I doesn’t sound very contrite or loving, does it? It’s all about appearances. This, along with the cheating, along with Tiger allegedly accusing her of “ruining Thanksgiving” because she found out about his women is really making Tiger look like kind of an asshole. It’s not going to be debilitating to his career or anything, but, it’s going to take some varnish off his squeaky clean image. The fact that it sounds like he tried to run from a potential physical confrontation rather than reciprocate it is a saving grace for him. People can forgive a cheater more easily than a batterer.
I actually don’t think it’s that shocking to most people, though. I haven’t encountered anyone who was surprised that Tiger Woods would cheat on his wife, or have a dick streak in private. He’s always seemed a little cold and imperious in public. He doesn’t exactly exude great warmth or or humility to begin with. He’s polite, but not warm. I don’t think many people have had their foundations rocked.
And here we go with the people assuming they know someone else’s motivations in staying married. Congratulations, Tiger, you’re now the Bill Clinton of golf. I do think it takes some kind of nerve to call Elin a hooker, though - her husband and father of her two young children cheats on her repeatedly, she decides they’re going to stay married at least for now, and for that she’s a whore?
Some web site was casting a fake made-for-TV movie about this saga and suggested Donald Faison (Scrubs) play Tiger Woods. I’d definitely sit down and watch that, but maybe I’m imagining it as an episode of Scrubs in the golf world.
Adding:
I agree if that’s true. But again, the violence is still just an assumption. I think it’s just as believable that they yelled at each other and he decided he’d had enough and wanted to work out or spend the night at a hotel or anyplace else. There’s no particular reason to think she tried to hit him. People do drive off after non-violent confrontations too.
What I mean is that of the three she mentioned, only one has confirmed anything. Let’s add your sister and make it four. Jennifer Lopez makes it five. See what I mean? At this point it is all gossip.
I’d say this is looking worse by the day: Tiger spending money like water trying to buy silence.
Future TV commercial: “Hi, I’m Tiger woods and I’d like you to buy my sponsor’s product due to my excellent public image [from which I derive enough cash to pay the large sums of hush money necessary to suppress ugly truths that would tarnish my image]”.
Lord knows Tiger’s endorsements were based on his sterling personal ethics and not the fact that he’s by a wide margin the best golfer in the world. That’s why Kobe Bryant has no endorsements anymore, right?
Bryant did lose some. Michael Vick lost every one of his.
Tiger’s endorsements have been based on his image, only part of which is his success. He exudes mental toughness on the course as well as winning, and corporate types just love mental toughness and winning so they like to identify with him. Nike has been very careful to manage that image, including playing up those things as well as establishing his image for classiness, avoiding any possible controversy so that anyone can identify with something they see in him. That’s using the lessons they learned from doing the same thing with Michael Jordan.
Nike is no doubt going through the same sort of crisis management with Tiger’s brand image right now that they did when Jordan’s gambling problem came out.
So Elin is a naturalized citizen afterall. Hmm, I didn’t think she had been here long enough. And born on Janurary 1, 1980. It should be easy to figure out how old she is.
She is democrat and Tiger has no party affiliation.
Any cite for this? I’ve read the references on here that he is buying Elin’s silence, but I haven’t read or seen any real sources that he is buying the silence of the others. Just speculation. I don’t mean to be snarky, I’m just wondering if there is something more definitive.
The one girl who lawyered up suddenly went silent but she was denying anything happened. IF she had been fooling around with Tiger she did the smartest thing. Deny, get a lawyer, and find a way to legally blackmail him.
In very limited exposure to pre-nups, they have usually been in place on a second (or later) marriages, and mainly to protect children from the first marriage(s).
Yes, and he’s won new ones since then. He’s still the same guy who cheated on his wife, he just apparently isn’t doing it anymore, and is still a great basketball player. Nobody ever thought Kobe was a super duper nice guy either.
Vick was accused of something a lot of people would call worse than adultery and ended up doing hard time for it. That’s a little different from Tiger’s situation.
It’s not that difficult to find, even if you don’t know how to google things (like “Orange County Elections” in this case) - you just drive to Windermere and look for news vans.
I was going to ask if we even know that happened. But it looks like both rear windows are busted and it’s hard to imagine his wife did that while trying to get him out, seeing as how it makes no sense.
To clarify, no. A prenup does not mean that I don’t feel you have a proper marriage, but this one seems to be so much about money. I guess I have a limited scope, but my wife and I, and none of our friends, sit down after an argument and contractually talk about how we will split our assets if we divorce.
If I thought divorce was an option, I wouldn’t have married her. I understand that Tiger has a hell of a lot more money to lose than me, but it seems that by renegotiating the pre nup, his wife is saying, “I will stay, if you pay me.” This is not the basis for a fulfilling marriage.
And no, there is no required sex in the contract, but that’s an implied part of marriage, all joking aside. I don’t think that Tiger is going to reform his sinful ways and not be getting it at home. His wife, though, didn’t say she forgave him, loved him, wanted to grow old with him, or even that she felt that she had to move on and find someone who wouldn’t cheat on her; just that she would stay for more money sooner. Money for sex w/ a hell of a lot of other bennies. I stand by my high priced prostitution contract statement.
