ and put it in da fridge. It’s homemade even. A good thing to have on a damp, rainy, icky day. I’ll throw a sallit together and toast up some garlic bread. Another simple and easy dindin, just the way I like my dindin and my men.
doggio gobblegobblegobblegobblegobble!
Spidey if only I had the forethought to have done so. Unfortunately they’re all charged up now. Also I have Free Cell and Spider (HEE!) Solitaire to entertain me durin’ conference calls.
Rosie not only gigity but every single Mumper who does facebook needs to get over to that group and let his/her presence be known. I has speakded! So Mote It Be!
MOOOOOOM here’s hopin’ FCD is home soonest. Higgs will be so excitated!
Alas, the maybe-allergy thing I’ve had going on all week seems to have progressed into not-maybe-a-cold. So I’m leaving early to go to the doctor while I still have the full insurance. Two days left!
Where have the storms gone? I was promised huge frog-drowning thunder and rain storms! We had about four goodly cracks and rumbles of thunder and just enough rain to rinse most of the pollen off the car at some early morning time that we couldn’t see due to the cowardly dog on our heads. Gave the beast some Xanax and tried to get back to sleep at 4:45. Blerph?
This weekend, we’re buying ourselves a new travel trailer. Actually new and not some squeaky worn-out fifth-hand thing with a leaky water heater, dead battery and a lumpy bed that’s made by solving a jigsaw puzzle of couch cushions.
So I am home from the doctor, he is prescribing omeprazole in case it’s ulcers, but he said he is leaning heavily toward my gall bladder, an ultra sound has been ordered, yee and haw. I appreciate the hugs, ducks etc. as well as the admonishments to see the doc. Apparently if one loses a buttload of weight and then gains some back it makes the gall bladder angry.
The temperatures today and tomorrow will be in the 80’s, then a return to normal PNW weather by the weekend, I wish I felt well enough to tackle the front garden beds, but I do not. A nap is in my near future, everyone enjoy the middle of the week!
**FCD **got to Virginia half an hour ago. Depending on what the rain does, he should be home in less than 3 hours. I just finished running the vacuum and I’ve tidied my yarn mess. Time for some TV and shawling.
Thundering continues and there’s all kinds of flood warnings for the county. Lucky for me we live on a pretty high lot that slopes away from the house.
**kai **- most GB surgery doesn’t require staying overnight in the hospital, which is good. And my recovery was really quick - I was back to normal (well, as normal as I can be) in less than a week. Hope it’ll be quick and easy for you!
