This Could Be The MMP

Up. caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. It’s 36 degrees out.

Today I shall mostly be sitting in, waiting to have my electric meter replaced.

Bit surprised, as I decided to make my own version of Cornish pasties (seeing as how I’m living in Cornwall now), and put them in the oven at 12.30- the guy replacing the meter was due any time between 12 and 4, and pasties need cooking for about an hour, in my electric oven… Perfect set up for some Murphy’s law, but nope, they’re cooked, and he’s just called to say he’ll be there in about 15 minutes. Did pumpkin, spinach ‘n goats’ cheese ones, bein’ a vegetarian an’ all, and they’ve come out great for a first try, especially considering I was making it up as I went along.

I had a McBrekkie and then went to :eek:Wally Jr. to get a few provisions. The most important provision I had to get was ice cream. We were almost out of ice cream!

It’s 39F this morning and windy. Brrr… Not much planned for the weekend except horsing around with Miss A. Get it? She’s a horse, we’ll ride…never mind…

Up and perky. Da Jungle put up a list of OT for December and I am signed up to do doubles M-W-F and a couple extras on weekends. I am hoping I don’t come to regret this but the extra money will be nice come next April when Knoebels opens again. Someone has to put their kids through college!

Perky?! Morning person. Today I need to help 'Beamer finish his Halloween costume. We need to decide if we’re taking the RV out again. Possibly we will see the Bladerunner movie. There will be laundry. I re-injured my knee walking around at parent-teacher conferences for several hours yesterday. Also, World Series. Go Dodgers.

This word salad has been brought to you by not enough coffee in the world.

Mmmmmm Pasties! :stuck_out_tongue: The first real pasty I can remember was in a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Butte Montana. Since then I have become a connoisseur of pasties, perogies, peroshkas, Etc. Good eats.

Not sure about today’s activities. Yesterday i went over to our city’s piblic works and got a [del] metric buttload[/del] cubic yard of compost, which is still sitting in the bed of the truck awaiting Wifey’s instructions. I also moved another large quantity of paper from my totally inadequate and badly designed 2-drawer file cabinet into my new (to me) 5-drawer file cabinet and made a start on the pile of [del]rubbish[/del] important papers that were waiting for a new home. I suppose I could go back to whittling on that pile, or I could decide what to do with the now empty pseudo file cabinet. I can either give it away to charity, or re purpose it to contain tools or something in the garage.
Decisions, decisions.

Wrecker, pics?

Blurf. I forgot to post today. I irked but left early cause I could. I stopped at the store and got stuff for burgers as I am not in a mood to cook much. I am still in the process of trying to reclaim my home from storm crap. Slowly getting there. I am about to have beer #1 of many. Happy weekend everyone.

I had a nice visit with Miss Becky this afternoon. When OYKW shows up I’ll start the cheese steaks. The thing that takes longest is oven fries and even they don’t take that long.

Fine then I’ll just talk to myself. My version of Philly cheese steaks with oven fries turned out great as usual. We’s full and OYKW is prepparin’ himself a bath. All is good.

During the Passover seder, the youngest child asks, “How is this day like all other days?”

nut, your pasties sound really good. We used to eat them when we traveled to the UP of Michigan. A lot of Cornish folks settled there to work the copper mines.

Today was a typical Friday. Irked, bought groceries, came home and let Church’s fix supper.

Tomorrow, I’m meeting a high school classmate for lunch. She’s in town for a marketing gig.

Refereed a 10-U soccer game this evening with nice kids and…let’s just say not well-skilled* coaches. Supposed to have another full day sattiday, but a lot of rain is due tonight so it’s unknown if the fields will be open or not. Plus it’s going to be in the 40’s F, so several layers of clothing is indicated.

Still have to get my trick-or-treat stuff, do that sometime tomorrow.

  • Dumber than the proverbial box of rocks

Canes lost.:frowning: But still doing better than last season.

Nut , pasties sound tasty.

That little potential tropical disturbance is supposed to bring us 3-6 inches of rain and strong winds. The weather Gods are not happy with us Keys folks this year. So many people still have tarps for roofs or haven’t even got a tarp yet.

I found out one of my long time imaginary internet friends (12 years) has stomach cancer today. The prognosis is not good.

Her name is Pam for all you praying sorts or senders of healing vibes, good thoughts. Much appreciated.

I shall stay in all weekend if,n the weather is bad like promised. Good sleeping wx.

Butters sorry to hear about your friend. Cancer sucks.

Dodgers lost. :frowning:

I am also without ice cream. Sigh.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 55 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 77 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon and evenin’. We shall see, though I do see stuff off to the west of us. Why am I up so early you ask? I ordered tires from :eek:Wally*World:eek: and they are in the store. Their tire place opens at seven a.m. and I intend to be there then. They will mount the tires and charge only eighty cents per tire for balancin’. Then again I spent much money on four new tires so they come out ahead. I foresee nappage at some point today.

Butters so sorry about your friend. Prayers and good thoughts headed out.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. I shall purtify and then feed tummy a McBizkit.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Swampy. Yay for new tires. I, on the other hand, have no excuse whatsoever for being awake so early on a weekend day when I could potentially sleep all day. Now if it was a irkday I wouldn’t have any problem sleeping in. Go figure.

No plans much for the day. I could and should make a grocery store run today and cook some decent meals this weekend. We shall see. I am tired of junk food and easy quick stuff. I need some peas and beans and sweet taters and fried poke chops and stuff like that.

Have a great Sat everyone.

Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. Off to work.

Prayers sent for your friend, Butters.

Mebbe it’s because of the ridiculous alcohol laws in this state but the first time I saw pasties there were also butts.
If you try to eat a pasty, some big, burly dude, usually with no neck, throws you out of the club, sometimes literally!
Pastries, on the other hand, are tasty.
I have to get ready as I’m leaving in < 1 hr & will not get home until after 11pm, but I’m staying in my state & will be sleeping in my bed both nights this weekend, something that will only happen once between now & Turkey. (Dec, Jan, & maybe Feb are my slow months).
