Tiger Woods injured

Even that wouldn’t matter if it weren’t for the bit about Elin assaulting him with a golf club. That’s titillation.

Can’t imagine why they don’t wont to keep marketing something called “Gatorade Tiger Focus”!

I know it is terrible of me to take such glee in someone else’s troubles, but this is just such a wonderful present of holiday joy!

heh. Gatorade pulls a product, but I bet the “Axe” line of mens products runs with his new image…

For a really good explanation of why all these Las Vegas “Hostesses” are involved and what it is that they do, go to this link for all the sordid details.

I wonder what cologne company will start marketing a “Transgressions” scent?

Perhaps Tiger should start hanging out with Dennis Rodman. Maybe that would put an end to all this ridiculous reporting frenzy. Note to reporters, yes Tiger has a penis and he knows how to use it.

Why in the heck is everyone so shocked that Tiger likes women? He’s probably been banging 50 or more a year since he was 16. Compared to some bad boys in sports, Tiger is still a kitty cat.

Even Letterman had the bad taste to mock Tiger and we all know how monastic a life Letterman has led.

Tiger is married, that makes things different. The boffing is a chink in his pristine image. Now over 10 women have claimed having sex with him. Rumor is his wife and her sister bought a 2.5 million dollar home in Sweden. That will explode whats left of his image. His kids will be on another continent. Kids who looked up to them with their parents approval will not be so hot for him.
It is possible Tiger will quit playing. he does not need the money or the aggravation .

That’s good enough to trademark. Seriously.

I always thought Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed have one of the smarter agreements. When he’s home Gene doesn’t fool around. On the road it’s ok. That’s a mature way of handling the temptations. Athletes and musicians have stunningly beautiful women throwing themselves at them all the time. Anyway, it works for Gene and Shannon. They’ve been together 20 years.

Tiger’s mistake was allowing the sweet boy scout image to define him. Now that image is smashed (like his car) and it may destroy his career.

He’ll still be the best golfer in the world. That’s not too shabby.

That’s true. Tiger is the best ever. Golf is very conservative compared to the NBA or NFL. But, even golf has John Daly. Tiger will get through this and continue winning championships. He’ll pick up new sponsors to replace the ones he loses now.

Well, he made multi megabucks from that image, which many would consider anything but a mistake. But it clearly was at serious odds with reality, so the reckoning - when at last it arrived - looks kinda brutal.

Who is sending his best wishes:

Classy thing to say, but that’s gotta sting coming from golf’s enfant terrible.

No he wont.

Chaos In Tigerland: A Deadspin Investigation Into The Sexual Habits Of Pro Athletes Read this Tiger story. He has opened up a can of worms. There are a lot of celebs who were getting his treatment ,now the execs and other pros are going to have some spainin to do.

I honestly can’t imagine him continuing the tour this year. Two reasons. First, to perform at his level requires a phenomenal amount of concentration, even from him. He’s so distracted now, focused even on everything else that’s going on and there’s no way there will be any let up in managing this literal clusterfuck for quite some time. The liasons are continuing to be detailed, he’s renegotiating a prenup, damage control on his marriage, etc, etc, etc. Secondly, the way he’s been received by the golf world, that being by the announcers at tournaments and more importantly by the galleries that follow him adoringly from hole to hole and fans worldwide has been fundamentaly changed and changed forever. It’s always been a huge part of his psyche, something he could play to and feed off of and he has no idea right now where he stands with them. His prior appeal extended far beyond the links. For many he was a role model, especially to kids. I think he’ll need some serious reassurance before he ventures back out again. He’ll need to know his base, where he stands and that he has a chance to somewhat resume his authority and status again as opposed to being a constant butt of jokes, always compared and judged against what he was and did before.

He’ll never again be the complete golden boy in the public’s eye, an image he cultivated as seriously as any athlete ever has. Until he again knows where he stands and that he can resume his dominance and have the fan’s respect, personally I just don’t see him willing to venture back out. This is going to take some time.

I’m not a golf fan, but I have heard many times over the past several years that it was a foregone conclusion that Tiger would break Nicklaus’ record of major tournament championships. Given that he didn’t win any in 2009, I became skeptical. With this monkey on his back, has it gone from inevitable to impossible?

Are you kidding? You can’t possibly think that Phil or Padraig will find themselves the world #1 at this time next year (barring Tiger getting injured again), or even winning more dollars than Tiger.

There’s just no chance.

While I’m not exactly sure of when all these liaisons began, it appears that he has won four majors and perhaps 20-something tournaments while stepping out on his wife. He’ll play his 12-15 tournaments, no question.

As a couple of others have observed, not yet he isn’t. He clearly is the best in the world at present, but he hasn’t put together a full career yet. If he were to walk away from the game right now - a la Byron Nelson or Bobby Jones, his precise ranking in the pantheon would be up for debate. And if he continues to play but is distracted and fails to overtake Jack, well …

He’s still so young, and has won SO MUCH so far, I expect he will still eventually set the record for majors won in a career, and earn the indisputed title of best ever. But he isn’t there yet. Other great golfers have walked away in mid career. And he may not smash the records as quickly and by as huge of margins as it may have appeared even this past year.
