Why does hanging out with family for the holidays always bring out the worst in your personality?
'Tis been a rainy, little bit dreary but good Fourth Holiday. We actually did get out to the cee-mint pond for a while. It was overcast and low 80’s but the water felt good albeit a bit chilly. Lots of food also. Besides a feast of ribs 'n chikin, baked beans, corn sallit, coleslaw and watermelon we had munchies that consisted of pickled asparagus (homemade and YUM!), chikin sallit made with pee-kahns and cranberries (also tres YUM!), and pepper jelly with cream cheese. Don’t know as I’ve ever explained pepper jelly 'n cream cheese before but it is one of those quintessential of all southern USA horseoveries. It’s just like it sounds. A block of cream cheese with pepper jelly spread over the top. One takes a butter knife, whacks off some cream cheese 'n pepper jelly and slaps it on top of whatever kind of cracker floats yer boat. Pepper jelly done right is a combo of spicy and sweet and cream cheese just sets it off. One of the nummiest of nummies evah! So, good company, good drink (beerverages and Jell-O shooters), good food and a good time for all.
Woohoo! We all get new wardrobes outta Spidey’s closet!

ETA: Apes this is because family above all others just know what buttons to push. Family, ya gotta love ‘em because it ain’t worth goin’ to prison to do what we really want to do to 'em.
Supper was good - tuna steaks and sweet corn. Time to do some afghanin’!

Today at work, I was having lunch with my boss and some other people. In a corner of the room where we were having lunch, there was a guy in a uniform of some sort. (I’m not sure if he was someone who worked in our building or was from some nearby building.) This guy was sitting back in a relaxed position in a chair, and had his cap pulled down over his eyes. He slept quite soundly throughout much of my lunch period - impressive, since it was a little noisy in the room.
I envy that man. I wish I had his superior napping skills.

Ok, that’s all I got for now. Need more caffiene and rumbly tummy, of course, wants to be fed. Then, alas and alack irk purtification must commence. Hopefully this will be a shortish day bein’ as I don’t expect too much to be happenin’.

I’ve been waking up on and off since 3-ish this morning. Higgs finally got noisy enough shortly after 6 and I got out of bed. Besides feeding her, I’ve started some laundry, cleaned the kitchen, scooped the cat box, and had breakfast. Not bad for an hour’s work.
We’re going to Annapolis today to an art supply store - **FCD **needs something for his airbrush and none of the local craft places had what he needs. So that’s a good excuse for a little road trip. He’s still in bed, so I’ll be able to get at least one more load of laundry done - maybe 2?
We’re promised another hot and sunny day. And humid, of course. Always humid. ugh.
Peaches are showing up at the Amish produce stands - it’s time to make peach jam! Yay!! I’ll also freeze some up for sorta-fresh peaches out of season. I lurves me some peaches!

Have to feed and scoop and water and clean again today.
Sah-son informed me at 6am that Sah-dog is out of food so somewhere in this day I have to go pick up some dog food. I think I will cheat and get him a box of the hamburger type food. It’s not good for him but he loves the stuff.

I do not want to be at irk. Just so y’all know. In a few minutes I shall head to large and in charge Sylvester, Jawja to place a new participant for trainin’. At least that feels like an accomplishment. Go Me.

I do not want to be in the hospital. Apparently, things worked out to be more serious than originally planned as I’ve gone from an expected stay of 3-4 days, to maybe going home on Sunday.
