Things That Go Bzzzzz In The Night: A Ghostly MMP

Such cute kids!

I’m uploading a couple of minor edits to my book on Amazon. I just submitted it for a Lambda Literary Award, because why not? While in mid-upload, I got an email accepting my propoal to present at a book-related avocational conference next year, so that’s cool.

Happy Saturrday!

It was nice at the park this morning. We had a good quiet group.
It was in the mid 60s, and rained a little.

Cerby is, I guess kind of smart.
Yesterday Nelson came to the park for the first time in a long time. Cerby barked at Nelson dad all the way in.
Today he did that to Jax dad, who hasn’t been there in three weeks.
He knows who is new, which kind of surprises me, although maybe it shouldn’t.
He is very protective, and suspicious of men.
He is warming up to people, approaching them for attention.

Today has been a mostly wasted day. I fell asleep in my chair, which is a horrible way to sleep.
My son’s laptop is screwed up. I need to leave soon to pick up his new one.
It worked fine until the latest windows update, and we can’t figure it out. He’ll get this new one, then we can send the other one out to be repaired, or maybe I can play with it for a bit.
Like I don’t have anything else to do.

Cute little haircuts on the kiddies.

I know you’re right Taters, Barky mom is a bit too much.

Scary to be locked in Red.
When I irked for the state, the new building had card locks on all the doors.
If you went in a door behind somebody else without using your card, you couldn’t get back out because according to the system, you weren’t in there. It was basically a way for management to track us.
Got management in trouble. It’s legal to lock you out of a room, it’s not legal to lock you in a room. The fire department was not happy and made management change the system.

Glad all is well Nellie

We haven’t seen Adam all day. We leave food out for him.
He’s not happy about Cerby being here, but we’re working on it.

I guess I’d better get ready to leave.
The store closes at 9, I just don’t want to go back out.

Up from nap, and watching college handegg.

Yep.
:notes:We’ve to to move these refrigerators
We’ve got to move these jars of BBs… :notes:

They are adorable

Congrats!
.

Huzzah! i have internet again! It’s been out all day. We had a helluva storm last night: high winds and lots of rain. It knocked out the 'net. I walked to the store, the farthest I’ve walked in a week. It was an adventure. There were tree branches down all over the place, and the stoplight at the biggest intersection wasn’t working: it flashed red. I know from experience that it’s not safe to try to cross when that happens, so I had to take a longer route.

I needed D batteries, but the store has stoppers so you can’t get batteries without help. I had to go to customer service. The line was long due to the Powerball $billion. By the time it was my turn, I’d been thoroughly corrupted, so I bought a Powerball ticket. I have zero illusions of winning anything, but I’ve never bought a lottery ticket before, and I wanted to feel wicked. I also got the D batteries, but the woman had to go get them, so it took awhile, and those in line glared daggers at me.

Moi, aussi. I even told people washing dishes was therapeutic. Then I moved into an apartment with a dishwasher, and I’m never going back.

FCM, as their grandma , you’re naturally biased about how cute e your grandkids are. As an objective observer, I can tell you they’re frickin’ adorable. How you keep from spoiling them rotten, I’ll never know.

Oh! That reminds me! The surgeon is the second MD to tell me what arnica is fantastic at eliminating bruising. You can get it in pineapple (which is why I went to the store) or buy arnica tabs. So if you get bruised and battered, try it. I’ll let you know how it works for me.

But what if Bill has two mothers? Do you say, “Bill’s mother-apostrophe-S”?

red, so when maintenance fixed it, did you get the pennies?

susan, congrats!

See, this is what I love about you Whiskeypalians: you think about comfort, whereas Catholics are all about suffering.

Evening all. Last soccer game refereed (another 3-2 thriller). The lights didn’t come on until 6pm, about the time I was wondering if I could tell the difference between deep maroon and blue uniforms in the remaining light. But they are new ones, just snapped on immediately instead of taking minutes to warm up, so all went well. 9:00am AND 10:15am games tomorrow and then I’m done for the fall soccer season (but Indoors starts in December). Might actually get some things done around the house…

nellie, glad your internet is back. And surprised about the battery restrictions, I can go to Kroger or Wal-Mart and pick them right up. Good luck on the powerball.

OK, tired and need to be up early for the games tomorrow, so all y’all take care and I’ll catch you (sometime) on Sunday.

So did I. If I win I will be taking applications for sycophants. And also starting the “dogbutler shows up drunk on random Mumper lawns” nationwide tour. :champagne:

Bring Gordie, and I’ll see to it you never have to face the harsh reality called “sobering up.”

susan Congrats. Linky to the book? Or is that not allowed?

FCM A couple years ago, hard to say, since the pandemic has thrown all measure of time out the window, the dishwasher at the place we’ve had friendsgiving for 15-ish years conked out the wednesday before T-day. Had to do a replacement on that. A couple years before that we had to do some quick repair on the garbage disposal.

nellie Welcome back to tha intertubes!

sahi I’m getting to like Cerby. I approve of being wary of unknown new people.

If you PM me, I’ll send you the link

awww that’s sooo cute …my step-granddad started taking us to the movies because 1. my grandma had migraines and the theatre would set one off .and grandpa was more socially aware . and 2 after the rainbow brite movie incident …

This is great to read. Sounds like Cerby is fitting in, even if it’s taking a while.

And earworm. Hubby’s been humming Tunnel of Love for the last few weeks. so we’re really in Dire Straits.

All mumper grandkids are adorable. Nice we get to see some pictures.

I hope it works for you. I found hard the hard way that it’s one of my triggers for contact dermatitis.

red, I’m glad you were able to get your lock fixed within a day, but what a bummer, to lose a free day to waiting around for a locksmith.

Not international? pouts

Congrats to susan, that’s fantastic news.

Today is finishing all the things which didn’t get done yesterday, because I kept finding other things to do. So there’s overall progress in the sorting and discarding of spare papers, electronic devices (which no longer go Bzzzzz), but some of that was not on The List. So it’s back to The List. And maybe there’ll be a new The List.

But first, lunch (oven “fried” chicken) and then a walk. Hoping it’ll reach 9 C / 48 F, but the cloud cover’s winning.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 71 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 84 and mostly cloudy for the day. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization followed by first Sunday brunch. It’s All Saints Sunday which is a major feast day. Plus also there is a Baptism of a sweet two year old girl. I like Baptisms. When all that is done it will be back to da cave for nappage and high sloth. Any other need to feed will be via forage.

Susan conga rats on the presentation!

red glad the lock got fixed. I wouild have demanded the pennies.

Nellie and VanGo are y’all filthy rich this mornin’? Also, glad you got the intartoobz back Nellie

Should doggio show up on anyone’s lawn, just hose him down and hand him a six pack. He’ll be fine.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

It appears none of us hit Powerball - the new estimate is $1.9 BILLION! Holy crap on a very expensive cracker! Makes me wonder how many people are taking second mortgages to buy tickets…

I think I over-caffeinated yesterday because I had a terrible time falling asleep. Then I woke early - don’t think I got 5 hours of sleep. I’ll get to resetting clocks in a bit, like maybe when it’s light out. I do know Higgs won’t be happy that her supper is an hour later than usual - she has a very precise belly clock.

We left some windows open overnight and we will again tonight. The cold front comes thru tomorrow and will put an end to all that, but for now, we’ll enjoy the weird warmth. Which reminds me - I should clean the pellet stove while it’s cold and unused. Add to the list…

I think I’ll do a trash/recycle run today before attacking the leaves. Then we’ll see what the day brings. And we’re just about done with the gawd-awful political ads - huzzah!

Happy Sunday!

Morning all. Last two soccer games this morning and since I did set my clocks back I won’t be late for them. Then dinner at Golden Corral and might make a short trip up to Tennessee and spend some money on Powerball just because (expect a large migration out of Ali-bama to neighboring states because we don’t allow gambling down here, y’all).

Is that anything like the noodle incident? https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/candh/images/e/e6/The_Noodle_Incident.png/revision/latest?cb=20120813011950

OK, need to sort out my stuff and be about the morning. All y’all take care.

They are both gorgeous!

Linky no worky. :frowning:

If you were referring to the Calvin & Hobbes one, that was explained in Freefall.

nellie, I didn’t think to ask the maintenance guy for the pennies. :stuck_out_tongue:

doggio, bring Gordie and I’ll have a six pack waiting for you.

Congrats on the book susan!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP and Sunday chores. It’s a drizzly autumn day outside, so no dog park here. The red beans are on for red beans and rice this evening. Some sloth is planned.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Good morning to all.

It’s supposed to be a nice day, with the high getting up to 67*F. That’ll be nice. I love the cooler weather. But, there is no rain expected through next week, and into the week after that!

It must be shotgun season, for deer.
{It is NOT firearm season until the 12th, in Indiana. I just checked. Good grief.}
Or else, someone was shooting for shits & giggles. I can’t hear it, since I’m mostly deaf, but Shayna did NOT want to go outside, this morning. She tried to stay in my bedroom. Then, when I sort of coaxed her out of there, she decided to stay in the hallway. I finally had to nicely, sort of drag her/while begging her, to go out to potty. Wow. She eventually went out, but, she was VERY afraid, with all the whale eyes, panting, shaking, and flipping out. My Gawd. I stood there, while she was out, making sure she didn’t try to chew through the fence, again, or hurt herself some other way. Poe has no issues with storms/gunfire/etc. Shayna loses what’s left of her little, doggie mind. It’s a circus, here.

My daughter, and myself, will be heading out to breakfast, in a bit. With our Heathen Breakfast Club. It’s always a nice time. Good to get out, and blow the stink off, I guess. I dislike going out amongst the public, usually. But, if I’ve got a specific reason to do so, I’ll be ok with it.

I put on my new Dexcom G6 sensor. I did it properly. I know I did, because I’ve been doing it for a long time! But, it had me enter the information, again. It said that I didn’t do it. Bullshit. I DID do it. So, I entered it, again. I hope it works, this time. Those damned things are too expensive to be screwing up! I guess we’ll see in two hours, if it worked this time, or not. Maybe sooner, if it tells me I didn’t enter the information, again. Then, I’ll start the cussin’, and hatin’! Should make for an interesting, nerve-y morning.

I should get off here, finish my coffee, and get ready to go to brekkie.

Have a good day, everyone!

Good morning one and all.

It’s currently 39 degrees with an expected high of 47. It was pouring rain when I came down at 5:00 this morning and will rain most of the day. We might see some wet, slushy lowland snow overnight and in the early morning hours, but it won’t stick around. It’ll dry out Tuesday and Wednesday and then I think rain moves in again.

The grandkids are adorable, FCM. Love, love, love Roxy’s hair.

Congrats on the book, susan!

The visit with my daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids was very nice. The rain dried up and we got to take them to the park for a bit too. They got down here around 10:00 am and left around 4:00. I didn’t mind, I was pretty exhausted by the time they left, lol!

I need to do laundry today, and I think that’ll be the extent of my chores other than running the dishwasher. I completed the rest of the chores Friday evening and yesterday morning.

Well, that’s all that’s going on my soggy corner of the PNW. I hope you all have a good day!

Happy Sunday!

It’s warm and wet outside.
No park today though, I’m sick.
I knew it was coming. I wanted to sleep in, but even when sick, once I’m up, I’m up.
As stupid as it sounds, I want a Boston cream donut. I always have craved the weirdest stuff when I got sick.
The dogs were wired, but they’ve settled down now. Once they figured out that we weren’t going anywhere.

I want to finish laundry today, and some other stuff I have to do.

My son is excited about his new computer, but I still want to try to fix the old one. It’s less than 2 years old and should not be screwed up.
