The Vernal Equinox crosses this MMP

I’ve been to Tassie. Hope you won’t be offended, Batboy, but I reckon it’s my favourite bit of 'Straya. I think partly because the distances involved there make more sense to English me.

Metalmouse, if the forecast is now to be believed, there’s little chance of even glimpsing the legendary shiny sky thing this week. I’m working outside at a show all day tomorrow anyway… Oh well, fusing to the computer it is.

Ages ago, in the carefree days of my youth, I went there for a flyfishing contest/event but didn’t have a chance to play touron; much to my regret. I loved what I got to see and always wanted to make a return visit.

Now to start getting my brain into work mode -------- in other words totally turned off and shut down. We were supposed to get rid of our section of Maryland but --------- TPTB decided we’re probably going to keep it a little longer. OK; longer hours and bigger checks for me and an acceptable level of frustration with critical pull times. But I was looking forward to being done with all that.

You Devil!
Juliet, now is the time to think about joining a gym, at least for the free week trail period. They’ll have a locker room with a shower that you can use until you can get yours fixed.

Spidey, our is temporarily fixed, but that fix won’t hold long-term. So we’re going to be very gentle with it and shower at the YMCA when we can. Like tonight after swim class. We’re all hopping into the showers.

But I’m not going to drag the kids to the Y for showers for the next two weeks; I may rig up a way to fill the tub from the sink, or we can just be careful and hope the temporary fix doesn’t break.

You should be able to remove the screen from the sink faucet and attach a hose to run to the tub. Just check what thread its tapped for before you buy the hose.

(long story short an uncle kept sections of hose in the base of all his sinks for fighting fires that never happened)

You know my folks were always afraid of fires. We always had to make sure not to leave stuff lying around in the path out like toys…I still do it to this day. Sad thing is they did have a fire later on and lost everything they owned even their dog. That was a real sad day but could have been worse.

Finally got RoxStar down for her afternoon nap. Time to knit a bit. I can’t wait for nice weather when I can take her outside.

The Amish crew will be here tomorrow to start the building - YAY!!!

I don’t know how many trees worth of facial tissues I’ve gone through in the last couple days but It’s more than I care to imagine. Stupid spring(?) colds!

*I put a question mark after spring because we still have plenty of snow on the ground and the temps are below normal for spring.

That could work. I often put fresh mint in my tea and have never found a mousie in the glass (nor in my Julep, for that matter).

Ooh, ooh! I’m going to get farm work done after my day job, I’m gonna play golf, I’m gonna go fishing, I’m gonna play softball - wait, how many extra hours do we get???

boofae, I’ll be in Denver the end of June and Colorado Springs the first few days of July.

Juliet, sounds like a pretty big job–I’d say have fun but after doing the remodeling thing last year, I know what it costs and that’s not funny.

Kid, hope you run out of snot before you run out of Kleenex.

Got to go get dressed for soccer. Got teams lined out (provisionally) for the 6 year oldsand will do the 10U tomorrow. Only got to the mid-50’s (they promised mid-60’s), but we’ll manage.

Good Og! Now I’ve got that stuck in my head!
Along with the tinnitis.
:frowning:

I was terribly disappointed when I finally saw a pic of an actual Tasmanian devil and they didn’t whirl around like they did in the cartoons. I’d still love to visit there however.

We’ve got lots of mint in our side yard and we get mice anyway. Of course YMMV
Took Wifey and two of her cow-irkers to the airport this morning. They’re going to Vegas for a conference. If it weren’t for the pups I prolly would’ve gone too. I don’t gamble. but I enjoy looking at the buildings. I think I maybe shoulda been an architect.

Anyway, for the next three days I get to cook stuff that isn’t on her diet. :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Moanday y’all!

sari, even if the mint doesn’t work for the mousies, you will still have some for tea, juleps and cooking.

Juliet, the expensive part of a bathroom (unless you’re putting in a jacuzzi) is usually the de/construction part. The plumbing is pretty straightforward.

I was given the choice of any kind of vehicle on the rental lot. I had planned on getting an intermediate sized sedan like what I drive, but they had a Frontier and I took that. I now remember one of the reasons that I didn’t buy one the last time I bought a truck. It seriously lacks zip. Oh, well, it will likely only be a week.

The shop told me that the tie rod on my car wasn’t messed up, but the doo hickey that connects it to the steering column snapped. That’s actually an easier fix.

Mujitos!

Worked an overnight shift, came home, napped, went back for a conference call.:dubious: Made rainbow trout with herbed orzo and spinach with olives and tomatoes.

Hops:smiley:

And bottles of lotion?:dubious:

Howdy Y’all! Been a bzzy day for da bear. Got the house spiffed up, did steak night (‘twas good as usual with a good crowd on hand), and took care of a couple of errands. I shall meet with the plumber tomorrow. He called and said he could late this afternoon or early tomorrow afternoon and would call me and give me a heads up so I can meet him. I chose tomorrow afternoon and I didn’t want to deal with plumbin’ and gettin’ steak night set up at the same time. Tomorrow is usually laundry day but I think I shall do yahd irk at da cave in the mornin’ as I am close to bein’ the worst yahd in the 'hood. Can’t have that! Second worst if fine but worst, why, never!

I read all but have retained little. Thus, yays, boos, hugs, noogies, trouts, chitlins, smooches, and how you doin’s all around as needed.

What would one use that for???

Hello all. 16 Girls showed up for soccer, so me and two coaches worked with them for an hour or so, they did pretty good. Let H.R.H. the Burger King do the cooking and paid my credit card bills (mail them tomorrow).

Chilling waiting for the Southwest Chief to show up (I watch the Virtual Railfan channel on YouTube, and every night the Southwest Chief (Chicago-Los Angeles AMTRAK passenger train) stops in LaPlata Missouri, and they have a camera there. Of course, this being AMTRAK, it’s never on time (33 minutes late tonight), but retired folks have their little quirks, you know.

All y’all have a good night now.

I am on the shitlist of the HR director and my boss but I don’t have to like being treated badly. That is why I threw you both under the bus. I am too old and set in my ways to take anymore crap from anyone. Plus the bus driver is the new Director and he was actually very nice about the entire thing. Who knows maybe they will fire me. Me, who has never even been orally admonished or written up. Yea, don’t think so.

Get off’n my lawn you bunch of non caring assholes.

I got pulled over on my way to work. Left tail light is out… dammit. I just replaced the right one, and I should have done both. Dammit. So now I’ll have to replace it, then find a cop to sign it off. Dammit.

So how’s your morning?

Plus the guy who’s using my desk when I’m not here keeps changing the monitor settings, so my desktop icons are moving all over the place. I’ll have to leave him a note. Seems to me it’s common courtesy not to screw with someone else’s setting when using their computer.

Happy Tuesday, anyway. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 46 Amurrkin out and clear (well, dark) with a predicted high of 66 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today I shall do yahd irk at da cave. I plan to at least get the front yahd spiffed up. Also on tap is the delivery of meds via FedEx, hopefully this mornin’, meetin’ with the plumber this afternoon, at least some of the laundry, and sup which shall be beast stew (took it outta da freezer to thaw), and corn bread. At least sup will be easy to make. I figure that’s enough to keep me out of trouble for the day. I need to begin readin’ up on some CDI stuff as well.

{{{Butters}}} hope things go better at irk today.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!
