The Unofficial Start of Summer MMP

Speakin’ of mowin’, tomorrow mornin’ I shall mow the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig ditch at church. It only gets mowed once a month cause it’s so biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig and it’s my turn. The property surrounding the church, i.e. the landscaped part and the property in front of the building are mowed every two weeks by the pros. The “back forty” as we call it and the ditch we take care of cause it saves some money and we’re cheap. Those parts get the monthly mowin’s. The ditch has to be push mowed and is a good hour’s work. That’s why Ima go in the mornin’ before it gets too humid. Not that it won’t be humid, just not as humid. Welcome to south Jawja in the summer!

I do believe the both of us will survive the ‘nanner puddin’ (uddin’! uddin’! uddin’!) and watermelon overload. Lesson learnt there!

So much for a good night’s sleep. I couldn’t fall asleep till almost 11. Then I woke up around 1, then again around 4, then the dog started barking at 5. Today will suck.

Plus it rained overnight, so the lawn is soaked and soggy, so I can’t mow. And once it dries out, it’ll be hot and muggy.

I am not a happy camper. I’m gonna go read the comics and see if they cheer me up.

meh

Bummer, FCM.

I’m going to head out in a moment since it turns out I won’t have lots of time today. I’d very much like to get some mowing done today, but it might not happen till tomorrow since I really need to get some plants in.

Back later with updates.

Morning. I am no longer a Rocky Horror Picture Show virgin. I also got to see a fight at the IHOP at 0230. Both of these occurred while I was sober. More tonight.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffienated and soon takin’ off to mow the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig ditch at church. Amazingly enough, it’s dry out!

doggio RHPS and IHOP at 2:30 am should never be experienced sober. Actually I did not know it was possible to be sober at 2:30 am in an IHOP!

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Today I’m taking Blaze into the vet because he hasn’t eaten hardly anything since Monday either. He still has diarrhea. He’s drinking water and peeing normally.

I should have taken him earlier. I feel so bad. I gave him a rib bone Monday, and he’s been sick ever since.

doggio, how is it possible that you’d never experienced RHPS? I haven’t been in years, but even I have seen it in a theater multiple times…

Sorry about Blaze, rebo.

It’s raining. Again. They purposely moved the Memorial Tournament to this week in the hopes of avoiding rain. The rain has moved with the tournament.

Just talked to brother and am in the process of starting to clean before going to help out with plant sale.

Later there’s babysitting so that Local Best Friend and hubby can go out to dinner for their anniversary.

Back later.

GT

gt you get the good friend award this week for babysittin’ so your friends can go out to dinner.

Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig ditch is mowed! I’m home and all cleanded up. Now, it’s pool time!

Sending good thoughts your way,** rebo.** I’m glad Blaze is still drinking, though. My Cappy wasn’t even doing that.

Just had another battle with the dog trying to get his pills down his throat. God, that dog has strong jaws. As soon as he saw my lift the pill bottles he high-tailed it to my bedroom. He didn’t run, but he was moving as quick as he could.

We had the very tiniest of victories last night. He actually lapped at some ice cream that was left over in my husband’s bowl.

On the one hand, I don’t know why I’m torturing my dog this way, I know what I have to do. I agreed to this only because my daughter was with me and the vet was insistent I was making this decision too soon. It’s torture for both of us. I don’t want his last days to be like this.

I have to finish my caffiene ingestion and then get my car tabs. They expired last month.:smack:

It took me more than 13 hours to travel from Houston back home yesterday. US Airways are a nightmare. Urgh

This weekend is a busy weekend of errands and chores. I have my third load of laundry washing, load two is in the dryer and load one is folded and put away. I am then off to get a pedicure, then grocery shopping, then Target shopping :D, then Office Supply shopping, then sort the utility room, then bathroom and tomorrow is garage cleaning day.

Tonight will be date night with mr ems. I have been gone all week and didn’t get back until after midnight last night and he is playing in a charity golf thing this morning. So I gotta get purty for dinner as well

Break time, sorta.

We had breakfast, then went to the boat. I dropped **FCD **off while I ran to WalMart for water for the aquarium change. By the time I got back to the marina, he’d installed the new gasket on the water pump and decided he didn’t want to hang around any more. It was hot and muggy and too breezy to raise the mainsail. And frankly, I didn’t feel like scrubbing the deck. So we came home.

I scooped the doggeh poop and **FCD **rode the mower around. Meanwhile, I lopped back some branches and small trees out front that made mowing along the ditch annoying. I loaded them all into the trailer and took them to the dump. Lucky for me I was going to the yard waste pile, else I’d have had to get in line behind 6 or 7 waiting vehicles. I’m just back from there. I’ve got a load of towels in the washer, and a basket full of stuff to be folded. Most of my new clothes came today - one outfit is on back order - so I’ll wash them. Guess I’ll be ironing tonight or tomorrow. rah.

It’s partly overcast and there are storms moving in from the west - mostly north of us, but a few little ones seem to be popping up on a line towards us. We shall see. Meanwhile, it feels good to sit in the a/c. The van’s compressor is cracked and we opted not to repair it several years back. At least the windows still open…

I need a nap. But I have to do laundry. Life is so unfair. :frowning:

Hugs and good thoughts to all the sick puppehs!

We just had a typical afternoon tstorm. It’s blown over so we may go back to the pool in a bit. I shall see if’n I want. I may decide I’ve had enough. Everybody else can go back, no problem for me. We have two friends over. They brought over a pork tenderloin and fixin’s for a salad. Sounds like a nummy dindin to me! We shall grill the tenderloin. Or, they shall. I am not le chef de cuisine today. Nope. Ain’t gonna. Y’all proud of me?

{{{Taters}}} I know there might be a glimmer of hope still but good on you for sayin’ you won’t prolong if you don’t see improvement. Rebo good thoughts and prayers headed out re Blaze.

Have fun on date night mmmmmm’s!

Ok, I think it’s beerverage time, errr… umm… again.

Blaze has had many ongoing issues. He could barely walk because of arthritis and a spinal issue, he’s incontinent, and now diarrhea, vomiting and not eating. He was tired, and did not have good quality of life.

We put our good boy down today. Mr Rebo and I were there with him, petting him, as he closed his eyes and went to sleep.

It’s so sad. He lived a long happy life of 14 years. My Dad said goodbye before we left for the vet. I called my son and told him.

We got Blaze when ReboSon was 12 - a perfect age for a playful puppy! We got him as an early birthday present for me. What a cute puppy! He was a tiny thing. I’m going to have to dig up some pictures and scan them in.

{{{Rebo}}} Sounds like Blaze had a great life with you, beginning to end.

{{{Rebo}}}. I’m so sorry. :frowning:

Well, I went to WalMart for an oil change and not only did they NOT change the oil*, they broke the exhaust. Yes, I realize that it could have coincidentally broken while they had it, but it seems suspect to me. Especially since I just started driving this van about a week ago and had made to trips to TVLand and back and had just had somebody under the vehicle replacing all the brake lines who managed not to break it himself. As I was typing this a manager from the store called me to say that he had reviewed the footage from the repair and doesn’t see where they did anything wrong. He said he’d turn it over to their claims management department but my expectations are very low.

*Apparently the oil pan is damaged. Don’t remember that from before either.

So, right now I’m just sitting here being generally aggravated and wishing I had some ice cream.

Shoves some Mint Chocolate Chip into the cup holder thingie…

Bambi’s buds were out for retribution last night, but didn’t get any from us.

Story to come…

Of all the times to pop into the thread.
