Cute! I have no idea who Velma Kelley is, but I like it anyway!
Velma Kelly because I fight ignorance.
taxi that spanikopita sounds like sump’n I might try. I’ve finally gotten OYKW to quit ickin’ spinach.
Feel better MOOOOOOM!
Skettie sauce is done! Ima go make meatballs now. MMMMMM… sketties and meatballs! <snerk> Meatballs! <snerk>
Dang, I actually napped! I never nap! I will definitely go to bed early tonight, with melatonin, I think. I just need some real sleep.
Chickie for supper, not sure what sides, but I’ll figure something out. Maybe rice. And a salad? I don’t know. Something will end up on the table.
I just checked the weather radar - looks like some nasty T-boomers headed our way…
Supper was quick and OK. Nasty T-boomers are here. I’m definitely going to bed early tonight - did I say that already??
Ain’t no sleep like sleep durin’ a big tstorm! I lurves me some tstorm sleep!
Dindin was teh num! OYKW is even happy there’ll be leftover sketties for tomorrow.
I made the ‘nanner puddin’ for Sunday brunch cause I like it better when it sets for a couple of days. Plus, there’s a small one to eat on at home. OYKW does not know this fact cause I hid it in one of the crisper drawers in the laundry room beerator. He’ll be all :D:D:cool: when I pull it out tomorrow. I’m a sneaky lil’ ol’ devil!
More good wishes for Cap’n. (I think I forgot that yesterday.)
Cute picture, rosie.
The Midwest Haunters are going to be in town starting tomorrow. Thought of you when I saw that, ruble.
Very tired, but home and hoping the weather won’t be awful. Am contemplating going for a walk, then seeing if the weather is OK enough to get some more gardening done.
Should find something additional to eat first.
Back later…
GT
Snazzy, Rosie. You should be doing Jazz hands though.
I got released from Hell’s Waiting Room, I mean jury duty shortly after noon. Never even got interviewed for a jury. With my $15 jury payment burning a hole in my pocket I met the boyfriend (it’s his only day off this week) and we had lunch and a movie. Now I’m home and wiped out.
I was all excited tonight because I was finally going to submit my thesis (I can do it electronically now. Have to, in fact.) Then I noticed they still require a signature page. I now must wait until tomorrow afternoon to find out if I have to scan in my copy. I’m guessing the answer is yes, but I want to make sure from TPTB that this is so.
One more day of twiddling my thumbs. Vile Profanity.
In other sucky news, the Front Desk Monkeys have a meeting tomorrow in which we will most likely all be chewed out for our part in contributing to our score of “unsatisfactory” on the most recent corporate inspection. Apparently there was a standards change that slipped past everyone and we’re all being cussed out for it.
In good news, I found out they’re hiring English teachers at the local community college. As soon as I get my thesis taken care of, I’ll be submitting an application so fast there will be a trail of fire from my room to the college. And it’s for a class that Army Boy (who is now attending that college to get his Culinary degree) doesn’t need to take so that minimizes conflict of interest (I hope).
Fun story: This is what my Older Sister said when she met Army Boy last Sunday and found out what his major was: “Finally, somebody in this family who can cook!” We are not lying, kidding, or exaggerating when we tell people our mother timed dinner by the smoke detector.
I found out tonight my Maytag dishmasher is subject to a recall; something about a wiring defect in the drying element circuit causing a fahr. The repairman is scheduled for Tuesday to take care of it free of charge.
I want to spend two weeks on a tropical beach, drunk. Is that so much to ask?
Heard from the vet today. It’s not good. Probably pancreatitis, there’s liver and kidney issues, a possibility of Addison’s Disease, there may be a tumor as well.
I asked her about quality of life for the dog, and she said that pancreatitis can be managed with pain meds. What the hell kind of life is that for a dog? Also, with the other problems present, what kind of time are we talking about?
It’ll be clearer after I speak to her tomorrow, but I’m pretty sure I have to put him down. Sigh…I’m crying again.
Frankly, I just don’t have thousands of dollars for what is probably a meaningless effort. In the end, I have to do what’s best for Cap’n. I can’t let him suffer just because I want him here.
I’m so sad. My son is angry and sad. He won’t even talk to me or let me offer comfort. That breaks my heart too.
God, what a horrible day…
{{{Taters}}}
[[ Taters}} I hate what you’re going through, you have all my best positive energy headed your way.
That just sucks, Taters.
:: hugs for Taters :: I’m so sorry to hear that. That really sucks about pets, doesn’t it? You love them so much but someday you have to let them go.
Separate post for other stuff:
Nice hairdo, rosie! Very cute!
Boyfriend brought up the “M” word yesterday - we’ve been discussing future plans, which basically would be us moving somewhere that is not Korea. Probably the UK. Moving away would involve the question of marriage for a bunch of reasons - partly to do with visa issues, but also just the level of commitment that would be involved. He seemed worried that I was “settling” or otherwise giving up other opportunities by staying with him for the forseeable (and unforseeable) future. I would follow him to the ends of the earth if he wanted me to. I hope he believed me. Otherwise he’s going to get a good smack on the head.
you’ll have to have the wedding in the States, I can’t afford a trans-ocean flight
No worries. I can’t afford a wedding anyway.
Although in Korea you don’t even need a ceremony to get married. All you need to do is to fill out a bunch of forms.
I refuse to say if I looked at it there or on Facebook.
I also refuse to tell you my maternal grandfathers name.
Don’t ask.
