My condolences. Polycarp will be missed. I was thinking of him yesterday, reading a religious forum and telling myself that they would need someone like him to post there, and wondered why I hadn’t noticed him in a while.
Poly was one of my favorite posters and one of the main reasons I joined this board eleven years ago. I loved talking to him about religion in general and what was happening in the Episcopal Church we both loved. I’ve missed the days when he was most active but always comforted when I saw a new post from him.
I’m so sorry for your loss, Mrs. Carp. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
It must be dusty in here, because surely I’m not getting damp eyed over someone I never met in person. Wait, yes, I am because he was a good man who’s worth missing.
I’m very sorry for your loss. When I try to think of Polycarp’s stature on this board I keep thinking Elder Statesman, even though I know that’s not exactly the right phrase. He was admired and respected. We’re going to miss him.
I can’t add to what has been said already. He was one of the posters that inspired me to join the forum way back when…only to be immediately chastised by him for my thoughtless post. Ha!
I knew him here, on the Pizza Parlor and Christian Forums.
So sorry to hear this. Thanks to Mrs. P. for letting us know. And thanks to Thudlow Boink for those links; **Poly **the Grammar Nazi was my favorite and I will miss him.
I am very sorry for your loss. I hope it can be some comfort to you to know that your husband’s presence here enriched many of our lives, including mine. I’ll always remember him fondly.
