Things That Go Bzzzzz In The Night: A Ghostly MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 52 Amurrkin out and mostly clear (partly murky?) with a predicted high of 80 and N.O.S. for the day. Today we shall procure provisions for the big main activity. Sloth and general overall uselessness shall occupy the rest of the day. Sup shall be BLTs (somebody here mentioned BLTs, I believe it was MetalMouse, and a gnawin’ and a cravin’ set in) and oven fries.

Nellie glad you are home and the itchies have calmed down.

shoe maybe BooFAe can summon the PSWSLNS and show them the way to Texas.

FlyBoy hope you are not all stiff and sore this mornin’. Glad there was no major damage to you or the Prius.

blackblazer first welcome to the MMP. You are now a Mumper. All it takes is to post one time. Second, you have a brave doggie or doggos who feel the need to protect you from the big horrible blob that invaded their home.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then. alas and a world of bother, I suppose I must purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. Life is just so hard sometimes!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

I’ll try to remember to ask her on Friday, when I’ll be up there for my post-op check-up.

Genius. Pure genius.

Morning, mumpers! It’s 11c/51f with a predicted high of 13c/55f and partly cloudy. Weather app says “This weather is fucking awesome if you just experienced winter, but it’s fucking terrible if summer just ended” which is pretty accurate since it’s cloudy and grey out there.

How are you lot today? Nellie, I hope your recovery is going well, and flyboy I am glad to hear your little accident was very minor and you weren’t hurt.

Sari that is a scary story, hopefully it was a hallowe’en prank and nothing more serious.

Moooom yay for no in-law appointments for one day!

shoe I have a small army of pointy-stick wielding Sri Lankan ninja spiders, I am sure some of them would love a trip to Texas

Nothing exciting going on here, went grocery shopping last night and spent far too much on far too little. I am sure most of it went on cat food for my little lot as they all want something different. I still need to go to the pet store for some special stuff for Shadow, and I need to stock up on cat litter as we are running low. I might be able to squeeze that in to this week, otherwise it will be the weekend before I can manage it.

Today I have the added excitement of fire warden training so I get to spend my afternoon being talked at. Since we have hybrid work patterns now, the uni has decided that all admin staff have to be fire wardens instead of just having two or three per building, so that there’s always a fire warden here. It’s a 2hr thing, I have to be there 15 minutes early, and it is scheduled to end at around the time I’d be leaving anyway so I will just go home afterwards. And it’s pub night!

Morning all. Paper retrieved and pill taken (I forgot yesterday). It’s 58F heading for 75F so another good Fall day. Need to finish cleaning out the car of all the soccer stuff and then taking it to a carwash (they’ve built two new car washes in my general area and a third is being built nearby, can;t see how all of them will stay in business, but what do I know…). Like swampy, BLT’s are planned for today (great minds think alike). And I will get my swimmin’ in today.

boo fae, if you have to sit in training for a couple hours, right before leaving is the best time. Enjoy the pub.

blackblazer, welcome and don’t be a stranger; we’ll come up with a Mumber name for you shortly.

nellie, take care now; hope the anti-itch stuff can be done someway other than IV…

Flyboy, glad you (and car) are OK, collisions like that are the only thing that worries me on expressways, especially with Semi-trucks involved…

OK, onward into the day.

Was a foggy drive to the shop today, visibility of about 300 yards. Way to many numbskulls driving with their lights off.

I nominate tuxedo or tux for blackblazer.

flyboy Yikes! Glad you’re ok.

Most cats. Not all. My Pixel adores all citrus and will steal the orange peel garnish out of my cocktail if I let her. If I want my kitties to stay away from something it gets a wash with ghost pepper hot sauce.

flyboy - Glad you’re ok and there was no damage to the Prius.

It rained overnight, which was nice. No need to water anything for a couple of days. School blood drive is today, so I made sure to have an ample supply of leftover Halloween candy in the room for those who are feeling a bit woozy after donating.

Fly low, stay loose and remember - Murphy was an optimist.

Thanks for the concern, everyone. No soreness or stiffness. The car would have been damaged before I would be, and the car was undamaged.

People like hitting my cars. Someone rear-ended my Jeep hard about a year after I bought it. Up here, I came home from Seattle one day to see someone hit it where it was parked in front of the house and moved it about three feet. (I suspect a trash truck because it looked like a low-speed hit-and-run.) I was hit on my motorcycle a couple of times in L.A./Orange County. My last Prius was rear-ended twice in a week in Everett several years ago. Now the cat and the new hit on this Prius.

I ended up with two Sony clock radios in my room; a black one and a white one. I don’t remember why. Anyway, I looked at the (black) one by the bed this morning, and it said 5:09. I thought, ‘That’s odd. I heard the coffee making.’ The coffee pot keeps terrible time, gaining minutes and starting earlier all the time. Maybe it’s just really fast now. But the other (white) clock said it was the 6 o’clock hour. Then I remembered that it reset for DST before. Since it’s set to CBC1, I thought it might be resetting for Canadian Standard Time; but that doesn’t happen until Sunday. It’s a mystery.

I brought something awful and terrible back from my daughter’s swim meet indeed. My throat is really constricted to the point where it was really difficult getting my seizure meds down this morning. I can feel the walls rub against each other whenever I swallow and it feels like it’s on fire. I’m pretty sure that’s not supposed to happen. It kinda sounds like strep since that is literally the only symptom except an occasional rolling cough. Hopefully I can score some antibiotics.

It’s chemo day, but mom has opted to drive herself instead of sitting in proximity to Typhoid Mary. Can’t imagine why. She’s threatening to come over if I don’t see someone, which is probably appropriate. Being sick when you’re older is way less fun than being sick when you’re a kid.

“Fast Duck”? They’re proliferating here, and DH and I wonder if/how they’re all going to survive.

I have some sort of crud (99% sure it’s not a return match with Covid, I just had that in August, despite full vaccination/boosters), and the cats do not seem to grasp the concept of letting Mom get some sleep. Buddy decided he wanted out, then changed his mind when I opened the door (he apparently thinks it’s too cold out).

Car washes were springing up in Ocala like weeds! On one visit there, we saw 4 or 5 under construction along a 10 mile stretch of the main drag. Insanity!!

… or maybe it’s you?? They see you behind the wheel and think “I’m gonna get that guy…”

Tobias is napping after 8 oz of formula. I’m trying to remember when Roxy quit taking a bottle… Meanwhile, I’ll enjoy the quiet and read for a bit.

Some snow in the forecast next week.

I am not in favour.

Ok, which one of you did it?

Yesterday Amazon delivered a big box. Inside was a lovely box of Lindt chocolate truffles of many flavors. No sender identified nor any gift tag.

‘Fess up! Who did it?

(I’m tickled, thrilled and cheered up by it, BTW~thanks, I needed that, whoever you are)

BBBoo - t’weren’t me, but YUM!!!

Toddler tornado wouldn’t even nap for an hour. I’ve stuffed him with mac-n-cheese-n-peas followed by mixed fruit. He’s currently growling at… something?? Kid cracks me up!

FCD has gone to a local funeral home to get info about cremation. His folks had a pre-planning thing that we just found out is only good within 35 miles of where they lived. So he’s going to get that money back and find a local provider. They don’t want a viewing or a service - just cremation. No clue what that costs around here.

And on that happy note. I’m off to wrangle the Tobester…

That’s some world class Trick or Treat you got there, Boo!

I started my day by pouring hot coffee on my boob. That woke me right up.

Today was surplus produce and it was COLD out there. Like down to 50 and all. I know winter comes every year, but I still reserve the right to get whiney about it. We were invited to an end of the summer BBQ on Saturday, so the big bag of baby potatoes will become a big bowl of potato salad.

Did taters have a party and forget to invite me? That’s OK, I don’t mind being left out of this one at all.

So more of the same today. Plus for some reason they put all the 200 South package cars on door 114, 120, and 134. But they forgot to schedule loaders for them. :face_with_raised_eyebrow: I enjoy copious OT(and this is before Peak Season).

I had to fish Fred out of the tub again. Boy is the GG of the arachnid world.

I am so sorry for laughing that hard.

Sounds good. After the sandwich plates, I got the ultrasound wand all over as well. Not fun, but I got the all clear, so that’s done.

I wore a mask during my visit, and I was the only one. Neither the receptionists, the technician nor the doctor. And there’s plenty of other germs running wild and I haven’t managed to get a flu shot yet.

Wishing a speedy recovery for those who did get caught.

Thank you! I don’t want Medicare or Social Security to be reduced or go away.

In the midst of the monthly datalanche, but I did take time out for my walk. I also made blackened snapper for my lunch.

Got my flu shot yesterday and it knocked me on my butt. Took a loooong nap. Today everything is fine. It is 70 degrees and the windows are open. Ariel had a case of the dontwannas so my ride was brief, like 10 minutes.
