After thinking about it, I’m glad we didn’t get a repeat of the Chris Brown / Rihanna story.
Tiger did the smart thing by trying to leave the confrontation. A guy can’t defend himself in a situation like that. It’s a shame he wasn’t a little smarter about keeping his zipper closed.
I don’t know if Elin had a few too many on Thanksgiving, or if Tiger told her, “Uh, honey, what do John Edwards and I have in common?” but it seems to me she went for his face, he bolted to get away, and she chased after him with a golf club. Even in an Escalade, I would think someone banging on the rear window with a golf club would be startling, and he went boom crash thump.
I’m betting if there are any charges, they will be filed will be against Elin.
Rich, poor, or middle class, you are under no obligation to talk to the police. If the police get an attitude and insist on talking to him, Tiger can tell them to come back the 2nd Tuesday after Never, so it is in their best interests to try to appease him.
Again, this has nothing to do with social status. If this was** jtgain** or gonzomax, we could both tell the cops to get lost, we aren’t saying anything.
And if these reports are true about the domestic dispute, it may be best to keep their yaps shut.
Tiger went to Australia and flirted with a socialite. This much is already known.
His wife is the jealous sort and confronted him. He told her to chill the fuck out.
She beat his ass and him being a “good guy” did not fight back but attempted to flee. And despite being famous for “cool under pressure” he lost control and crashed and was dazed and confused. Enter cops, paparazzi, etc.
At least this is what I hope happened. If he actually cheated I’ll be bummed. He is someone I respect immensely for his skill, professionalism and charity work.
The alleged other woman is denying any affair, and is threatening to sue the Enquirer. Tiger might really be innocent, but I wouldn’t be surprised either way. There has to be a lot of opportunity and temptation for someone in his position.
Absolutely not. You have to hand them your license, registration, and (in some states) proof of auto liability insurance.
If they suspect that you are under the influence of alcohol/drugs, then by a civil contract, you have agreed to perform field sobriety tests (the extent differs by state) and if you do not perform those tests, they can suspend your driver’s license.
Here is my WAG: his injuries are not from the accident and if they are investigated, they will be shown to be as such and the old lady will be in trouble.
He has already gone to the hospital for said injuries, so it figures that they have been documented.
And he is supposed to be hosting is own tournament this week. That is probably the second on his list of places he doesn’t want to be at this week. #1 is obviously talking to the Florida Highway Patrol, since he has canceled meeting with them three straight days.
I’m not at all a fan of Tiger’s, and am happy for something to tarnish his rep - and hopefully distract him from the game at hand. But I doubt this will accomplish either.
Have to say, his statement is a model for anyone in a similar situation.
His PR has always been as exceptional as his game.
Right, and I’m not an expert at these things, but I’m sure that the hospital report would have generic statements like “facial lacerations”. The medical personnel are there to treat the injuries, not to make judgments about where they came from. In fact, unless the police have evidence of something, his medical conditions would remain private anyways.
Now, if he were to sit down with the state police and they were to see a sand wedge shaped gash across his left cheek, (with rake marks where she cleaned her footprints (drum roll w/rimshot) ) then they would use that as evidence against Mrs. Tiger.
Tiger is under no legal obligation to speak to the cops. However it might be a good idea if he comes up with an explanation. He has a lot of fans who are wondering who he really is. The rumors are everywhere and ignoring them will not make them go away. They will probably intensify with neglect.
Not talking to the police is not only his right, but also the smartest decision he’s made lately. He doesn’t want anybody in his household prosecuted, doesn’t want a private matter to explode in public, silence is the way to go. The media will go away as soon as one of umpteen other celebrities gets caught with their hands in the nookie jar…
Golfers are different. Tiger is not just another celeb. he is the highest paid endorser and golfer of all time. His appeal is not to the people who follow Brittany Spears. He has to find a way to keep his endorsements and ignoring the situation will not do the job. He has a golf tourney very soon that helps fund his charities. He might do well to try and find a way to diffuse the story.
Silence is his best option right now. He’ll need time to work out with his lawyer how to respond to the police. He doesn’t want to incriminate his wife or get into trouble for making false a statement.
I’m surprised the cops didn’t jump on the domestic violence originally. Any suspicious marks or injuries opens up that door for them to investigate. FAIK it’s still a traffic investigation now.
