I grew up in an upbringing where I was taught that even if you aren’t wrong, apologizing anyway can help smooth over a dispute - that apologizing isn’t so much an actual admission of guilt as it is a tool for getting things over with sooner. It’s got that same innocent socially unaware vibe I label as Asberger-ish. And beyond the OP he’s not returned.

IIRC jinx used to do the OP-only routine a lot. And when he did post mid-thread it was often only to misunderstand or “misunderstand” what folks had said.
