The Thoroughly Hijackable MMP

Does FCD know? Because that’s al that really matters

Applied to about 20 jobs AND got my inbox cleaned out!

Here and the children are still alive, although my tonsil are all swollen and Mama is grumpy. In good news:

The ultrasound tech thinks it’s girls. Identical girls. She can’t be absolutely sure until the 19 week scan, but she’s been doing it for years and she’s pretty reliable.

Yay! We didn’t have any boys’ names picked out.

Tired, sick, felt pukey and couldn’t eat dinner and now I’m starving and exhausted. Going to make something very simple, eat, go to bed. Also, I look about five weeks more pregnant than I am and my balance is starting to be off. Maybe I can schedule a day of Mommy-lies-around-in-bed soon.

Whoa! Welcome newbies!

RedWood - Does Mama Zappa know about your show? I have it streaming right now even though I’m not an expert on Zappa music. Interesting.

Had to look up gotelé, Nava. The translation came out to textured surface; found this thread (in Spanish) on the WordReference boards that makes it sound like it’s one of those bumpy finishes (which makes sense if the root of the word has to do with drops). Huh.

Sad about the destruction, lieu. Especially sad if a whole species of toads was lost.

gotti, have you tried mousing with your other hand? I became a left-handed mouse user because I had problems first with my wrist and then with my elbow. It helped lots and lots.

Felt like a long work day, although I got quite a bit done.

Have offloaded some Halloween decorations to be upgraded by one of my fellow park volunteers. Yay!

Time to go for a bit of a walk, I think.

Hugs all.

GT

Now in video form!

Also, I have an announcement:

MY BOOKS ARE FINALLY SHELVED.

Really, they have cuban sandwiches in California? How do they taste?

Take this thread to Cuba and no one gets HURT!

Welcome to all the noobs! Yay for girls, LiLi! I hope your pukiness goes away soon. And boo for swollen tonsils!
My belly finally started feeling better this afternoon. And I got hongry!

I made boiled shrimp and salmon patties for dinner. Nom!

See y’all manana…

ARRRRRRRRRR me Mateys! Home from Men’s night. ‘Twas a good time. We had sallit, baked N.O.T., bizkits, everyone’s choice of meat (tonight I saw steak, poke chops, chikin and salmon) plus a dessert. A gingerbread apricot upside down cake for which I shall bug the bringer of until the recipe is given up. Also, one of the men brought along what he called “Brazillian Poke Stew.” It’s poke tenderloin, collard greens, what appeared to be kidney beans and wonderfully spiced. He said his wife made it in a slow cooker. I shall also bug the maker of this until the recipe is given up. I’m talkin’ teh nummy!!!111 I envision makin’ that along with cornbread.

Oh and the church has an upcomin’ mission trip to The Dominican Republic which is our companion Diocese. The vision is assistin’ a woman who has ten kids complete the construction of her house and addin’ five baños to existing houses. A baño can be added to a house for around a hundred bucks. In case somebody does not know baño = bathroom. So, anywho, fundraisin’ is underway. As a part of that, yours truly will be smokin’ Boston <snerk> butts <snerk> on October first and eighth. It may be remembered that I did this also last year. The goal is to smoke 36 Boston <snerk> butts <snerk> at thirty dollars each. I have named this fundraiser <snerk> Butts <snerk> for Baños. Clever huh! The <snerk> butts <snerk> and the <snerk> buttrub <snerk> have been donated as well as the propane for the smoker, and the aluminum foil needed. As for as the wood for smokin’, well, since the church is in the midst of a pee-can orchard, there is abundant pee-can wood. In addition, the time of yours truly is donated time. Well, duh, you do sit on the Vestry bear! It ain’t like you could, you know, charge for your time you pillar of the church you! Plus there’s other stuff like a wine and cheese party (Whiskypalians will pay big bucks to attend such things) and … are y’all ready for this… painted terlets which can be placed in one’s yahd and removed for the paltry donation of fifty bucks. Or, for fifty bucks, one can request that a terlet be placed in someone’s yahd. Or, for a paltry hunnert bucks, one can be placed on an amnesty list that ensures no terlet will appear. Or, if somebody is enamored of said terlet and wants to keep it, for a mere fifty bucks, one will be granted “the deed to the terlet.” Of course if one should get placed in a yahd and the homeowner does not want it, it shall be removed but we’re countin’ on perhaps not havin’ any grouches of that magnitued. Oh, and a sign shall accompany said terlet that says “You’ve Been Flushed!” We are an oh so clever bunch! Oh and the terlets have glow in the dark glitter on ‘em for an even more stunnin’ effect. They are a hoot!

Ok, that was rambly. On that note I shall now retire to beddybye.

Nitey Nite and ARRRRRRRRRRRRR Y’all!

ETA: OHMYGAWD!!!111 A Shibb sighting!!!111

I’ll second this. When I was doing lots and lots of data entry I switched mousing hands. If you don’t switch the buttons you can move the mouse back and forth as the hands get tired. It messes with your brain for a while - seriously it felt like I could feel my brain getting rewired.

Well, we made them here at home. We didn’t have authentic Cuban bread, but we found a soft roll that worked pretty well. The pork was home made.
I thought we did pretty good. Three of my co-workers had a taste today and all three gave us high marks.

It’s been too long since I had one from Ybor City, Florida, so I can’t be sure how it compares to the ones I grew up on.

Oh you poor thing. You must be miserable. I hope you can talk someone into a foot rub or something. Take Care.

Interesting thought, but it seems more like typing that’s irritating things, or at least, I can feel typing more than I feel mousing.

I’m already a left-handed mouser with unswitched buttons - that alone is enough to confuse people. I keep hearing “How can you do that?” Just comes from visiting users’ desks and not wanting to do anything more than move the mouse to the left side of the keyboard.

Maybe it’s time to think of alternate “mice” - on my Mac, I’ve got a Wacom Intuos tablet. Maybe I should try setting up my old tablet on my work PC. Certainly worth a shot, but still, typing is what I’m feeling the most, especially the far left keys.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN ‘Tis 72 degrees Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 86. I’m also told we’ll have rain possibly the rest of the week. We shall see. The weather map shows a buncha green stuff floatin’ over west of us.

Speakin’ of mouse usage, I’m a leftie. I use the mouse left handed at home and right handed at irk. I like bein’ able to switch back and forth like that. I hope the docs are able to figure it all out for ya gotti.

LiLi here’s hopin’ for a mommy lies-around-in-bed day soon. Yay for girls!

Ok, now I go to seek more caffiene and brekkie for rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

I’m pretty sure we’ll have to junk our loveseat recliner. Taz has peed on it so many times that even the fancy, expensive deodorizer can’t seem to keep up with the residual odor. I’ve saturated the cushions three times already but it still stinks. Damned cat - we’ve only had it about 5 years. And it’s a LaZBoy, so it’s not a cheap piece of furniture. At least it wasn’t cheap - now it’s pretty much worthless. I’ll give it one more try, but I fear it’s garbage. Stoopit cat.

Class today, then laundry and kitchen tidying. **FCD **will be later tonight. He’s been stirring up things at work, and there’s a meeting today. His biggest problem is that he’s honest. When someone asks his opinion or his ideas, he says what he thinks, not what he thinks the asker wants to hear. It got him fired from at least one job… from a company that no longer exists… maybe they should have listened to him??

Shibb!! How ya been? How’s the fambly? Don’t be a stranger!

Speaking of fambly, {{LiLi}} - hope you get some rest, altho with 2 kids and 2 more on the way, you’re not going to rest for at least 20 more years. Then the grandkids start. Guess you’d better just get used to it…

Guess that’s all for now. I need some nourishment - where’s that damned Breakfast Fairy? She’s so lazy…

Happy Tuesday!

Blurf.

I have 2 meetings today that will cover 6 of my 10 hours. Yee and haw.

I need more WTHU.

Had to work all day yesterday, missed the 1st preseason hockey game on TV.

{{{{LiLi}}}} hope the sickness goes away soon. Also, you could name the twins “Thing 1” and “Thing 2”

Hey Shib!

Welcome n00bs! Like swampy said, don’t forget the offerings. And remember, Lenny the squidgoat would “appreciate” making your aquantence.

I had that last year and am too a non-tennis player. Hard to do anything w/ my right arm it hurt so bad… and then the left started aching too. I mentioned it to a friend, started taking muli-vitamin and drinking more milk and all of a sudden I realized the pain had evaporated. I’ve kept up that regimen and it’s been pain free, not even a twinge, for at least a year now.

Lissla congrats, that’s really exciting.

GT, there should be some remaining population in a county or two to the north but this again has decimated the bulk of an endangered population.I am now and will continue to be stunned by the unpredicted yet disasterous effects that ripple out from an event. Nature is far more intertwined than immediately evident.

Thanks, all. I’m hoping the sickness gets better- I was puking at least once a week all through with the boys.

It’s morning, feeding kids, drinking lots of tea. Time for my easy day of lying around being coddled. Wait, no- laundry, kids, farmers’ market, library.

Morning. I’m at irk, but I still feel icky. Oh well, whatchoo gonna do?

Blurf.

gotti - when you type, where are your wrists? If you’re resting them on anything, that will aggravate the pinched nerve and/or swelling in your wrist.
