The sure sign of Spring MMP

Boo Hoo! Wah! Woe is Me! Due to localized floodin’ the only route available to the orifice is a thirty mile one way trip. I emailed TPTB and got told I could irk from da cave today if that’s what I decide to do. I’d rather not do a sixty mile round trip so I am forced, forced, I say!, to irk from da cave. Woe! Woe! Woe!

Yeah, y’all feel sorry for me right?

There was this big ball of brightness in the sky this morning. I heard tell it was called the sun, but since I haven’t seen one in recent memory, I call shenanagins! We were in tornado watch till about 7pm last night but nothing came of it. I hope we can dry out for a bit as next week, I got Jynxster Mom & Dad coming down so I can borrow their van to use a rototiller to make a garden plot.

I’m not even sure how to drive to irk today; the 30+ mile detour might work, but I don’t know the roads up that way to know if they are flooded out to even attempt. So I too shall be [del]doing laundry[/del] irking from home today.

I’m up, caffeinated, and not working today. I think I shall clean the kitchen.

Glad FCD made it hope, FCM. No Intertoobz?

Apparently, they cannot.

Spidey ain’t we pitiful!

I checked irk voicemail and had several messages from folks sayin’ they can’t get to their trainin’ sites due to localized floodin’. I’ve also had several emails sayin’ the same thing. Apparently buses are not runnin’ due to floodin’. Thus I have been returnin’ calls and emails sayin’ it’s no problem. Hours can be made up. Some of the trainin’ sites are closed due to the same problem. This should be a pretty quiet day. Fine by me!

I yanked some shredded Boston <snerk> butt <snerk> outta da freezer. It’s in the slow cooker with some bbq sauce. I shall make some coleslaw at some point today. BBQ sammiches and slaw sounds like a good idea to me. I might even make some fries.

Thus is life at da cave thus far.

Happy Thorsday!

Th sun is shining but it looks like it is still wet outside. I have my window open because it’s miserable hot in the house.

**Flytrap ** I had heard about the Surrender Dorothy thing but never saw it. I try to avoid 495 if I can. Don’t even get me started on the 270 confusion. OnStar is a wonderful thing when it works and it got me through there without a hitch.

2gig I’ll try to view the video later. Sometimes I have no trouble seeing them, other times they take forever to load. The only time I’ve seen rescue boats around here was one time when I needed to cross the Stoney Creek bridge and somebody on a jet ski collided with a boat.

Somehow wading through water to touch something that uses electricity to pump the water sounds dangerous to me. I had a client with a cranky sump pump but it would continue to run even after all the water was pumped. I’d unplug it rather than reach in there to pull the cord.

I’m glad FCD made it home okay and no tornado damage at the FairyChatEstates.

Doggio it doesn’t take me for me to have an adventure anymore. I don’t know what happened to me.

Whoa, that’s weird. My wife made her world-famous lasagne last night for dinner too. I had second helpings. It was very yummy.

Flytrap I’ve seen that Surrender Dorothy graffiti a few times over the years while passing through that part of the interstate. It always makes me giggle.

Hope everyone is doing well. Just another day at Technical Thingies for me - I can never get a day off (or even work from home) because of rain like some of you happy Mumpers. Somebody has got to be here at the office to argue with the idiots, and it seems to always be me.

The sun is trying very hard to shine, but the clouds are being meanies.

You mean you can see them through the stacks of empty boxes?

Yesterday’s idiot: “These glass mirrors are defective. I dropped one on the bathroom floor and it broke!”:dubious:
Brunch has be et. Bacon and egg sub. Gordie has decided to sing The Song of His People for most of the morning. Stoopid dog. Time to clean the kitchen!

Someone hand me that wet trout.

Howdy all and Happy Thorsday

I have so much to do and I have a bad case of the don wannas.

Back with stories later.

Cheers

Jim

The rain continues. Will it ever end! I swear I can see the grass growin’. I may need to rent a bush hog next week. Also the rain is makin’ me sleepy. Woe!

: hands rosie a 5lbs rainbow trout :

All I have is some Leftover Salmon.

Got a lot done today! Besides breakfast in Leonardtown, we took 4 boxes of stuff to the thrift store, got kitteh kibbles, got FCD’s glasses, sorted thru crap in the garage and took another load to the convenience center, including the last 2 CRT TVs in the house. I posted ads for a bunch of stuff and I’m about to make up a flyer for our dinghies.

The rain seems to be done for the day… I hope…

And I just wrecked my hip Swiffering the kitchen. WTF?

And you wanted to be my butler?? Forget waiting for those keys… :stuck_out_tongue:

Charming bedside manner. :stuck_out_tongue:
