It’s pouring buckets here. Thank god–it may ruin everyone’s BBQ plans, but it’s made it about 20 degrees cooler outside.
Usually Mya is really grumpy, but she was really mellow about it. I think part of it is she’s getting older, and a lot of it is I’m not harassing her like I did when I was younger and she’s realized that. The other day she voluntarily sat in my lap and purred. :eek: I’m sure it was mostly because Mom isn’t home.

Actually, Taters I’d say dog puke and the maul rate about the same. 
A very nice dark blue suit has been procured. Well, will be Thursday when the alterations are done. Jacque Penne’ had some suits on sale for $99.00. They looked like $99.00 suits as well so those were nixed. OYKW will now have a very nice suit for occasions such as weddin’s. His black suit (which he could have worn, I know, but it’s best to have a couple suits) still fits fine. So he can funeralize should the need arise.
Summer?!? It’s still winter here in the great PNW.
I’m expecting to hear about the glacier coming down I-5 any day now. Screw global warming, It’s a new ice age.

We’re taking the dog to the vet tomorrow. The vet is closed today, and well, emergency vets around here charge outlandish prices. He’s definitely not himself, but as long as I can get him to eat or drink a bit here and there, he should be good until tomorrow.
I’m worried about my poor ol’ boy.

Um, yeah, so why didn’t anybody tell me that today is Monday and therefore there would be a new MMP? I’ve been hitting the refresh button on my phone all morning and I couldn’t figure out why no one was posting. DUH.

I got all ambitious. I vacuumed and washed the van and my car. I swear, the van is now 20# lighter for all the crap I vac’d out or threw away. My soon-to-be-ex-SIL was a bit of a slob. (A bit??) He drove my van for 2 years and never once cleaned it out. I will grant it’s old and stained and pretty ratty, but there’s no reason for all the leaves and napkins and bits of food inside as well as the general road crud outside. Criminy, if someone had given me free use of a vehicle for that long, I’d be washing and waxing it at the very least!
Doing my car was a good thing, too. I found my lost mug. It had rolled under the passenger seat in a position that was not easily visible. When I hit it with the vac wand, there it was! I was afraid it was gone for good, so yay for found mug!!
I was going to fire up the grill and make burgers, but the carwashing took longer than I’d expected and I’m just too tired. Plus **FCD **doesn’t want to eat anyway. He’s worried about our daughter. She’s been hanging around with a guy who SIL knew from his work. This guy is nice enough, but, like her last 3 stellar :rolleyes: boyfriends/spouse, he’s got no educational ambitions, a fairly menial job (at a gym), no career goals, no car, meaning daughter always drives, and I’m betting he’s never offered to buy gas… I foresee a conversation in the near future - like tomorrow?
Her preggo friend is still preggo - maybe she will make it to June 13.

We have electricity again. Yay! It left around 9:30 and came back around 5. The original estimate was 3:00, but it seems they underestimated how many trees were near the wires.
Did a bunch of weeding and pruning (it was too wet to plant much; I did pot up a couple of items, though) and got all sweaty. Electricity came back just in time for me to come in and do some preliminary washing up. Am going for a walk, then it’s home to shower, do laundry and vacuum.

Turns out we were hungry after all. The burgers went into the toaster oven broiler, and they were tasty. There’s a lemon meringue pie in the fridge for whenever. And some chocolate Moose Crap Ice Cream, thanks to the last MMP.
**FCD **will be “blowing shit up” this week. He heads to western Virginia (near Charlottesville) to a quarry where they do explosive testing. They float the equipment to be tested on a barge, then an explosive charge is dropped to a predetermined depth, and set off. After their ears stop ringing, they bring the barge back to the edge of the quarry and see how the equipment fared. Then they do it again. Or fix things and do it again. Anyway, he’ll be gone at least one night, maybe 2, depending upon how the tests go.
So I’ll be without my sweetie for a night or two. However will I survive?? <deep, dramatic sigh>

gt you’d be proud of me. I got a burst of energy and went out and pulled weeds for two hours. This is stuff around the fence. Next week, after the promised rains of this week are long gone I shall Roundup[sup]TM[/sup] the heck out of stuff around the fence. I was gonna trim some dead stuff out of a couple of the sago palms but, hey, gotta save some fun for another day, right?

I forgot my other news. I was brought fresh picked cabbage and squash today from a good friend! He’s a farmer. I told him if he was feelin’ generous again, let me know. I’ll even go pick it. I’m not above fresh veggie pickin’. MMMMMMM… garden fresh veggies! YUM!
