Or, people could just let it go. The guy is a long time poster who has mentioned he has medical problems. We don’t know what the last year has been like for him. So he’s having a meltdown and everyone needs to pile on, plus he gets mentioned in the troll thread. Maybe you could just show a little compassion for a fellow doper and let it go. Just because it’s in the pit doesn’t mean you have to be the biggest asshole you can.
That’s all very noble, but there’s only person who won’t “let it go”. Unless a poster asks us to do otherwise, I’m going to treat their posts on their merits, treat them as an equal participant, not patronize them. Whatever’s going on, I don’t think it’s helpful to give someone false feedback that what they are saying is perfectly coherent and insightful, when it’s clearly not.
If he’s just a bit off this week because he’s not well, it’s not like anyone’s going to do anything but shrug this off and forget it.
What about all the other people in the thread? Are they letting it go? They dragged it to this thread for some reason, even tho he’s clearly not a troll. Seems it’s not him who can’t let it go.
I never asked anyone to give false feedback, nor am I noble. What’s next, social justice warrior? White knighting?
Just leave him alone instead of prolonging the thread so you can get a few more hits on him. It is literally the least you could do for a fellow poster who’s having a meltdown. Really, there is no need for you to personally correct everything you see as wrong on the internet. You know, that whole not be a jerk thing everyone talks about. Just because you can be a jerk in the Pit, doesn’t mean you have to take it out on someone who is experiencing problems.
It’s not like he has a cold for a couple of days. The sooner people stop poking him, the sooner the thread dies, the sooner people forget about it. If posters keep posting in that thread, no one will forget about it. Five years from now someone will start a thread about the time that guy had a meltdown over acronyms.

He even thanked you for your help in covid threads because he’s dealing with immune system problems.
