The sure sign of Spring MMP

Swell - watch it drop a tree on our shed…

[del]pics[/del] samples or it not believable! (I can PM you my address.) :stuck_out_tongue:
Swampy, charged batteries do run down. The next time won’t be the first conf call I’ve had a phone die on me. Iffn you play enough solitare before the call, then your battery should be good & dead just a few minutes into the call.

Let this be a lesson to the rest of the Mumpers; don’t lose weight, it’s not good for you. Wait, what???

True to their word, they unpacked only what they had packed. I still have to go through last year’s boxes. But the place looks lots better.

It’s raining here too.

Got some important stuff done today. Now I’m practicing the E-flat clarinet. It’s hard on the lips.

Well, I’m home from lunch and that was an adventure.

I had two lunch offers today
one from my friend, I have got to give the lady a name but** FCM**, FCD, Capt and 2gig met her at the concert.
The other was from OAOASO who sent me a text yesterday saying he wanted to see me for lunch.

Anyway my friend said to go off with him because her basement is flooded and she can’t go anywhere anyway.

At 7am I asked OAOASO what time for lunch. No answer.
I asked again at 10:30, no answer.
Since lunch with him is usually later I figured I had time.
At 11:15 I get a text back that says 12:30.
That’s cool, Columbia is 20-30 minutes from here, that gives me a half hour to get ready.
Then he sends another text that says in Gaithersburg
Well that is just a little damned impossible being that Gaithersburg is over an hour away and I am on a call with a customer and I haven’t even brushed my teeth yet.
So I texted back to make it at 1, I get off the call, log myself out, go to get ready and can’t get in the bathroom because HFH is in there.
So I text back make it 1:30.
I get ready and am out the the door by 12:10, get OnStar set up for directions and I’m on my way. Only the road is closed for flooding the was OnStar sends me. I have to detour around, my friend is telling me I should stay home, it is raining so hard I can barely see.
I guess you have to be from around here though to understand this
I’m on 495, and suddenly the rain stops, the sun is shining and I look up and there is the Mormon Temple. I’m not religious and even if I was I doubt I would be a Mormon, but the Temple is a sight to see.
You have to see it to understand, it’s like a combination of Oz and Disneyland.
Anyway, it’s mundane and pointless but the timing was just perfect, cause once I got past it the rain started again.
All things considered I made good time getting there.
I got the shrimp nachos appetizer and ate half of it and brought the rest home. It was enough for two meals.
The ride home was awful, it took me almost an hour and a half. While I was in Gaithersburg I saw rescue vehicles with boats behind them go past me. That’s not something you see everyday. Even here on the bay.

The picture doesn’t do it justice, especially when the sun is shining on it, or it’s lit up at night

Dindin is et. ‘Twas good. I make good lasagna. Not rainin’ right now but windy out.

MOOOOOOOM hope everything’s ok.

Cool!

Surely if you batted your eyes at the fellows, and mentioned how strong they were to lift those horrid boxes…

I’m feeling very gloomy for no reason. Part of me thinks that while I’m feeling this way I should work on the gloomy story I wrote yesterday, but I don’t think I want to go down that road. It’ll just make things worse.

The storms are moving away. We only got the one big storm night before last. :frowning: Lot of wind, though.

I need to find a new job. I hate my current one and it’s taking too much out of me. :frowning:

Maintenance has been and gone, problem turned out to be that the freezer door was not hanging correctly. Now fixed, and I have all-purpose cleaner soaking into gunk in the fridge so I can get it clean before reloading.

I’ll keep this in mind for the next time I move.

it’s an insurance thing.
Sari Oh Em Gee! That is some structure!

Home finally after a long day. I am getting tired of all these long days. We are finally interviewing to fill the position I have open and the pickin’s are slim. One fellow even showed up in a mobility cart. Not to be discriminatory, there is a small gym in my bldg and I am tired of cleaning.

Saw my doc this morning to get my meds refilled. Just cholesterol stuff. Every one but me get rain, I want rain. It’s already hot in Paradise.

Glad you’re getting settled in Rosie! Have a good evening all.

Cool.

This is an couple of hours old shot of the road I take to irk in the moaning. The most recent one only has about the top 2" of the windows showing & the river isn’t expected to crest until 8am!

In other local news, there was a unique accident on the Ben Franklin Bridge today. The BFB is a major suspension bridge between Philly & NJ; it has 7 lanes of interstate vehicle traffic & outside of that there is a rail lane in each direction. The struck party got onto the rails in town & then somehow went into the vehicle lanes where it was struck by a car. Sadly, Bambi’s cousin did not survive. I didn’t know that deer could use EZ-Pass!

Worked, came home, watching hockey. Life is good.

glad the place is looking better, rosei.

Quite the adventure, sari.

**Sari **Montgomery County has two swift water rescue teams - Strike Team 10 and Strike Team 30. They had almost a dozen inland water rescues today in that county alone. Also all the surrounding counties had various rescues as well. In fact Anne Arundel was working a rescue of 3 cars near Ft. Meade on 198 up until a few minutes ago.

I came home to 2’ of water in the basement. Fortunately I know that the sump tends to hang up after it is dry for awhile, so I had to wade in and give the cord a tug and it began pumping out fine. Unfortunately the hot water heater pilot went out, and the washer and dryer got drenched. We’ll see how they fare over the next few days. I have a fan blowing air on them.

Indeed I have the scanner going as I am writing. It just stopped on Anne Arundel Police Easter District - an officer just reported “It’s about a dozen or so really loud frogs. I tried throwing rocks at them but they won’t shut up. Put me 10-8, no report.”

What a weird night.

I survived!! During the tornado warning, there was one big gawd-awful crack of thunder, then teh intrarwebz went dead! Which, of course, means we lost TV and phone, thanks to our bundle. I called **FCD **from my cell to tell him what was going on so he wouldn’t try to call home and worry. He got home without incident, and we spent part of the evening chatting before he put in a DVD of Saving Grace. Metrocast got everything back on line shortly after 9:30. We crashed shortly after 10:30, and my sweetie is still in bed. I, of course, had to get up and deal with the dog since she wouldn’t go back to sleep. <yawn>

We’ve got a slight chance of rain today, then things will start to dry out. **FCD **needs to pick up his glasses, and since we’ll pass WalMart on the way, I’ll go along and buy some kitteh kibbles. We’ll probably also start attacking the mess in the garage. I didn’t want to haul everything to the dump - there are some things **FCD **might want to keep, so we’ll sort and load. We can also take the stuff I’m donating down to the local thrift store.

Tomorrow, I’m hoping to return the van to my mom and take her car shopping. I need to call her later. Meanwhile, Happy Thursday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 67 Amurrkin out and cloudy. Today’s high shall be 68 accordin’ to the weather PTB. :dubious: Also a fifty percent of rain for the day. Butters you are more than welcome to divert the rain down your way. We’ve had quite enough.

MOOOOOOM glad y’all are safe and losin’ phone/cable/intartoobz (how awful!) was the worst thing.

Spidey yikes! There’s some localized floodin’ here but nuttin’ like that.

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Le sigh.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Today is a big day of high stakes testing at school. Last night I dreamed I was the one taking the test. :smack:

Blurf!

That is all.
