Trolls R Us redux [Now the argument clinic]

Maybe Colibri’s banhammer finger is a bit twitchy today.

Yes, Discourse works quite differently. Discourse evidently only attaches a “Banned” title to people who were Banned before the switch. Instead, the procedure is to Suspend someone permanently. But you have to click the poster’s avatar to see it.

We’re actually still learning the in and outs of Discourse. I haven’t figured out all the options yet. But I have figured out how the banhammer works.

So you have to click his name or avatar in the thread, and then click his avatar in the popup window to see his full profile summary. Yes?

Try it and see…

No. Just click his avatar in one of his posts and it will say “This user is suspended.” When the reason listed is “trolling,” it’s a pretty good guess he’s banned.

On my phone it takes the two clicks…
Clicking on avatar brings up the ID card then clicking on the avatar on the card brings up the profile with the suspension status.

Thanks. I don’t read the board on the phone so I don’t know how it looks there.

This is exactly what I get on my PC. When I click the avatar in a post, I get the same result as clicking the name in the post, which I guess is called the ID card. The notification of suspension does not appear there, at least not for me.

And kswiss has been cornfielded.

Eureka! I’ve discovered I can edit a poster’s title to say “BANNED,” which I have done for I-AM-WABI-SABI and kswiss. So that should be visible on all their posts.

Huzzah!

Thanks, Colibri

Yeah, thanks Colibri.

Bye, jackass.

RealityCheck71 behaved in exactly the same way that CarnalK did which ultimately led to his banning.

Exactly. The. Same.

And… he’s banned. The label by the name is very good. Thanks Colibri!

Oh yeah, he was already banned when I posted. I guess I left that part out

As we say, you can change your name, but you can’t change who you are.

He didn’t even try very hard.

I guess he was banned as a sock?

I’m not disagreeing, just curious – how were they acting the same?
