For my education, what is it about the avatar of (I think) rboyce that you find suspicious? I’m not disputing you, but just mystified at what’s tripping your trigger. Everything else about that guy is a troll-signal or at least a clueless goofball-signal. The pic seems to me to be innocuous enough.

If a head shot avatar is a sign of trolling we’ve got a lot of sleeper trolls amongst us right now. Are those posters’ avatars shots of random schlubs, random celebrities, or of the poster themself? Hell if I know. Nor do I know how to tell one possibility from another unless I happen to recognize the pic as a particular celebrity.

They’ve started two threads this month, both of which are idiotic. The person writes like an illiterate or else someone whose native language is utterly unlike English, but slowly gives away the fact they’re absorbing lots of US RW propaganda.
Meanwhile folks are patiently interacting as if they are real and yet every cite is ignored, every explanation just bounces off, and the same nonsense / non sequitur question / assertion is repeated. In a “well onto the spectrum” deadpan manner.
As a separate matter to these two bland if stupid threads, they’ve posted in a bunch of Trump/politics related threads. With an outside observer’s tone, but one exposed to lots of US media. Whose view is the US is doomed by their divisions. Generally one post per thread, but occasionally more than that.
If somebody was a very amateur Chinese agent provocateur with marginal English skills, IMO they’d look/sound a lot like this.
Whoever/whatever they are, they’re not an asset. They’re not even a good example of being a bad example. Yet.
That just shows how good they are.
Just so you all know, my avatar is a head shot of me, really truly me, at 8 years old. Taken in Cedar Rapids Iowa, a genuinely swell place to grow up. LSL and Spoons helped with the graphic design.
