The Thoroughly Hijackable MMP

Today our entire Unix system is down, meaning no one can do any work today. So I’m stuck on the Dope… sigh

tough life

I can’t understand why anyone would want to switch the buttons. Everyone always talks about left button and right button, right clicking on things, etc.. I can’t imagine how much more confusing it would be to have to think “ok, so I want to right click, but I’m using my left hand so I actually want the left button.” I was a left mouse user for a couple years before I got my RollerMouse in June, but I never wanted to switch the buttons. And, as you said, it makes it easier if you have to use someone else’s computer or if someone needs to come and use yours and you just need to move the mouse to the other side for them.

Fingers crossed for girls, LiLi! And for less puking.

Yesterday was pretty sucky at work, but at least now I have minions who do the worst of the work for me. I just have to go badger other teams to stop causing problems for my team or to give us answers NOW that we should have had last Wednesday. Today has the potential to be even more sucky but so far it’s going well. ::Taps the knock-on-wood app on my iPhone::

Here’s hoping they’re girls and that pukiness stops, Li-Li.

I hope today is a better day for your, taxi.

I hope the rest of you with various ailments are feeling better today.

I have a baaaaaaaaaaaad case of the donwannas. Just so sick of coming here every day. I try to make the best of it, but I just get up with the sheer stupidity of some of the things we are forced to do.

Nothing to do yet, it’s gonna be a long day.

Switch keyboard layouts? Qwerty is very uneven about usage.

Roomie and I went to Waffle House, then went to hockey practice. Now it’s off to irk.

Back from class. I finished 2 pieces from last week and threw 2 more that will be joined on Thurs into a pitcher, I hope… I also borrowed a couple of books from the instructor about electric kilns. Not sure if they’ll have the answers I want, but we’ll see.

I won’t be going to Mom’s tomorrow after all - our fish are being delivered in the morning, so I need to be here. I thought the dumb things were coming today… grrrrrrrr So I’ll go see her on Firday instead.

**gotti **- I was having pains in my wrist from typing and mousing, and I got an elastic wrist brace, and it made a world of difference. Just a little support really helped.

It’s raining, so the laundry I’m washing will go in the dryer. Which is fine - it’s unders and socks - they’re a pain to hang on the line - lots and lots of little garments in a load. I just need to find something on TV to fold by. Altho the drear and rain makes me want to snoozzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…

I ran into a chicken with my car. :frowning:

It’s kind of a rural neighborhood around here, and lots of people have chickens. I was looking at a pretty rooster, and suddenly there was a chicken. I hit it a glancing blow, and it ran off somewhere.

I’m sorry, little chicken!

Well that does it, from now on it’ll be terrified of grills.

I wanna terlet.
Ugh, tennis elbow. Been there, done that (still doing that actually). I aam going to throw this POS keyboard at the nearest hard surface. Don’t take tennis elbow lightly and do what your doctor tells you to do. Trust me on this one.
Welp, it’s nearly 2pm and I’m still not a great aunt. My niece went in to be induced at 7am and my little Maddie-great-niece is still being stubborn.
Class tonight. I suppose I should do my homework before I go. Blah. My mom will be here any minute for our Tuesday visit. I’m so not feeling this today.

FACEBOOK UPDATE!! She’s at 80% so they broke her water. Maybe in another 12 hours or so I’ll have a great-niece!! Ugh. I must be getting old. I don’t even like babies. Why the heck am I so excited about this?

Sorry about the job situation, taters. Hope there’s another opportunity to move to a different team or something soon.

I’m sorry, rebo, but I kind of laughed. Yeah, I would feel awful about hitting any living critter. But somehow a chicken… well, it just sounds like the setup for a joke.

I like the terlet fundraiser, too, swampy. Someone in my parents’ area did something similar with plastic pink flamingos. A whole bunch of them so it was called flocking. You had to pay to get rid of the flock or to send it to someone else’s yard. Creative way to raise money and have fun at the same time.

After the weekend and yesterday’s work insanity, I have a bad case of the donwannas too. So I’m looking at knitting patterns and mid-weight jackets. I have a light, unlined fall jacket, and a heavy winter coat, but not something for those chilly evenings when you want a lined coat but not a winter coat. I had one until last spring but it ripped. So I’ve been not doing much work today. Oh well.

Did you hear about the Pirate Alphabet? Every letter sounds like Rrrrrrrrrr except for “P”. “P” sounds just like it does in “parrot”. But the parrot says Rrrrrrrrrrrrr

And the last thing on its mind was “Why did I ever cross this road”.

Did you get some chicken nuggets out of it, Reboot?

Congrats on the twin grills, Lili! At least you’ve got plenty of time to find pink charcoal.

I totally commiserate with you Tots. It almost sounds like you work for my company. One thing I’ve learned is that if it appears they used common sense, then it must be wrong.

I’ve got a bit of food synchronicity to share today. Last week I was esplainin’ to the girlfriend about Isaly’s chipped ham. She’s from Indiana and doesn’t know about these things. I told her I hadn’t seen it in ages and maybe they stopped making it.

When I was at the store Sattidy, I saw a little deli case out stocked with cheese, lunchmeat, etc. I’ve learned to look there because sometimes I can find just enough to get me through the week for a couple of bucks. Well lo & behold, this time I found some Isaly’s chipped ham and I’ve been livin’ high off the hog all week on Islay’s chipped ham sammiches. Today it was with swiss cheese and I had these nice bread and butter pickle slices on the side. Yummy!

We’re a day closer to the weekend, mumpers!

Bri2k

Laundry done, folded, and put away. Cat pee attacked with cleaner and steam machine - fingers crossed that it worked. Kitchen tidied. I’m gonna sit and knit. If we want to eat, we’ll go out for burgers later.

**Brick **- I had chipped ham sammiches for lunch almost every day in my brown bag school lunch. Except on Firday, when I got tuna. (Mom still followed the old Catholic food rules.) But I can’t remember the last time I had it - years, I’m sure.

I am a fed civil slave, Brik. I don’t think it’s too hard to draw any conclusions about the stupidity I must deal with on a daily basis.

Thanks for the commiseration, taxi and **Brik. ** I probably won’t be able to get out of this little slice of hell any time soon. It’s the end of the fiscal year, there isn’t any money, and there aren’t that many positions. They are cutting and cutting big because, as I’m sure you know, it all the the civil servants’ fault that the government collapsed. Us with our HUUUUUUUUGE wages and really, really, really, really, really, really, really generous benefits…NOT. Why no, I’m not in the least bit bitter.

Bah, only two more wake-ups and then I’ll have my weekend. I can survive. I always do.

Yeah, Taters, get your snout out of the public trough, dammit!! :stuck_out_tongue: Why should my tax dollars go to you for lighting your expensive cigars and jet-setting all over the world? We all know what you government drones are really doing, or not doing as the case may be…

Please don’t hurt me…

Bad Chinese made supper. It was particularly bad today. But at least I didn’t have to do dishes, so there’s that. I’m heading back to my knitting needles now.

:p:p:p:p:p:p, FCM! Pot:kettle…

I wanna go home damn it. An hour more to go.

Don’t be hatin’… :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s a good thing I’m not the sensitive type. My family is big on making “jokes” about incompetent civil servants. Altho it does kinda make me wonder what they think I was doing for 37 years. :dubious:
